You have to stay here at least once
Disney's design time does a fantastic job of making the rooms, the lobbies, and atmosphere feel very much like you're experiencing Disneyland the entire time you're there. The customer service is also exceptionally good.
Honestly, there wasn't much I didn't like. I'm spoiled, and I don't want to stay anywhere else when I go to Disneyland now. However, there is one thing. It's clear that, that hotel, even though it's been renovated multiple times, is getting old. Simple things like there being low ceilings (and I'm only 6', so I can't imagine how taller people feel about them) show off that it might be outgrowing itself. We stayed in Frontier Tower, so the experience might be different on the others.
Our stay was for our 30th wedding anniversary, and the hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, & special. Although the prices seem a little high for most people, our stay was very enjoyable. We will be returning in the future.
The only negatives to our trip were the Disneyland Railroad, Haunted Mansion, and River Boats were closed. Also, I was looking for a Disneyland Railroad Engineer hat, but was only able to find a Conductor's hat.. Lastly, there were no hats for the Disneyland Monorail.
Love the themes and decor, and the perks that come with staying at a Disneyland resort hotel. The headboard that lights up and plays music (and serves as a great nightlight) is lovely.
We had a room in the Adventure Tower facing Downtown Disney this time, and while we didn't care about the view (in this case, plants from the Adventure garden blocked pretty much anything we could see from the 2nd floor), what we didn't like was how loud the music was from Downtown Disney. We also learned that although we could only see a tiny amount of fireworks from Disneyland, we could hear all of them and they were pretty much as loud as they are when you're in the park. I'm still shocked that my kids slept through the music and fireworks that first night. On our third night, the older one was still awake when they started and used earplugs to get to sleep. The live music didn't stop until 10 pm even on weeknights, which meant we didn't get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the room (after being in the parks all day) until then. If you're not bothered by noise, it won't be a problem, but if you are, consider requesting a pool-view room.
Everyone was friendly and helpful
Our room was great, and so was every cast member.
I couldnt buy the throw pillow which was on each bed.
Classic Disney Service & Hospitality
Traveled as a multi-generational family group. We greatly appreciated how soundproof this hotel is. Plenty of water pressure at the right temperature too. And enough elevators for minimal wait time.
We could have used electrical outlets for cell phones at the bedside but this is a minor improvement suggestion.
The special touch of Disney is exemplified in the thought and care that goes into the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. With everything from Sleeping Beauty headboards that light up to the artwork that was the foundation of Disney, the Disneyland hotel serves as a reminder of all that makes people smile.
Just as Walt Disney pushed the envelope of art and technology, the Disneyland Hotel keeps things up to date and ahead of the curve. The rooms are just the beginning. The two gargantuan waterslides bring guests into the air and then swirling down in a rush of fun. Guests can also just sit and chill in the Mickey Spa and Minnie Spa whirlpools. By paying an extra fee, guests can indulge themselves in a private cabana that sits poolside, quietly amidst the action yet unaffected by the activity.
For food, the choices are just as well-crafted. Steakhouse 55 has steaks, seafood, and the right types of wine to top it off. On the other side of the style spectrum is Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. Guests can have some fun while enjoying a tasty breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen or have an island-inspired experience at Tangaroa Terrace.
Guests also have the option of staying in one of several signature suites. The options range as far as the imagination: guests can live their fantasies as pirates, princesses, or explorers. There is also the option of living large VIP style in the Mickey Mouse Penthouse.
The Disneyland Hotel is a great place for guests to explore their inner child and invite him or her to come out and play. It’s an equally great location to bring children to allow them to be the kid—or pirate—they want to be.
