9.2 Excellent (481 reviews)
C$ 496+

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The setting was so beautiful
Cons: The furniture in the unit was not the most comfortable
6.0 Good
Pros: The view was beautiful.
Cons: All the chickens! Plus, it was a long walk to the beach down a big hill which meant you had to walk back up! Plus, they did not tell us they only refreshed the room every other day, which would be fine but we like having coffee and had to request more.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Rooms are only cleaned every 3 days. Properly needs renewal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The setting and the amenities were exceptional
Cons: Staff could have been friendlier
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed and swimming pool
6.7 Good
Pros: Peaceful and beautiful.
Cons: Cleaning services.
5.4 Okay
Cons: We asked for our money back after it became apparent that the studio only had a super uncomfortable pull out couch bed. The resort seemed nice, and the staff was friendly, but for the love of God get the one bedroom! I could not believe they would have us stay on a bumpy springy pull out couch bed for 200+ a night! The Windham had a nice little studio right down the road with a REAL BED for almost half the price. Like I said the resort seemed really nice but DO NOT get the studio room if you value comfort in a mattress.
The Cliffs at Princeville - Princeville - Bedroom
8.9 Excellent (611 reviews)
C$ 396+
Overview Reviews
Nestled on a secluded bluff overlooking the Majestic North Shore of Kauai, the Pacific Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see; where the clouds come alive and dance in concert with our endless sunrise and sunsets, interrupted only by the whales, turtles and waves crashing against the shore. The views are simply stunning which is why at the beginning or end of every day you might find yourself drawn by the Adirondack chairs strategically placed along the ocean’s edge allowing you to ponder on the meaning of life, or simply enjoy Mother Nature at her finest.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a condo like resort. It has a full kitchen. Coffee and coffee maker. Utensils, plates and cookware which was a really nice perk. It’s like staying at home while being away.
Cons: No air conditioning which wasn’t unbearable and the rooms were equipped with a lot of fans but it was humid and occasionally uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean with a huge amount of space. And the views off the cliffs were stunning. Would definitely book again!
Cons: An on property restaurant would be nice
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The condo exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious and even had a washer/dryer. Very comfortable and a nice location.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The unit was spacious. We were very comfortable, had everything we needed, and enjoyed our stay.
Cons: As others have mentioned, this could be an uncomfortable place to stay during warmer months. The interior and decor are anything but modern. The property feels a bit isolated, and you of course have to drive to see anything interesting.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: I ordinarily don’t write reviews, but the fact that this hotel has such positive reviews is ridiculous. This hotel nearly ruined my vacation. I feel fairly betrayed by the reviews this place got, which is why I booked. There is no AC in the units, and they really need them. The “breeze” did not help. It’s humid and the room is extremely musty. The units are incredibly dated. The room smelled like my grandmothers house and had the same vibe. It was incredibly depressing. Also, there are a large number of birds that will run at you if you’re on the ground floor because they want food. I didn’t mind that but I imagine there are people that it would bother. It makes sitting outside difficult. A few days before my stay, I tried to cancel the reservation after learning that there was no AC. The hotel refused. Also, there’s no daily room cleaning service - this is not a hotel. Given all this, the cost is ludicrous. Please take my advice: pay 100 more and stay at one of the nearby hotel resorts. Or save your money and stay somewhere nicer (there are lots of places that are very similar to this booking but cost way less). If you think that this is a nice place to stay, think again! I really can’t express how awful this place was, and upset that I spent any money on it.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Good location and condo was pretty typical of a spot in Princeville
Cons: Service. Front desk and maids were both very pushy and rude. On check out day even though we secured late checkout we had maids knocking on our door at 8:30 AM telling us we needed to leave. Front desk dismissed our complaint when we called saying more guests were coming and we needed to get out. For the price to stay here I wouldn’t do it again strictly because of the staff. For $300+ a night I’m sure we can find a friendlier place to stay next time.
5.4 Okay
Pros: There was a washing machine, and the view at the cliff is good.
