Good location and the member of staff at reception gave me some very helpful advice about the local area.
For my £63, my son and I received a bed and (a just about passable) breakfast. There are few creature comforts, but it does the job if all you are after is a bed for the night. Be aware that the online price may not include breakfast.
location, cleanliness, staff
The drying room and the self catering facilities were good
Excellent property and staff etc would use again great overall, stayed 1 night before welsh 3000s challenge and just needed a bed for the night, good value, clean pleasant environment
We stayed on a hot day and it was uncomfortably warm in the room, not expecting air con or anything but it was quite hard to ventilate the room and everybody therein had an uncomfortable nights sleep/not sleep. Maybe something as simple as a fan could have improved the situation?
The staff were helpful, and even grabbed me some salt from their kitchen after it was shut for my cooking. The facilities was excellent, clean and well maintained. The rules and guidelines were clear and my autistic son loved the clear rules yet freedom to do what you wanted. The drying room was a great help, even though we had to make a trip back because we forgot to take our cozzies when we left. The pod was cosy and fun, clean and comfortable. We walked from Llanberis YHA, up Telegraph path (I think), and joined the Snowdon Ranger Path, to reach the summit of Snowdon. Then we came down the Miners Path, and so glad we didn’t go up that way (it felt a long rocky scramble down), though after the rocky bit the Miners Path is very picturesque. We got a bus from Pen y Pas back to Llanberis, with a 8-10min walk back to the YHA. We’d definitely stay there again. My kids are aged 10,12, and 14, and we loved our stay there.
The lack of view at the summit, though not the fault of the YHA!
