Avis called me, literally, as my Uber was pulling up to drive me to the rental location to tell me they did not have any cars available for the day. I ended up paying almost double for a last minute rental from another service, was very late getting where I needed to be AND I have a $50 charge on my credit card from Avis and the insurance yet to be refunded. Terrible, defensive agent when they called at the last minute too. Avis will never get my business again and I may need Kayak to assist with getting these charges reversed/refunded.

Pros:

I liked the comfort of the car and it's cornering. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Cons:

I HATE all the assists on the car. It would constantly grab the wheel and forcibly turn it back into the lane if I got too close to the line. I also could not figure out the display panel without reading the manual. Also, the wait time at the Gallatin Pike office was exceedingly long. We had to wait for them to go pick up a car from the lot and it took a long time.

Pros:

The agent explained the basic operations of the vehicle, which was really helpful as I always have to search to figure each new car's set-up.

Cons:

Other than a sign to state that we could not enter the office, there was no indication of where to stand outside so there was confusion on who was next in line to be served. Additionally, it was extremely sunny and hot and there were no coverings or shade to wait in. The agent did not inform me that the rental drop-off location in DC that was on my reservation is currently closed due to COVID-19, so I didn't know that I had to drop-off the vehicle at a completely different location than I had selected.