Cons: I was given keys at check in which were not programmed to work when I tried to go into the room. Then when it was programmed and I went to go to the room, the room was still being occupied by other guests!! It's concerning to know that I was given access to someone else's room. I went back to reception and in the third go, we got a room that was free and access.

9.6 Excellent
Cons: Charge for bottled water in the room was unnecessary and expensive!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, beautiful location
Cons: Does not have a beach but I still give it 10/10 because I knew that when I reserved it and that wasn''tt a major priority for me
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was great, kitchen was small but functional and the area is very beautiful. Kauai is better to explore if you have a car. Loved that we could make our own breakfast and have a BBQoutside at the property. The also had a shuttle to the royal Princeville where the view is spectacular and dinner was amazing! The shuttle also took us to the helicopter ride at Princeville airport at to the local village to get supplies and drinks at no extra cost!
Cons: It is quite isolated would definitely say you need a car to get the most out of the island. Other than that awesome stay!
6.2 Good
Pros: Location is excellent
Cons: Almost all food was substandard and did not represent value for money. Parking can be an issue if you arrive home late. Lots of little maintenance tasks seem to be slipping. Hot tub at quiet pool not working and surrounded by unsightly cones an chain that spoiled the ambience.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: location and resort design, BBQ options, landscaping,
Cons: most of the resort area is noisy due to a lot of huge AC fans - this destroys the overall perfect environment; it´was not possible to sleep with open windows!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room had everything you need . A full kitchen and a washer and dryer . They had excellent BBQ areas and the pools were awesome !
Cons: The outside pool bar service closed at 6pm . Even when open pool side drinks were very slow .
9.2 Excellent
Cons: I think we were just unlucky, but our toilet couldnt flush even after they tried to fix it once. However, everything else was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best hotels on the island, the grounds are perfect night and day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The sight of hundreds of flames burning on mock torches around the grounds is disgusting. To most international visitors who are trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, these flames are simply producing greenhouse gases by burning gas for no benefit, other than for aesthetic reasons. Take it from me, anyone who is concerned about our environment will find this disgraceful waste of fuel abhorrent. This hotel needs to change its attitude to environmental issues immediately.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service at this hotel was excellent! The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Even though my villa was located near the children's pool it was absolutely quiet and Serene! Also I was in a huge room with a foily a sunken in tub a gigantic walk-in
Cons: The one thing I did not like about the hotel was the location. It was okay but you basically had to drive to get to anything that you wanted to do.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pools and kid friendly pools.
Cons: There was noise outside the room even after I asked for a quiet room. I should have changed rooms however I was in bed when I noticed this noise that continued throughout the night!

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location, outside appearance and surroundings.
Cons: 1. Bugs in kitchen and bathroom crawling all around. 2. No AC 3. Mold in kitchen and bathroom 4. No room service. Guests have to clean the unit, wash dishes and remove trash.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: missing A/C
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, the villa was spacious, we liked the full kitchen, nice sized bathrooms, living room, and patio. Parking very close to our villa was great!
Cons: We did not like that there wasn't air-conditioning in our villa and it made for hot afternoons/evenings preparing and eating dinner. Having AC would have made sleeping more comfortable as well. (They had fans but it didn't really help.) Units need updated
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was located in a nice area. The hotel grounds itself were very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Cons: The bed in one of our rooms was not comfy. It was dented and my bf struggled to get good sleep. There is no ac here which we knew when we booked but I think having more portable fans would be nice. One portable fan in each room would have been nice.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good and safe area. Beautiful resort place! Close to everything in the north shore. Kindly and helpful staff!
Cons: Expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the pool and hot tub was beatiful
Cons: although I did not need it there was no air conditioning
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms Super comfy beds Walk to Queens Bath
Cons: Loud roosters in the morning A little far out of town
5.8 Okay
Pros: The pool and the concierge desk.
