The bar areas are spacious and a really convivial feeling developed as people arrived and hung out together. The downstairs area has a lot of heritage atmosphere.
This is not a criticism, but this is an old hotel, clearly attempting to modernize in an old building. I struggled with the stairs to my top storey room, which was perferctly adequate when I got there. It's something to bear in mind when booking.
