Very good location. Although has no private parking, has a direct lift to the Hotel and also special price. Variable breakfast also for a vegan.
centrale ligging, goede parkeer mogelijkheid internet 9 euro per dag
All of the staff made us feel extremely welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The entrance lobby and restaurants are extremely elegant.
Wonderfully traditional 5-star (though in a 50 year old building), and you can feel the sense of pride in its history and role in the community (definitely a "tradition" for a certain age, here). Staff is professional and well-trained, and very friendly, not stuffy. My room was very large, and nicely appointed. The bar is fun -- very old school, with a wonderful, classic bartender, fireplace, cheesy 70's slow tunes (but a very talented pianist, as well). Perfect location...simple enough to reach by car, but right on the edge of the pedestrian city center, with shops right outside the door. No internet access at all in rooms. This was a big surprise. Free wi-fi only in the lobby area. Business center has one computer with printer. No fax or copier, though the front desk staff was happy to help. Mediocre bath/shower combo. I was in the "Residenz" annex, which means entering the front lobby, ascending one floor, walking down a long corridor, and ascending again. Not terribly convenient, and could be made much easier with independent external access. Finally, couldn't cool the room down (AC seems to have been shut off for the winter).
Very good value for money. Excellent breakfast and dinner.
It was very close to the town centre Matresses were strange foam and a bit uncomfortable, overall a bit pricey
Hotel staff very friendly, rooms are nice, breakfast is good
Central place,Room was good.
The location of the hotel, the helpful staff, and the very comfortable rooms. Difficulty getting to the hotel which is in the pedestrian zone. Even with GPS and hotel's instructions as to how to get to the hotel, it was not easy to find. In the older parts of cities with pedestrian zones, the streets can be very confusing. However, that would not prevent me from either recommending the hotel or in staying there again. Just a cautionary note.
the beakfast was excelent not accessible by car and distant from the parking place
Beautiful building, beautiful location, very nice and helpful staff...the hotel is family owned and operated and it shows, lots of character and charm. It was a 2 minute walk to the entrance to beautiful forest walking trails beergarten and all. All guests get a free public transportation card (bus-metro-tram) which is really nice and pretty rare. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly reccomend it to everyone.
Location is fantastic. Short walk to the public car-park and the downtown pedestrian area with shopping and restaurants. Very clean room. The exterior and the lobby looks charming but that doesn't translate into the style of the rooms which just looks dated. Staff could have been more friendly and welcoming but they were by no means offensive.
Friendliness of the staff.
An interesting, traditional hotel in a prime location in the market square immediately next to the Munster in Freiburg The striking of the hours and quarter-hours by the Munster bells does not allow deep sleep
The staff was very helpful. Our unit was large and lovely. Wonderful breakfasts were served to us with hot and cold choices. There was also fresh fruit and water in the room. It was somewhat noisy at night because our room was on the front of the hotel. So if you need quiet, a room at the back may be better.
The location in Freiburg is super! It was barely more than the equivalent of staying in someone's spare room. Not particularly welcoming or comfortable.
