The flight left 45 min late to Lima and arrived 20 min late. We ran to the Avianca counter and they then told us we were too late to make the change after 10 min of talking. We all missed our flight to bogota as a result and they told us flippantly we would have to pay to fly the next morning because the next flight that night was full. They then tried to dismiss us with a phone number to call to get help. After I protested, the supervisor finally cane over and after explaining how many times we were not helped and given false info, she finally miraculously found seats on the next flight and put us on it, in the very back of the plane even though there were many seats throughout the plane available. It should NEVER have come to that. I am disgusted with Avianca's customer service."

We are African American and were treated poorly compared to the two Peruvian men who missed their flight as well. Avianca has a problem if this is its policy."

There were a lot of empty seats, so I was surprised to see such a large plane used for a short domestic flight. Additionally, the crew gave me incorrect information about connecting internationally from Lima that, if I had followed those instructions, we would have missed our connecting flight. I'm glad I asked another Avianca rep once inside the airport."

Cons: "The boarding process was poor. The flight was delayed and there was not explanation at the gate that there was a delay or why. I don't understand why our carry on bags needed to be searched. We were put in a line with only one person doing the bag checks while the other line had over two people checking bags."

Cons: "I arrived 3 hours early to my flight, which I had been notified that morning of a 2hr delay. Fortunately the woman who checked me in realized there was 1 seat available on the last flight that would get me to Lima in time for my connection flight (departing same time as my flight pre-delay). She personally got me to the front of the line, and ran with me just about to the gate, where I caught a shuttle to the plane. If she hadn't done so, and if I hadn't checked in so early, I would have been forced to stay in Lima 24hrs, despite buying a rightful seat and having reservations in Buenos Aires. It is appalling and unacceptable that y'all continue to overbook flights, causing incredible trouble, inconvenience and potential harm to your customers. For a service that costs so much, the only acceptable delays are weather and mechanically related. if it hadn't been for amazing staff immediately, I would've been furiously waiting in a city I didn't need or want to be in. Customer service will continue to grow your business or impede it negatively-- how y'all act is up to you. I appreciate how well I was taken care of by several kind individuals."

Cons: "My flight was delayed more than 9 hours, and I do understand the fact that this happens. What I can't understand is LATAM waiting until I arrived to the airport to tell me that it was delayed (instead of calling or sending an email) and told me that it is MY FAULT for not reviewing the website. In addition, at the counter they told us that we didn't need to do a line again for dropping bags in the morning. However, when we arrived the next morning we had to do a 40 minute line. The pain was compounded by a member of the staff yelling at me for asking him to be moved to a quicker line because I could miss my flight. I've always flown on Lan (now Latam) and I've never had this bad experience before. I'm really disappointed!!"

Cons: "Mi primera experiencia en Latam no fue nada buena, mi vuelo latam2005 de lima-cusco el día 3/10/16 se retrasó por 2 horas debido a un supuesto mantenimiento de ultima imprevisto, creo que son cosas que deben detectarse antes para hacer un cambio de avión y no hacer al pasajero perder su tiempo...el 2do vuelo de cusco-lima Latam 2020 día 6-10-16 también se retrasó con 1 hora debido a que viajaban demasiadas personas y necesitaban voluntarios para viajar en el próximo vuelo. La verdad no creo volver a viajar con Latam."

Pros: "The meal offerings given my "special" menu request (vegetarian) was better than expected, portions were of a nice quantity, the food wasn't bland, and in terms of variety they offered a good food selection. The available entertainment catalog (movies, TV shows, etc) was vast, and included recently released films. I also love that LAN offers pillows, blankets (of good, warm material) and headsets. The crew was attentive and helpful. The plane plane was clean, which is expected to be but not always ends up being that way."
Cons: "The plane looked like an older model, which is not a problem itself, the problems were: my seat was missing the cup holder ring (looked like it broke) meaning no place to keep a cup to drink water throughout the flight. The remote for the "t.v."/entertainment system, that is nestled on the side of the seat, wasn't working and the touch screen glitched (it would freeze, or kick me back to the root menu while I was browsing through options) Small technical problems that given the $$ flights cost, one expects them to work properly."

Cons: "Having flown with LAN multiple times the only time you receive good service is when you fly in Business Class. Recently I have been flying economy and from the moment checking in to leaving the plane is a terrible experience. I have had on numerous occasions when checking in at the airport that I was lied to regarding the seat I was in. Or there was more than one person with the same seat. Food and the wine is awful. I would not even eat it if I was starving. When flying the overnight/ morning flight they leave the cabin lights on pretty much the entire way, their excuse is that they need to serve dinner, but who serves dinner at 0500 in the morning anyways. My last flight I asked if I could borrow a pen, and they told me they do not give out pens to customers. I will never fly LAN again except for business class. On American Airlines they are a lot more friendlier. Also a shame that they do not have a way of recognising the people that fly with them frequently, I have flown with LAN 10 times in the last 12 months. They have a bad attitude."

Cons: "I have a very bad experience. The first flight was delayed, so many people including me missed the connecting flight. They kept us till 2AM at the airport and made us take out all our luggage before taking us to a hotel. Then, there was a Flight leaving the same day at noon, but instead of acommodating us there, they made us wait till 11:59 PM for the next flight. They told us that it was a direct flight as it was initially scheduled from Lima to La Paz, but that was not true as we had to stop in Santa Cruz first. To sum up, there was a 28-hour delay in total. I was supposed to get to La Paz on Jan. 28 and ended up arriving on the 29. No explanations were given, but it is clear that they oversold as all flights were full. Avoid this airline if you can."

Cons: "The flight itself was fine, but connecting through Mexico City airport is troublesome and time consuming. Mexican authorities make everyone go through a long line at customs. Since we checked in through Delta in San Antonio, we did not have a boarding pass for the Lima portion. , We had to exit into the main concourse to get our boarding pass. At that point we were on standby for seats and barely made our connection."

Being that this is mexico’s airline they must know it’s a literal impossibility to make that connection. When you arrive they automatically shuttle you into an area to rebook you almost like it’s expected. Then you wait for 8 hrs in a crowded ghetto airport waiting to get on the next flight. When you speak to customer service they talk to you like your a dummy."
