Liked everything, especially the food, it was amazing!
Loved every minute of it
The food, the resort and everything about it!
The white sand beach was lovely, the hotel was striking in it's design. (The Tulum coast is gorgeous). The resort had all the items a person could ask for in an all-inclusive setting. The food in the buffet restaurant was mostly well done, you could always find something good in spite of a few "misses" that could hardly be avoided in such a large scale operation. The beach side snack restaurant was an amazing buffet for those who didn't wish to get out of their bathing suits. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and well kept. The staff were fine and tried to make your trip comfortable.
It was our first time in a large all-inclusive and I didn't like the idea that there wasn't a personality to the place. It seemed rather institutional. Also the day we arrived we were told that we couldn't eat in any of the speciality restaurants for our entire stay. We had paid for at least getting into some different dining locations and we had to eat in the buffet every dinner. We did go back to the dinner scheduler to look for cancelations but to no avail. It seemed like there were many "rules" to keep the guests in line. There had been a seaweed die-off and the beach was covered undried seaweed and debris in front of the resort. You had to walk over plastic cups, plastic bags, etc to get into the ocean. Yikes.
The Grand Bahia Principe Tulum overlooks a lovely beach with turquoise blue water. Many sights are a short drive away. With only 20 minutes to Tulum, 35 to Playa del Carmen, and just over an hour to Cancun, guests can discover the treasuries of the Quintana Roo region.
