Pros: When you arrive at this location you’ll look around and think ‘this is where I’d want to live and grow old’. The view is magnificent and Mike and Greg make you feel right at home. Every day they serve a delicious breakfast with produce from their own garden and homemade cake in the afternoon. The cottage where we stayed was spacious and an experience without windows (don’t worry they have earbuds for the noise and all the windows have fly screens to keep the critters out). We loved it and would recommend it!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: What a fantastic B&B. If you started with a blank sheet and created a list of all features for tropical B&B, Ka'awa Loa ticks all the boxes. Lovely plantation style house, overlooking the ocean and sunsets, fantastic grounds, gorgeous verandah for breakfast and chilling out, really lovely breakfast spreads, afternoon cake of the day (fresh cooked), fast wifi, outdoor lava showers and spa, calming atmosphere and the list goes on. But the real winners are the team running it all - MIchael, Greg and Hannah (oh not to mention Coola the local and adorable hound dog). What lovely, hospitable people. We have stayed in many B&B's all over the world and this one is as good as any of the best we have stayed. There is a shared shower arrangement, but this in no way detracts from anything. We would stay here again, when on The Big Island, if we could get a booking. If you love stylish, calming, hospitable B&B's then this is your nirvana. Well done guys and a huge Mahalo!

Pros: Wow, this place was spectacular, after you got there! I didn't expect the narrow downhill road, but once managed, it's an easy navigation. Our room overlooked the ocean, perfect for a beautiful sunset view. My only complaint was that the extra bed my adult son slept on was a bit uncomfortable for him because of a center rod in the construction. Other than that, we couldn't believe our luck in finding this place to stay. Breakfast was delicious, all food served is produced on their farm, including the delicious coffee. Kurt is a wealth of information on the area and it's attractions. Highly recommended by my family of 4!

Cons: It didn’t bother us at all but it is worth noting for some that the last bit of road is difficult to navigate if arriving after dark

Pros: The owners, Kurt and Kana, are super friendly and helpful. I had the least expensive room, so it had no view, but I had access to a large deck that had a fantastic view. I also had to go down the hall (just a few steps) to a bathroom, but it was my own private bathroom.
Cons: The drive in was a little bit hairy, but not too bad. I would not have wanted to do it in the dark.
7.1 Good
Pros: The view was great, nice jungle feel to it. Kurt the owner is a great source of knowledge and was exceptionally helpful to us in booking future accommodation.
Cons: The terrible road to get to the property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and his family are very kind and knowledgeable about the island, so the traveling experience turned out to be so much more memorable than we expected. The B&B is situated at a beautiful location just as described in its name, and the breakfast is always so fresh and tasty. Getting to know the owners tale about how "Edge" came about has also been one of the most interesting parts of our journey on the Big Island. Mahalo for everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great to go north or south and the biggest highlights were kayaking the Kealakekua Bay, snorkeling at Two Step, watching the sunset in Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park, and even going in caves at Kula Kai Caverns to the south. It’s such a magical place and Kurt and Kana will make sure you have a vacation of a lifetime. We have stayed here 4 different times now and it’s always a great experience. Mahalo. See you again soon.

Pros: Large clean and spacious room. Awesome view of coastline
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Vivienne’s apartment (orchid room) was fantastic, we would have loved to stay much longer. :) We we’re welcomed very warm and friendly. The apartment is located on a hill, off the main street in a nice house surrounded by several acres of hawaiian nature providing a breathtaking view to the ocean. The fridge was pre-filled with fresh bananas and papayas from the garden, even milk, oats and fresh muffins were provided by Vivienne. The room had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. We had our own terrace with stunning ocean view, to experience the wonderful sunrise and having breakfast while watching the birds in the morning. If you are on Big Island we would highly recommend this place and we would definitely come back again.
