Cons: All good
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything else! Very nice hosts, friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent continental breakfast and as said, even if room was not "roomy" it came with all the expected commodities . We do recommend !
Cons: the room was quite clean with good bedding, just a bit small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jan and Glen are just a delightful couple and their breakfasts are the best we had on our 2 week trip around the area. We were sad we didn't have enough time to take in the local entertainment they offer in the barn on their property, it would have been nice to hear a local musician play but our limited time didn't give us the chance to capitalize on this option.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were gracious and shared the history of how they came to be B&B hosts. The hosts prepared an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs to order and bacon. Cereals, breads, muffins and superb fruit preserves provided a wonderful experience. Their attention to sustainable conservation was appreciated. Of the 10 B&B's we stayed at in the Canadian Maritimes, they had the nicest breakfast. The close proximity to Baddeck was great. The style inside the main house and rooms were open, airy and nicely decorated.
Cons: We enjoyed the full stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The bed and breakfast is both quaint and beautiful, unique and homey, charming and gorgeous. The owners were some of the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve had the privilege to meet. We regret we couldn’t stay longer and spend more time. The breakfast was delicious, with special touches like homemade jam, homemade salsa with eggs, and delicious bread. We slept like a charm and it was exactly what we wanted. It would be an absolute first recommendation for Cape Breton/Nova Scotia are. We felt like family and like we were at home!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Lovely B&B with friendly Scottish hosts, comfortable and clean facilities and delicious breakfast. A good starting point to drive the Cabot Trail.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean, nice presentation of facilities. Owners had lots going on but were still very attentive to details. Making us feel most welcome.
Cons: Squeaky floors... But you have to expect that from an old farmhouse. Part of the character.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was unique! Our hosts served Apple Pie Pancakes - delicious! The bed was comfortable, there was a homemade quilt that could be used on the bed for cooler nights. Overall a great stay.
Cons: The floors creaked, but that is typical of old houses.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location!!!!

Cons: Only concern was everyone had to eat at 8AM. No flexibility.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: John, our host left no attention to detail. Not only was our room very comfortable, the location great, and the breakfast delicious, but John’s tales were riveting and hilarious. Such a charming and very nice man
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked as our last night before heading back to the UK. Was surprised we had our own private cabin as this wasn’t clear on booking.com. Gorgeous location, quiet and peaceful. Very well equipped.
Cons: Nothing to do with the property, just the details on booking.com weren’t clear.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cabin with a hot tub in a beautiful town with decent restaurant choices. Also very good mission Alexander Graham Bell nearby.
Cons: It was farther from the National Park than I thought it would be so that meant doing a lot of driving just to get into the park (1 1/2 hours each way).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was super friendly and informative.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We just stayed in the loft, it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy a community breakfast even once, that was not out accommodation category. The room, loft greatly exceeded our expectations there was nothing I could possibly find fault with. The host was great gave us checkin tips for places to eat things to do . the only complaint or regret I have is only staying 3 nights, we should have stayed a minimum of 2 days longer and perhaps in the B&B rooms.
Cons: The days went to fast, so we will probably back all 4 of us to see and d more, cruise the lake, museum and perhaps swim
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything especially John the owner. He was very helpful with everything we asked of him. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful stay with John who is full of stories of the island, Alexander Graham Bell, and (in)famous inn visitors. It was hard to know what was truth or fiction, but it was all entertaining. He gives you the best Cape Breton map that you should follow to the tee for some of the best experiences. The rooms are spacious with good amenities. Ours had a bice view of the lake though we might go for one of the other rooms next time. We had a separate bath that was spacious and well stocked. Breakfast was tasty, served buffet style, with lots of coffee. Bring your caffeinated teas, if you want that instead.
Cons: The door was loud and squeaky which was hard given my husband is a nightly bathroom user. We had a separate bath. Some WD-40 would be great! The bathroom shower which is a modified claw foor tub is hard to use without wetting their beautiful floors. We could have used some instructions on accessing water.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location with lovely grounds. Very friendly and engaging host with great stories.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, fantastic staff who could not do enough (especially in the restaurant!), great location, fairly quiet, comfy beds

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location, clean, efficient, attached restaurant was very practical.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I was impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and how comfortable the beds were. The breakfast was very nice, and we also had dinner in the restaurant as well...which was delicious, and bonus...had live music.
Cons: Disappointed that I had to pay more because I booked through booking.com. Apparently if I book right through the hotel it is cheaper. I thought I had a good deal because I was genius, so that was a bummer.
7.1 Good
Pros: The facilities were nice and very close to everything.
Cons: The room was too crowded with 2 beds, 2 chairs - there was not enough room to have 2 people and their luggage. We were only staying for 1 night so not a big deal. I would not have wanted to stay for more than one night though.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location and food was very good.
Cons: It may sound petty however for the money you pay however I found the rooms were not overly clean, I also found the towels to be extremely thin and small, on the second day they only gave us one towel, we had to go and ask for more, no blow dryer.

