Just make sure to account for the Barcelona traffic in the morning, it was very hectic. Google maps was all over the place at times so have a back up navigation system. Also be ready to pay for tolls, a lot of them from BCN to south France.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent car rental attempt at Barcelona Airport. Despite having a confirmed reservation and providing all required details, including my credit card from Kosovo, I was informed upon arrival that Budget does not accept credit cards from my region. This refusal caused significant inconvenience and additional expenses, as I had to secure a rental from another company, GoldCar, at four times the original cost. Furthermore, at no point during the reservation process was I informed of this regional restriction, which I find unacceptable.

1. there are not much time to drive in Barcelona in 3days. public transportation looks better for traveler. 2. inferior surface of front bumper scar which was charged 180 euros for me There is an unfair aspect of charging for scratches on the lower part of the vehicle. When the vehicle was first delivered, a 360-degree video was taken, but the lower structure of the vehicle bumper was not taken. When I was charged for the lower scratch of the front bumper, I felt a lot of unfairness.

When picking up my vehicle, they insisted I take a hybrid vehicle saying it was going to get better mileage for the price and save me on gas but it had worse mileage compared to the vehicle I had reserved, so I really just paid more for gas and more for the vehicle they upsold me on. There was no financial benefit.

Everything was great with the rental until we dropped the car off in Madrid after 10 days and discovered we didn't have a spare tire for the whole trip. We were lucky that we never needed the spare. Not great attention to detail by Hertz in Barcelona. Lesson learned I will always check the spare tire from now on.

It was absolutely shocking, the car we had was an orange Volkswagen T Roc it had an oil leakage and the car broke down in the middle of Cambrils and we were left stranded as Hertz done absolutely nothing we clocked the SOS button in the car and we spoke to the people on the other side who said they sent out the police and a maintenance team. They did not, we were stuck at the side of a road in a foreign country for 5 hours waiting to be helped. We phoned the customer service who said they would send up a tow truck and the police too, and they again did not. We had to contact the police and the Road side team who them closed off the side of the road but they did not help us at all. The police finally came and again they could not help us so we were left stranded until we got a €250 taxi back to the airport. We had to go to the airport Hertz who gave us a car for “free” but I checked my bank account to see £500+ has been taken out my account for this absolutely shocking service. I was informed we would have got a taxi to Alicante for free and our money back but we have clearly gotten neither and when this was explained to us over the phone by customer services they then said that it was only a taxi to Barcelona airport. Shocking absolutely horrific.

Car broke down and took them one and half days for the problem to be resolved leaving my wife, two little kids and myself stranded in a 200 people town for two days and unable to enjoy the ski trip that we had booked and paid.

I was informed at the time of pick-up that the car was a full electric car and the only other option was 150 euros on top of what we already paid, which was not feasible for us. I explained that we were traveling to an extremely remote area of Spain and it ended up to turn out to be a terrible experience. We were told we could plug the car into a house, however there was no adapter provided to do this. In addition, part of the charging port in the front of the car was blocked off so we were not able to plug in the high-speed charger into the car so we had to wait 2.5 for the car to charge sitting in petrol station parking lots three times over the course of 2 days. All in all it was a terrible experience. Electric cars should only be rented within city limits or it should be more clear in the booking.
