Stains on wall. Tv didn't work properly. One member of staff wasn't helpful.
This is very much a family business small and comfortable. Do not be deceived by the outward appearance; the location is in a residential area and at first I was put off by it. However inside the lodge it was welcoming, the room was spacious, very clean and the facilities very adequate for my 2 night stay. I was initially worried about my car being tampered with by the local residents; this was an unnecessary concern. These facilities are suitable for anyone wanting an overnight stay before going to Birmingham Airport, backpackers staying in Birmingham for a few nights or anyone going on a small business trip. There is free Wi-Fi and the parking is also free . I would definitely recommend Prime Lodge to anyone seeking basic facilities; it is definitely value for money.
The TV channels were limited and did not function very with the facilities on the room. Too many glitches and frequently loss signals.
Staff allowed us to swap rooms when we were very uncomfortable with the first one allocated to us.
Prior to staying we requested a non smoking room. On arrival the room given to us smelled very badly of smoke and damp. After attempting to air the room out for about 4hrs, we were given a second room, next-door. The room looked better than the previous on first glance. But silverfish were crawling across the carpet and there were broken tiles with jagged edges in the bathroom. If you get what you pay for then it should be reduced from £40 a night (which we paid) to about £25 a night. That price would reflect the rooms far better.
The staff are friendly and the facilities are clean and comfortable. I travel weekly so it has become my home away from home and appreciate having somewhere which is private and consistent in what it provides. It is great value for money and not far from local shops and the city centre. I would recommend it for customers that are happy with the basics and not overly concerned with luxury.
The single room can get stuffy and needs airing at times. They used to provide a free bottle of water and biscuits but this has stopped.
Parking was great, the woman was really helpful, the room looked homely and the bed was so comfy
There was 1 woman doing all the work, the TV was on an old aerial and was impossible for us to work had to keep asking the woman, gangs was outside and there was loads of noise, another person staying was screaming down the phone loud and late, the area wasn't good