Pros: Wonderful staff! Nice restaurant on site, perfect playground, nice pool, lovely walking trail behind the property. Perfect for kids.
Cons: breakfast buffet was pretty expensive for what you get. better to order à la carte! walking into town along a busy road was not so convenient.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A lovely and well maintained setting overlooking the lake. Our chalet was comfortable with a small kitchenette, large comfortable bed, outdoor seating area and super views of the lake. We didn’t eat in the restaurant so cannot comment. It was a very short drive into Baddeck town itself or a just over a mile to walk in. This is a great location from which to explore the Cabot Trail.
Cons: Bathroom was small but not a major issue for us.

7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable beds. Great location.
Cons: The shower did not work properly...and although we reported the problem to the front desk on our first morning, it still had not been fixed at the end of our 4 night stay. Much water was wasted as a result of the problem.
7.5 Good
Pros: Restaurant on property was good and convenient.
Cons: Bathtub with very high sides was dangerous and I did not take a shower In it. Bed only fair in comfort.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very good location. Helpful stuff. Has a good upscale restaurant in the facility. Very good Wifi service all around the facility. Good (free) coffee in the morning - Way better than the (overpriced) coffee at a breakfast place across the street
Cons: Very limited TV and cable service (not good quality at all). No breakfast facility.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is as good as it gets in Baddeck. Views of the water are spectacular, walking distance to almost everything in downtown.
Cons: No air conditioning in our unit, but is available in some, you do need it since the lights in the parking lot require you to close your curtains even though the nights are moderately cool in late August. Their internet WIFI did not work, not for lack of trying. They apologized for that and had multiple Bell Atlantic people working on it. No fault on their part. Would definitely stay there again. The staff are extremely nice.
8.8 Excellent

Cons: The room was a bit basic-lacking in charm.

Pros: The location was great. The dining room provided an excellent meal. We had lobster and the desserts were divine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect. Staff were very helpful. They gave us some choices of rooms when we arrived. Coffee good in lobby in the am.
Cons: We were on third floor so would recommend lower floor as no elevator. They do not serve breakfast but lots of choices near by. When we did arrive, people were having supper on the deck and we felt like we were intruding as we wheeled our suitcases past them, no other entrance available.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was in the heart of Baddeck with most things within walking distance!
Cons: We stayed in one of the rooms outside the main house which was okay, but very much felt like a motel. We had hoped to be able to stay in one of the rooms in the historic main house, but that's not anyone's fault really.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was a cottage behind main building. Furnishings were dated but ok. The meal at the restaurant was superb. The young man who cleaned the room went above and beyond.
Cons: Room needs new curtains or shades.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The dining room cuisine was excellent. Location very central to everything.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Staff. I answered question on Trip Advisor that, yes, they did have a concierge. Anyone would help you with anything. People everywhere in Nova Scotia are so friendly. Location: only place we didn't care to drive to was Baddeck Lobster Dinner. 5 blocks. Ceiligh site and Bell museum close. Across the street from harbor.
Cons: Bathroom plugin for charging only worked when the light was on. Limited plugins. Stairs a little steep for creaky knees.
6.3 Good
Pros: Food and service was excellent
Cons: The beds were no good, particularly the two single beds were awful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the room, the outdoor patio, the food & the people were So Friendly.
Cons: Everything was Great
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was provided in the adjoining Yellow Cello restaurant. The food was great and the wait staff were very friendly. The accommodation is very close to main harbor and within walking distance to several good restaurants.
Cons: The accommodation was more cottage style and not what we were expecting. The twin beds were too soft and felt like you could roll off the mattress. Although we were not expecting air conditioning, the available fans were too small and old to be effective.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location and would love to have stayed for Breakfast, but like most of Nova Scotia, PEI and NB nothing seems to open until 8:00 am. Our travel plans forced us to forgo breakfast ,something we regretted, since we payed for it, but we had to get to Digby to catch a ferry back to the States.
Cons: Everything was great but we could not wait until 8:00 am to enjoy breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great and included. Such a nice server! A private deck was connected to the room and had a nice view of the lake. Lovely location.
Cons: Our room was serviceable, albeit a bit oddly shaped. (A former fishing lodge.) Very small bedrooms but the common space outside our room seemed like our own living room so it helped with the limited room space. It could also use some updated brochures, but if you like seeing the history of a place, the older things there were interesting.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our room had a great balcony with view of the water. Room was comfy and nicely decorated.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, hospitable host. Generous with her time and with great information about Baddeck activities, Perfect location in midst of village. Good breakfast in restaurant attached to lodging.
Cons: Steep hillside location , narrow rough sidewalk at entrance is a bit of a concern for visitors with mobility issues. Twin bed mattresses very soft, comfortable enough for one night but not the best for senior sleepers. Double bed mattress in adjoining room is perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay. Staff was very kind and friendly, and really made us feel welcomed. The lodge feel of the lower level was stunning, and breakfast was wonderful. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great, walking distance to everywhere. The room itself was fine but very small.
Cons: There was no access to any type of kitchen facilities (there was a mini fridge, glasses etc). If there were other guests staying it would have felt super cramped. The room is good for sleeping but that's about it. (As it was we had the place to ourselves which was just great.)

