Padama Hotel - Callao - Building

7.1 Good (531 reviews)
C$ 56+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Padama Hotel in Callao, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Minka Shopping Centre and Ovalo Market of Huandoy. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
2.2 Mediocre
Pros: It was close to the airport.
Cons: This place was $50 a night for a hard bed, no air conditioning, thin walls and a very sketchy neighborhood. They also charged us for the breakfast that was supposed to be free, charged us USD for water in the room that has a price listed in Sols. Finally they charged us $20 USD for transportation from the airport, which was a total rip off. The same taxi ride in Cusco from the airport to a hotel that was about the same distance for only 10 Sols! Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: I had to bridge some time with my family between flights in Lima but didn't have time (or need!) to go to the touristy places. For that, Padama is an excellent choice: Very friendly and helpful staff, safe place inside, excellent rooms with everything one needs, nice beds, nice warm showers. A bit Spartan but complete and warm breakfast (on top 6th flow with nice view). Staff helped to get my laundry done for a few bucks.
Cons: Even though it is about 1km from airport, can't find a taxi taking you there below S/45. (Hotel helps with return to airport for S/30.) The neighborhood would look very poor by US-standards. It's probably working class people focused on raising their families and relatively save as that. But I would definitely "stick out" as a gringo, so I would not advise running around the neighborhood gratuitously, and definitely not at night. Let the friendly staff call you a taxi. Considering its distance from downtown or tourist areas, this is not a good base to visit Lima. As most places in South America, wifi is weak. We slept well, but the noise in the open staircase can propagate the whole place at times when people check in. (No elevators! But staff helps with luggage.)
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nice staff, however in sketchy part of city! No restraunt or store near by ! Got woke up by crowing roosters:(
Cons: Location
5.0 Okay
Pros: Proximity to the airport.
Cons: In the evening we were told the hotel could provide shuttle/cab to airport. Was told 10 sol for the 5 min ride to airport......next morning they (the hotel) said 30 sol. Which is rediculous for a 5 min ride. Considering we have taken many half hour cabs for the same price around Lima. Didn't want to argue at 4am though. Pretty sure we got ripped off.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I had an eleven hour layover at LIM airport and decided to stay at Padama. The shuttle service, $20 USD, was well worth the price for the convenience and stress free experience. You are given more than you deserve when paying $30 or less a night for a room. Breakfast is included (eggs, bread, coffee, and a juice concoction). There is no elevator, but the staff will carry your bags up the stairs for you (there are 6 stories). My room had no AC, but I slept well with the provided fan. It was only 70 degree highs when I visited in May. If you are looking for amenities such as an iron board, fast wifi, business center, etc., stay at one of the airport hotels. Bring a wash cloth as none are provided, but towels are. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would stay here again.
6.7 Good
Pros: No hand towel
7.0 Good
Pros: the place is very close to airport and good for staying overnight awaiting next flight.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to airport
Cons: No a/c and room was very hot. No elevator, we had to carry our bags up to the 3rd floor. A cockroach flew off one of our bags when we arrived back at the airport.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. We couldn’t sleep. Bed is not comfortable. And sheets are very dirty, There were used sheets and pillowcases. the previous guest had hair. The room did not have air conditioning. it was not possible to sleep from heat and noise. There was noise until morning.
Cons: The hotel is close to the airport but there are night clubs around it. Although you closed the window, the noise was inside the room. It did not sleep until morning. Also, because it was very hot, the noise would be higher if we wanted to open a camo. the hotel owners were also very uninterested. Sleeping at the airport is a better option than staying at this hotel. the comments here do not reflect the truth.

9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a beautiful, coastal neighborhood, nice staff, decent hot water and internet, nice, spacious room.
Cons: I feel this place would be a better value for what you get at $20-25/night. Then again, I left in the middle of the night and so didn't really get to take advantage of all they had to offer (e.g., breakfast).
10.0 Excellent
