Staff were very accomodating, helped us find food after the restaurant closed that we could eat at the hotel. The coffee from the bar is excellent, too. The room was in a brilliant spot to get to Arena Birmingham (5mins on foot if that - and I walk slow!) The rooms are simple but very comfortable and clean. I have chronic pain and usually struggle to sleep in any bed that isn't mine but here I slept very well. Excellent value for the price!
The only thing I didn't like was the complimentary coffee in the room - just didn't taste very nice but we bought some of our own from the nearby spar so no big deal - it was free after all!
It was all amazin
All good again
Breakfast was lovely, Terry the chef was so kind, funny, polite and helpful with our breakfast choices.
I'd come back from a concert and decided to go to the bar for a quick drink before going to bed. We were waiting to be served, as there was only one bar staff on, who was busy trying to impress those he was serving with his gin mixing skills. I stood there choking because I was coughing so much and he could see that I was looking around for water, and not once did he stop to just offer me warer or ask if I was ok; it felt he was being racist towards me, as he could clearly see, if not hear me.
Very good location.
I read somewhere that the rooms were soundproof but this isn't true as there was a couple arguing at 4am on one of our nights.
