Room cleaning is good and every day. I didn’t have a problem with water, electricity and wi-fi during my staying. There are many markets, restaurants and beautiful garden by left side of house. The ride to the city of Cape Town is about 7 minutes by Uber-taxi.

Pros: Lovely guest house with extremely helpful owners, they made use very welcome and assisted us with transport to and from the airport and around the city. There tips on where to visit were also very appropriate. The location was great not too far from the city centre and well placed to visit the botanical gardens and Simons Town also a very safe neighbour hood. The guest house itself was very tastefully furnished and had a nice homely feel unlike some of the sterile places you can find in larger hotels. If we visit Cape Town again this is where we will stay.

Cons: Although breakfast was lovely on our second day, we had to leave too early on the first day, it may be an idea to have breakfast available for 6:30 during the week as working people staying at the Guesthouse would need to eat and get through traffic to be at work by 8.

Cons: a few teething problems when I got there - aircon was not strong and cooling the room when i first arrived - i had to leave it on when i left the room in the day (arguably it was a very hot day at 33degrees), side lights weren’t working so bulbs needed replacing, safe wouldn’t work. Manager was very quick to help and come to the room and assist and once all was sorted i had no other issues.

Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like and I highly recommend this place to everyone wanting to spend some time in Cape Town, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, yet in walking distance to shops (grocery stores, pharmacy, etc.) and UCT. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe in the area. And the helpfulness and friendliness of Sarah and the staff made my stay at Devonshire House even better.

Pros: For this trip, it was a perfect location in the southern suburbs close to where I needed to be. The room was very spacious and being an old house had high ceilings, wooden floors and appropriately old fashioned decor. My bathroom had a great mountain view (some of the other rooms must have true views). Yogurt, muesli and fresh fruit were just what I like for breakfast. Close to Rondebosch common around which I ran a couple laps. Kudus to the owners for being responsible about the water shortage. There was good signage, bucket in the shower and grey water to flush the loo.

Pros: For this trip, it was a perfect location in the southern suburbs close to where I needed to be. The room was very spacious and being an old house had high ceilings, wooden floors and appropriately old fashioned decor. My bathroom had a great mountain view (some of the other rooms must have true views). Yogurt, muesli and fresh fruit were just what I like for breakfast. Close to Rondebosch common around which I ran a couple laps. Kudus to the owners for being responsible about the water shortage. There was good signage, bucket in the shower and grey water to flush the loo.
Cons: The wi-fi was almost unusable (certainly could not handle a Skype call so I had to switch to 3G). I personally don't like stuffed animal heads on the walls.

Pros: The room was large, the king size bed very comfy, all amenities excellent. Selection of good wines and beers in the fridge, fruits, tea, coffee in the room. The property is beautiful, safe, quiet, well decorated. Very good breakfast as well.
