Location is good. Communal space is large. Staff are all helpful.
To enter this hostel you need to drag your luggage through long road of rock. 6 female dorm near reception is quite noisy during night and also daytime. Laundry and luggage storage room are in back yard. Lots of people walk through on rocky road made it really noisy. Bathroom sink is almost blocked when I checked in. Heater in bathroom doesn't work. They keep window open but as it is quite high you can't really close it. Had 2 shower there always freezing cold. Window in bedroom is really high so whole room is quite dark. Also this is the most expensive yha during my whole trip in NZ, totally not worth it because of its facility.

Stones in front of the hostel are very inconvenient for travellers with luggage as it cannot be dragged.