Cons: The sink fell from the counter, broke my toe when it crashed into my foot. I had to clean up the mess. Not once did they apologize.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The facility was nice, but the air conditioning was a big issue for us. Hard to get used to after a night/day out hiking. The room was great other than that. Location, size was fantastic. Only thing we could appreciate more is more dining!
Cons: Air conditioning! It really is a deal breaker. It was worse than we expected. We thought it wouldn’t be so bad to sleep in but during this season, it was rough.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The sleeping quarters are spacious as well as the living room, kitchen has complete utensils. We specially loved the rice cooker. The washer and dryer was a big plus!
Cons: We were checked in late even though our room was already ready, must have been a very busy day. There was big tree being cut down that really bothered us during the morning that were still asleep for a couple of days.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, clean and comfortable. Small washer dryer which was great after muddy hike.
Cons: Would have been nice to have AC. needed on first day. Location ok. Not close walking distance to anything. Ok for driving. No view.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of space. Great clubhouse and pool. Well kept grounds. Quiet
Cons: Both beds in our unit were extra soft and this made it challenging for us to rest well.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay and services from the day we arrived to the day we left. Steven and his team were outstanding and they made sure we had the greatest time during our stay. The views are fantastic and the beach was nice and secluded. We loved spending our afternoons in the pool and watching the beautiful sunset views followed by live music.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Service was exceptional!!! Great location. Expensive but worth it!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from the room with ocean view is incredible, the staff is the best i've had in my life everyone is so perfect.
Cons: The extra fees, even if you pay ---$usd for one night they charge an extra fee of 37$/night for no reason plus a 30$ fee for parking overnight. It's like a fee over an other fee for a room that you already payed for.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location beautiful swimmable beach!
Cons: Need a face lift, but the valet said they’ll be closing next year for renovations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located on one of most beautiful spots in the world. Room very nice, service great, view spectacular. Food was good and again view wonderful. Enjoyed relaxing at a great resort. It was away from crowds, elegant and enjoyable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Concierge service was great! We loved the location and the private beach is marvelous. We did a sunrise shooting with Samuel and the pictures were great.
Cons: The price of the breakfast, $42 for the buffet, too pricey. Also, they charge the same valet parking for guests and visitors which seems unfair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Probably the best hotel you can find on Kaua'i. Awesome view, private beach access and location just around the corner form Hanalei. Excellent service, clean and spacious room.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was very nice. Right off of the beach and a very short drive to the city center for gas and snacks, a few more miles and you can get to some nice scenic overlooks.
Cons: For the price, we were expecting a lot more. The facility is dated and not clean (old stained carpet in entryway, torn chairs by the beach with holes in the umbrellas), the food was also overpriced and just meh in terms of taste.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is outstanding. Pool area is very nice, lots of sun lounges and shade. Beach is small but ok for beginner snorkeling. Buffet breakfast was nice but very're really paying for the view. Wait staff were very attentive. Food choices quite limited so we stopped on the way and bought cheese, crackers, other snacks and cold drinks. Made life a bit easier!
Cons: Excessive parking charges! $35 a day..and you have no choice in the matter.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was a true five star experience! The location, the atmosphere, the lobby, the bar etc. yes, it’s a little dated, but it doesn’t take away from the grandeur of this hotel. The views are absolutely spectacular
Cons: The balcony bar gets very crowded at sunset because of the spectacular view. It’s quite dirty out there so the staff could work a little harder to keep tables and grounds clean. It was also a bit frustrating that as paying hotel guests, sometimes the balcony was so busy with visitors we couldn’t even sit out there. Obviously hard for the hotel to control this, but last night there were two empty tall tables because one party had pulled all the chairs to their table. This should not be allowed as it’s a waste of those two tables.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved how often the room was cleaned everyday, as well as the different VIP services. We loved having the French press coffee delivered to our room every morning! Such a great touch.
Cons: I don’t have any complaints regarding the hotel we had a wonderful stay!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service, excellent food. Valet service for car very good.
Cons: Room was ready for remodel, looking tired and worn. Leaking toilet, slow draining sink, TV not connected to purchase movies.
