Overview

Just off Interstate 65 near downtown, the Best Western Athens Inn, Athens, Alabama, makes an easy base for a weekend event or a longer stay, set within quick reach of the shopping, dining, and cultural sights of this north Alabama town, with a hot breakfast, free Wi-fi, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, and free parking. The setting puts the Limestone County attractions and the wider Tennessee Valley within an easy drive, and the highway access makes coming and going simple. The pool offers a refreshing pause when the Alabama sun is high. Athens sits in the rolling Tennessee Valley of north Alabama, an old courthouse town known for its spring strawberry festival and its lively fiddlers' convention, with the rocket city of Huntsville and its space center a short drive away, the lakes and back roads of Limestone County all around, and the Tennessee River close by. On festival weekends the town square fills with music and the smell of fresh strawberries.
