The first vehicle brought out appeared comfortable but the tires were obviously worn. We were taking this vehicle across the country, thru the desert in 110 + degree weather. There should be better quality control on vehicles and their upkeep. The staff was very prompt and courteous in providing us with a better maintained vehicle.2.0 Poor

You canceled my reservation a day after I booked and never notified me. Furthermore you confirmed the reservation 5 days after I booked. When I showed up to the Avis they had no record. I had to drive 2 hours to the nearest airport to get another rental.Cons:

I wanted a Sedan but was given an SUV crossover which I did not want. Nobody explained to me what to do in case I ended up on a toll road. I tried to pay the toll online but because it was a rental I couldn't do that, so I have to pay an exorbitant price. Dropoff at LAX was disorganized.2.0 Poor

Avis cancelled my rental without give me any notification before my family's vacation because they did not have the vehicle in stock and they did not want to honor that price for a larger vehicle or something similar like a minivan. I feel that was unfair and it caused me a lot of inconvenience and extra money. It may have been that particular Avis but no matter what that is definitely poor service!Cons:

First the rental office had a sign showing closed until 3:00 p.m. along with a hand written sign with new hours stated they were open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Car pick was scheduled for after 12:00 I arrived at 2:00 p.m. Secondly the computer system was down and they had no way of renting me a car. No back up or hand paperwork to do any rentals. Could you imagine going to a hospital and they couldn’t treat you because the computer was down. Poor service poor quality and extra miles on my own car that I did want. I don’t recommend Budget/Avis of Barstow, CA10.0 Wonderful

Even though this location is always really busy, the staff always provides great service and never seems flustered even when problems come up. We had reserved a large SUV but found out when we came to pick up that we needed a credit card not debit card for that sized vehicle. The staff got us into a mini van that needed up working out better for what we needed and had better gas mileage.Cons:

When we questioned, all the other representatives pulled an intimidation tactic, even going as far as referencing my "face". Complete waste of my time. I made the reservation and I literally walked to the rental place and was told I couldn’t rent with a debit card and also that they did not have any cars available for rent. I was stuck for 6 hours waiting for a friend to get into town to pick me up. I was also never reimbursed the insurance on the vehicle that i never even rented. Horrible experience and I will never use hertz or kayak to rent a car ever again10.0 Wonderful
