Top tips for finding the perfect Birmingham hotel

Would you like to see a performance during your trip to Birmingham? Consider booking a hotel near the Birmingham Symphony Hall, one of the world's most famous concert halls and home to the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. The modern Crowne Plaza hotel at the City Centre location is just a 9-minute walk from the Symphony Hall, while the budget Premier Inn is a 6-minute walk away.
If you’re a motor vehicle enthusiast, consider staying at the Genting Hotel or the Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC, as both of these choices are only a 4-minute drive from the National Motorcycle Museum. This museum features over 1000 motorcycles that have all been restored to the manufacturer’s original specifications, and the oldest machine in the museum dates back to 1898.
For travellers interested in the industrial past of Birmingham, consider booking one of the hotels near the Shakespeare Express, a functioning steam train in England that provides a relaxing day for tourists to enjoy the beauty of the English countryside. The Best Western Westley Hotel is an affordable choice and only 3 minutes by car to the train’s main station.
If you want to explore the unique heritage of Birmingham, consider staying in a hotel near the Winterbourne House and Garden, a restored Edwardian manor with beautiful antiques and a botanical garden. The classic red-brick Birmingham Marriott Hotel is conveniently located and a short distance from Winterbourne, while the centrally-located modern Hotel Indigo is just a 9-minute drive from the manor.
Hoping to find an activity that is fun for your entire family? Choose a hotel near Cadbury World, a museum where you can go on self-guided tours to discover the behind-the-scenes world of chocolate making and the history of Cadbury. Built by the Cadbury’s, the Beeches Hotel is set amongst 5 acres of gardens and is only a 4-minute drive from the exhibit.

Pro " The flat was quite nicely furnished and clean and as a bonus they came in and cleaned it each day. "
Con " I went for the premium one bedroom apartment because the booking advertised a city view. I was looking forward to that and was very disappointed to be shoved into a ground floor apartment with windows you could barely open which looked over a grubby internal courtyard with staircase. Also the advertised satellite and pay per view channels were not there. Check in was perfunctory and a little rushed. Whilst the location is good there are much better options in Birmingham in terms of apartment layout, furnishing and comfort, especially when the advertised "city view" is just a lie. "

Con " The lighting was so dull - the main light in the room didn't work! For the price (£135 not including breakfast) for a double deluxe, I was expecting more but the room was decidely average. No adjacent hotel parking available and the price on here for parking quotes £7 when it actually cost £11. "

C$ 177
8.7 Excellent (530 reviews)
Pro " Not a thing, advertised as a hotel which it is not, on checking in made a comment of oh this was advertised as a hotel - response was ‘oh we are not a hotel’ "
Con " Beware this is not a hotel by any means! They are purely renting out excess rooms when the conferences don’t take them all. Meal times are dictated and meals have to be pre ordered, breakfast between 8-9, dinner must be pre ordered that morning. Bar doesn’t open until 6, so and offer of tea and coffee was accepted, coffee that comes straight from the ‘bean to cup’ is actually peculated. Musty bathroom so bad it could barely be used. Cramped rooms, which are well worn and in desperate need to updating. So bad we stayed one night and moved to an actual hotel. Lights all turned off, not inviting or welcoming attitude at all. Oh and freezing cold. Avoid like the plague plenty more b&b’s and hotels in the area! "
C$ 117
8.6 Excellent (5,716 reviews)
Pro " Comfortable bright room. Comfortable beds. Nice bathroom. "
Con " No where to sit to dry hair and apply makeup in front of a mirror "
C$ 202
