Pick-up truck

KAYAK
Picking up I was told they had no trucks after I reserved a truck. Finally they gave me a big 4x4 diesel 3/4 ton. They somehow changed my days and cut me 2 days short but it cost the same as I found out it was because I was upgraded and not informed. I have no receipt even asking more than a few times I wanted to see how I was cut short. Finally a guy printed me one showing a higher price than I booked with ! I added insurance from Kayak and it was for my total days so I paid for 2 extra days I didn’t have the truck. Now my security deposit is either being mail in check form or refunded to my credit card. I have been getting the runaround. For 6 days now..

Didn't have the car I reserved and didn't seem to think it was out of their norm. Stated, well it's based on daily returns. Why do they take reservations at all? Gave me a vehicle with poor mpg instead costing me more in gas.

Complete waste of my time. I made the reservation and I literally walked to the rental place and was told I couldn’t rent with a debit card and also that they did not have any cars available for rent. I was stuck for 6 hours waiting for a friend to get into town to pick me up. I was also never reimbursed the insurance on the vehicle that i never even rented. Horrible experience and I will never use hertz or kayak to rent a car ever again

Pros:

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable...no up sells!

Cons:

The first vehicle brought out appeared comfortable but the tires were obviously worn. We were taking this vehicle across the country, thru the desert in 110 + degree weather. There should be better quality control on vehicles and their upkeep. The staff was very prompt and courteous in providing us with a better maintained vehicle.
