I was travelling by car and was looking for an accommodation near Parma. In this respect, the location was OK to me. Actually it is at a quite nice place. The owner is also owning a restaurant nearby, so you can have dinner there and he sent a waitress over to check me in. Breakfast is self service, no very fresh items, but they have some fruits and cakes, so also not bad. The room had a big bed, but was half a dormitory. I was also a little bit concerned, I would be standing alone, but other guests also arrived. The river Po is very near that is also a nice vue.
To plug my mobile charger was a little bit difficult. Road is not far, and noisy in the morning a little bit. There are though many trees that help to reduce the noise.
Called a hostel but the accommodation was immaculate Comfortable bed.Kitchen that you could use.Outdoor area to sit Po River nearby- could walk there but a bit of a walk, maybe 15 min. Breakfast basic Mosquito netting on windows Wonderful restaurant 5 min.walk with outdoor seating& not bothered by mosquitoes here.
Lots of mosquitoes for outdoor sitting..
Very clean, spacious and a great location with a huge garden and green surroundings, about 100 meters away from the river Po. Stylish and modern furnished rooms and great kitchen with all you can wish for a sweet breakfast (cake, toast, müsli, different jams, fresh croissants, different kinds of coffees and teas, cheese, yoghurt etc.). You can use the well equipped kitchen for yourself all day long, with free coffee, tea and buiscuits and the possibility to even prepare your own meals. But this isn't really necessary, because the Osteria Bortolino is about 10 meters away and offers wonderful food in an great garden - please reserve a table in advance, because it seems to be always full! ;-)) The host Roberto is very kind and helpful and even offers good and new bycicles for rent for free (but bring a locker!) And last but not least: the town Brescello, quite across the bridge is a lovely place to remember the famous "Don Camillo e Peppone" films - don't miss, when you are in the area!
The nearby bridge with much traffic sometimes is very noisy, but nevertheless we slept well, because of the good closing windows and the air condition. If you plan to go for a walk near the river in the dusk, it is better to bring mosquito repellent, as nature has a variety of blood-sucking insects there!
With a stay at B&B Bortolino in Viadana, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Church of Santa Maria Nascente and Museum of Peppone and Don Camillo. Free self parking is available onsite.
