Not one time during boarding or waiting at the gate was I talked to about behavior or anything that might be reasons for removal off the plane. Crappy customer services I don't think they handled this very well at all."

When I checked in at Cork the ground staff could only give me a boarding card for the first flight. For the second one she said I would have to go to the Delta counter in Amsterdam. It was difficult to find a counter there or staff as check-in was all by computer. The computer kept saying 'error' when I put in my code. I eventually was directed to a KLM desk (nicely hidden). I was told that my seat no longer existed. At this point the flight was ready to board. Thankfully the KLM ground staff were extremely helpful and reassuring and upgraded my ticket to economy comfort. On the way back, I could only get a boarding card for my first flight. The second two I had to collect at the boarding gate of the second flight."

Cons: "When I drove up Toronto’s Pearson Airport, I expected the usual check-in process upon entry for my flight from Toronto to Warsaw (with connecting flights in Halifax and Frankfurt). However, my first surprise, despite me asking ahead of time, was that my small check-in bag would could $100 CDN instead of the $25.00 I was quoted. Despite the WestJest/Condor representatives best effort, I was told that I would, unfortunately, have to pay for the baggage despite the quote I was given. I paid the fee, was given tracking numbers, and asked for my boarding passes. I found it odd that my final flight from Frankfurt to Warsaw did not print out. I asked if this would be a problem for me and my bags arriving on timed, and I was told it would not be, as it is sometimes the case that passengers have to print out boarding passes at the next stop. I flew to Halifax and asked for a boarding pass from Frankfut to Warsaw (which I was told was still a Condor plane), and it was printed for me. Upon arriving in Frankfurt and waiting patiently, something inside caused me to ask about the status of my bags. To my utter shock, and the genuine honesty of my Condor representative in Germany, I was told that my next flight would actually be LOT (Polish Airlines) flight, and that my bags needed to be picked up from baggage claim and checked into my LOT flight. With less than 10 minutes left before boarding and the suggestion of an honest Condor official I was told not to bother trying to go to baggage claim and fill out a missing/delayed baggage claim at LOTs station in Warsaw Chopin Airport. At no point, despite my asking, was I ever informed about having to re-check bags I paid $100.00 to check-in. Moreover, at no point was I told that, on my flights from Toronto to Frankfurt, that everything from simple entertainment to food would cost significantly high cost (in Euros) to purchase. Be aware of these issues fellow travelers, and make sure you pay for food and entertainment (ahead of time) and make sure ALL your bags will be on WestJet/Condor planes or they will NOT be transferred!"

Arriving safely after approx 12 hours for a 6 hour flight was the best part of the trip !"

Despite us getting held up in traffic and running quite late, staff members of both American Airlines and Qantas were extremely calming and reassuring the whole way through. Flight was extremely comfortable and entertainment was fantastic. Made the trip really easy."

My bag fit but I had to press the side in slightly to make it fit. She said it had to slide in without me pressing on it and proceeded to make me remove items from the bag in order to board the plane. I walked down the ramp with my extra pair of shoes and a book in my hands. As a result, I had to place my bag far from my seat due to the added time. My bag easily fit in the overhead compartment with room to spare and my being made an example was a completely pointless exercise."

While the plane was being cleaned our Co-pilot was reassigned. We waited on the plane while they scouted up a different co-pilot. This caused another delay. Staff did the best they could but the organizational incompetence was not lost on the passengers."

If I could have changed it myself they should have told me. On the way to Tampa on 3rd March I couldn't check in within 24 hours and had to wait half an hour while they changed our plane. BA used to do short science programmes which I loved. Shame these have finished."
Pros: "Fantastic customer service - from lounge to arrival gate. Unlike BA this airline does recognize its frequent flyers and upgrades us often to business. I fly a lot - Executive Platinum - and this makes a huge difference."

Cons: "I called customer service to ask questions about the meal options, and for both flights (14.5 hrs) they signed me up for the wrong meals! The staff on the first flight was extremely rude and unhelpful, and refused to let me eat any of the extra meals. Making matters worse, I had asked customer service when I called if they sell food on the flight, which I was told yes. This turned out to be untrue. I had to survive the 14.5 hour flight by only eating 3 tiny bags of pretzels. I sent an email to customer service to complain about this (can't do this over the phone), and didn't hear back for more than a month. On my return international flight, I was AGAIN signed up for the wrong meal (vegan) even though I specifically went over my dietary preference (vegetarian, eats eggs and dairy). Then my luggage was left in Vancouver while I made my way to Sydney, so I had to wear the same clothes for over 72 hrs while the airline "apologized" with giving me only $50. I finally got someone to respond to my complaints when I tweeted them, and their response was that I selected the vegan food option...NOPE, and that's not an apology. I will not fly them again. (PS: they don't give eye masks or toothbrush/toothpaste on international flights even though other airlines do, and their selection of movies/TV shows is about half of other airlines)"

Also the clerk offered no apologies or remorse. Secondly the company thy I was then directed to, charged an additional $250 on top of my original flights for the changes/ cancellation. Also called them on two occasions and each clerk told me a different fee for these charges. Overall very, very disappointed."

Instead got GTE ~ we were told by agent at baggage drop that the flight was oversold and this means we're on standby so we have to go wait by the gate because he didn't know if we would get on the plane. So we stood for 2 hrs at the front of a line with 38 other standby passengers only to be told 10 mins before boarding, when someone FINALLY showed up, that we should go sit down, they're going to call by last names and to not worry because everyone has a seat!!! Utter shambles! Couldn't someone come out and tell us this earlier??!! Rude, uncourteous, unapologetic staff. Common courtesy would see people standing in line and deal with them first! One passenger was told she should have booked earlier although she bought at the same time as us - 3 months ago! Another couple 1 week ago and another since June. So the reason given that the tickets were bought late is untrue! We asked an agent why Air Canada would oversell tickets and was told it was business! Told him this was very dishonest of Air Canada, only to get back a very rude and frankly surprising answer- "I'm sure you do dishonest things at your work too!!" Not one Air Canada employee in this whole process took the time out to treat us like paying customers, or bothered to realise we have lives to get back to. My husband works for Parliament and had to be at work the next morning and this undue stress thinking that he wouldn't get to work caused him to experience a migraine of which he is a sufferer. I have flown countless times on various air lines and have never been treated like this before. After this experience I'm seriously considering this to be the last time I ever fly with Air Canada and will definitely be sharing my experience with colleagues, friends and family.