Cons: WiFi did not exist as advertised and was excused as overloaded. Somekind of plumbing leak in under the tube had the carpet wet just outside of the wall to the tub.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff wonderful and location spectacular close to Bell Bay golf course.
Cons: Rooms were tired in need of updating. Need to include inroom fridge.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is fabulous. Exterior is beautiful. Manicured grounds, well maintained buildings
Cons: Unit interior was depressing. Very tired, needs remodelling....badly! Bath tiles full of mildew, bath sink had broken arborite. Carpet and bed covers looked ancient, but linens were clean. Felt like a tired old motel room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice breakfast, short walk to restaurants
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Were very accommodating for traveling with and infant. They put a mini fridge, microwave and kettle in the room for us! Great location in relation to town. Less then a minute drive.
Cons: A bit outdated - tired.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location. Nice Continental Breakfast to start our day.
Cons: Room conditions in the Skye Lodge. Arrived late at night and the first room we were given was not in very good condition. Moved to another room for the second night, which was better, but had a bad odour. I believe they are working on updating these rooms, but would not stay in their Skye Lodges again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was in a nice room with a nice selection. Muffins were very nice! Our room was in the MacDonald block of rooms, on the ground floor and had a very nice view of the water.
Cons: Décor was a little outdated, but cleanliness and friendly staff are much more important.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Awesome happy staff that go the extra mile and a drop dead gorgeous location. Dog friendly and great for kids.
Cons: Older motel so bathroom felt dated but it was very clean.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautifull scenery by the water. Good breakfast.
Cons: Internet was super slow.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Ok value but tired
Cons: Toilet door couldnt close. Front door hard to close. The building has dropped so doors are jamming and need easing

Pros: Stayed for a wedding. Room was large and inviting. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was amazing. Wedding supper one of the best ever. Grounds beautiful. Could not ask for more.
Cons: Really there was nothing I could say I did not like.
6.3 Good
Pros: OK location, easy walk to downtown Baddeck, NS. The Grounds are very large and well maintained. Also, the Restaurant was reasonably priced with excellent staff. And as a bonus they have local musicians in at night, with the quality varying accordingly.
Cons: The room was very old feeling, Looked and felt that it has not been updated in 50 years. Floor very uneven , water faucets sort of worked, just felt old.
7.1 Good
Pros: The grounds are beautiful especially the restaurant’s waterfront setting . We enjoyed our evening meal at the Lakeside Restaurant.
Cons: The rooms need renovation - the washrooms are particularly tired looking and outdated. While we enjoyed our evening meal at the Lakeside Restaurant, the breakfast buffet was very unimaginative and disappointing - cold scrambled eggs, shrivelled sausages and plain white bread for toast along with a hard melon fruit offering with yogurt. While the staff were friendly and attentive in replenishing coffee the buffet table was not attended to as it should have been.
