Overview

Built in 1892, The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa Autograph Collection is a landmark steeped in tradition and history with its location in the heart of downtown Denver. It’s not often that guests will stay at a hotel that has its own water supplied by two Artesian wells fed from an aquifer 750 feet below the hotel. This simply adds to the allure that is included with Florentine arches in the atrium that is then highlighted by a detailed stained-glass skylight.

The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection guest rooms highlight eight different choices of rooms and suites. Each one has a bathroom that shines with Carrera marble countertops, silver fixtures, and rain showerheads. All accommodations also include a 42” HD TV, Keurig coffeemaker, and high-speed complimentary Internet. Six stories of rooms also have intricate wrought iron paneled balconies that open to the inside center of the hotel.

This wonderful boutique hotel offers rare dining experiences that allow guests to enjoy casual fare, afternoon tea, fine dining, American fare, a luscious brunch, and a cigar bar all without having to leave the Brown Palace Hotel.

The Spa at Brown Palace will be a place guests want to escape as it offers a full menu of services including massages, hair salon and nail salon. No stone is left unturned for the guests’ rejuvenation. The onsite fitness center features cardio equipment and free weights for those that would prefer to keep exercising while away from home. This, of course, doesn’t include the steps that will add up as visitors walk to downtown Denver and enjoy all it has to offer while staying at the Brown Palace Hotel.

Alas time stands still - an afternoon tea in this grand but dazzling lobby - well appointed rooms and dining options. The “small” structure is not limiting nor intimidate but just right. The front desk especially Rain and Ana went out of their ways to accommodate requests. A lovely hotel.

Pros (+) The location.
Cons (-) This place needs a serious overhaul. The furniture is ancient and damaged. The shower fixture was falling off the wall. The mattresses are NOT comfortable. I don’t care that it’s a historical hotel - they market it as lux and it’s not. Even after an “upgrade” to a “Top of the Brown” “suite” - I won’t be back. I’d have been livid and f I’d paid for the “suite”.
