Went to check in and was given a room that REEKED of cigarette smoke. Went downstairs to ask for a new room and they sent a cleaning staff member up with a can of Glade to try to mask the scent. Eventually I was given a new room after it obviously still smelt of cigarettes. Had to get 2 single beds instead of the double bed I had booked though. No sympathy’s we’re extended for this. Pros (+) What a lovely hotel in a fantastic location! We loved the hotel itself and everything about it. Rooms were clean, large and well organized. There is a lovely bar on the top floor with excellent drinks. On top of that, the hotel is right off the Plaza Catalunya, where all the different buses meet. Pros (+) Great wifi at high speed. Great location. Attentive staff. Decent prices.
Cons (-) Not a great breakfast buffet, but satisfactory. No slippers in the rooms so needed to bring my own slippers. The floors were not clean. They seemed sticky. We had two rooms but one had free water and the other charged 2.5 euros for same water.
