The location was perfect, just off a little square. The view from our room was exquisite, until the fog rolled in. The room was comfortable and cozy - I hadn't expected heating but there was. Great bed. Nice bathroom.
Breakfast was . . .well, Italian. Bread and cookies. Good bread but no protein.
Located in the center of the unique historic town of Erice, this hotel offers wonderful views of the valley and sea below. The owner was very friendly and drove us back from the hotel to the parking lot, located at the entrance to the town, when we were leaving.
We stayed in a budget room in this hotel (it also offers more expensive rooms that seem to have been renovated recently, but this review is not about them). Although the room was in fairly good condition and quite clean, there was a bit of a musty smell, and the furnishings were outdated. Moreover (and this has nothing to do with the hotel itself), we came here in January when Erice is a real ghost-town with very few visitors and very few open sights and establishments (in particular, you can have a meal at the hotel by prior reservation only; otherwise, there were two open restaurants in town offering limited menus). It was misty and very windy, it rained most of the time, and even some hail fell out. Nevertheless, Erice makes a big impression even at this time of year, and the sight from the town to the valley below (on the rare occasions when the clouds parted) was spectacular.
The view from our room.
All cotton linens, comfortable room, good shower.
the owner is a beautiful lady that has an incredible knowledge of all the town history and is happy to explain everything to you. She is so courteous that she also took our luggages to the cable..unmissable if you visit Erice!
