Location and accommodation was peaceful.
We booked and paid for a superior room that was confirmed as having a bath as we do not like showers. There was no bath! The soap in the bathroom was second hand and we felt that the hosts were not bothered as to whether we were comfortable or not. Given the lack of attention to details, although the accommodation was in an historic chateau, the overall impression was of poor value and thus less than we had expected resulting in our disappointment.
We've a got few kinds of very fresh bread with home made jams. The home-made yogurt and fruit salad were accompanied with nice coffee and tasty tea. Bad and lining as well as toilet accessories were at very high standard. The room was very clean ans warmed specially for us.
In the morning we've told the owner that hot water was not hot enough. And she apologized and called plumber.
The Château is located in a beautiful area.
All the photos that appear on the booking of the main house are a decoy. Guests do not have access to the main house, all rooms are in a side annex. The rudeness and dislike of the person who is managing this space, the worst experience of my life! Cleaning the bathroom too bad, hair on other people's floors when I entered for the first time. Breakfast time despite being published in the room isn't fulfilled, and is only served when they desire and the schedule changes from day to day. Wifi is free! yes but it doesn't work.
We had a wonderful, friendly welcome from Isabelle. The rooms were beautifully appointed & comfortable although they are in a side wing not actually in the Chateau. The breakfast in the Orangerie was outstanding.
We weren’t informed through Booking.com that you can reserve at the Chateau for dinner. However Clisson, a charming medieval town, situated on pretty river 5 mins away with many restaurants.
Wonderful escape to a bye-gone world. Lovely family, whose advice on vineyards to visit, restaurants, routes - and their own wine, of course - was generously given and of immense value. We have travelled much of the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels: this Chateau would justify a dedicated visit.
Located in Gorges, Château de l'Oiselinière is within a 10-minute drive of Museum of the Nantes vineyard and Clisson Castle. Free self parking is available onsite.
