Very nicely appointed. Friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable bed. The dog was made very welcome.
Our room had a very tiny high window looking into the side of a path. Worth checking which rooms are available.
The welcome from Sam, after a difficult journey, was exceptional and we immediately started to relax. The staff were all great and very friendly. Lots of little touches like bags for muddy boots and somewhere to wash dogs’ paws. Would definitely recommend and we will return.
As good as ever
Hotel has been restored to a high standard after fire, beds were comfortable, food was good, location was excellent, staff were friendly and very accommodating, I must also point out that the bathroom shower is the best ‘hotel’ shower I have ever used, and that includes a lot of bespoke and 4/5 star hotels I enjoyed when travelling on business.
(Comments are now being made in a comparison of experience with inn on pre fire visits), 1. whilst beds were comfortable, bedroom was not, chairs too upright and hard. 2. Bar area has a magnificent open fire area which used to be furnished with old leather settees where you could after a days walking in the average ‘lakes’ weather rest and get warm in comfort whilst enjoying a drink before a lit log fire before showering and changing for dinner, no longer possible due to entire bar area set out for dining-what a great shame and log fire only lit once during 4 day visit.
