The staff is very helpful and friendly. Location is very central. Breakfast is nice. There are vending machines for water&snacks&hygine products :)

The rooms were warm but the toilets&showering area was cold, I was freezing when I got out of the shower. There’s coffe availible all the time in the kitchen but it tastes bad and theres only milk for coffee in the morning :(

  • Mediocre
    Feb. 2020

The building is an old one being renovated. So structurally very interesting. But the owner is clearly unaware of some basic requirements...while excelling on some other fronts. Crisp bedding, crisp room cleanliness etc. Are the positives

No heating in the rooms was a shocker. The AC is not connected. There is no soap in the showers or WCs. And the response is ....we are renovating. No lifts is a pain. Breakfast timings are weird....as is checkout time of 10 am. I mean seriously? In a vacation city....checkout is 10 am? Clearly the owner has much to assimilate from better hostel practices.

Really good breakfast with olives, tomatoes, feta, bread, cake, spreads, cereal, coffee, tea, hot choc. Lovely outside patio area. Location just a couple (dark) streets away from the plaka area, 10/15 min walk from the airport bus at Syntagma. Price was good in comparison to other hostels in the city. The staff were nice.

The mattress had a bunch of springs attempting to escape and thus, was rather uncomfortable. The dirty toilet paper bins needed more frequent emptying. Dorms were super basic, no personal lights and not enough sockets for beds. Only one hook per shower and the screen doors are quite see through.

    Its location.

Confirmed a private room with air-con, but when we arrived we were told they had no room for us. They overbooked, so its either a common occurrence and they don’t care about the issue or they do it on purpose. Long story short; we went from a private room with air-con to a dorm in the basement with no air-con. They guy who checked us in said management was willing to offer a dorm option at the same price as our private, then immediately followed with a discounted offer after we complained. We regretfully accepted it and took it as we were tired and just ready to settle. We dropped our belongings, got something to eat and came back. The room smelled, and we discovered there was no air-con. Since we didnt use the beds we asked about our other options. Mgmt said if we cancel we would lose half of our money because of normal cancelation policies. They offered us a little more off the cost and Provided us with a fan. I guess that helped some. Before we went to bed, we were happy to use the laundry facilities, and took showers; which didnt look like they’ve been cleaned in about 3 months and smelled of urine. The water was either extremely hot or super cold, when you found a nice balance someone would flush a toilet and it was go to scolding hot. So then you go back to playing hot or cold again. I guess i cant complain, they definitely have hot water and i have clean clothes. My partner got a normal top bunk and i took was was more like a makeshift cot i could feel springs in my butt and the pillow was like a pile of tissues. I used some of my clothes instead of it. It was definitely a melatonin night. The fan did help. Since we only took one night, we needed somewhere to stow our baggage, its not for free. 2 euro to stow luggage in a locker, you cant access it anytime you want and you lose your 2 euro when you’re done. Even though we enjoyed the use of some of their amenities, i wouldn’t recommend staying here.
