Aditya Resort - Galle - Building
1
9.5 Excellent (202 reviews)
C$ 407+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Aditya Boutique Hotel in Hikkaduwa, you'll be on the beach, within a 10-minute drive of Hikkaduwa Beach and Hikkaduwa Coral Reef. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, the service at reception was good, they were always there to help. After we made a mistake with the booking (a day too early) they offered us an upgrade and a free dinner which they didn't have to! Our standard room was enormous, including a private plunge pool, fish pond and double sinks in the bathroom.
Cons: There's not much to do in Hikkaduwa, but Galle is great and only a short tuk tuk ride away. The sea was really rough when we were there (July) so we were advised not to go swimming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities and staff exceptional. Photos do not do it justice.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully designed, well decorated, huge room with a gorgeous beach facing jacuzzi. Excellent staff, probably the most attentive staff we’d encountered across our stay in Sri Lanka. Lovely private beach. Just an excellent experience overall!
Cons: The mandatory New Years gala dinner, while well conducted, felt overpriced. Ideally, the gala dinner should be optional - not all guests are in the mood to have a 5-course meal for New Years.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room and bathroom was enormous and we had a jacuzzi to ourselves on a floor above us. The main hotel area was very large and airy and had a good view across the garden to the beach. The staff were extremely attentive and charming. The beach was long in both directions and had very few people on it - good for a long walk in the morning or evening.
Cons: Because it was very spacious and modern it was not as intimate as the word 'boutique' implied and the dining area was a large open area facing the garden and beach - there was no separate, more intimate dining area. The sea was rough and there was a strong under-tow - it was not a place to swim in the sea - but one could paddle or 'play' in the water close to the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so attentive and kind. We could not have enjoyed our stay more.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. The only improvement that could be made is ensuring drivers know to offer toilet/coffee stops en route from airport.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: no hot water in the bath
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, perfect for our last night before long flight home!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room, the view was really good... the staff was just amazing.. helped set a table in the garden for dinner in a very short notice.. also, the any time breakfast policy was such a great thing... thank you for that..
Cons: We wanted to try the pillow collection and we called and asked for 2 pillows, but never got it. But we didnt wanna call the 2nd time. So it was ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service. So clean. Nice people. Quick service , nice comfortable setup. Good food. For relaxing I rate it 10-10. Good taste. Nice decoration, rooms are amazing
Cons: -m
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Standard of room and food incredibly high. Staff were excellent and while not in a city/town centre, it’s very easy to get to any of the surrounding towns in a matter of minutes. The hotel is also on the beach, not the greatest one for swimming though.
Cons: Beach, while not the hotels responsibility or fault, was a bit disappointing. There are many others very close by though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Aditya is located in a perfect location ..away from the hassle and noise of hikkaduwa! Perfect get way for body and soul.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was the perfect relaxed atmosphere to finish a two week trip around Sri Lanka. The hotel oozes calm, whilst it is sufficiently close to Galle for any dinner/amenities required. Elke has built a serene jungle escape and we would, without doubt, return for another stay (for more aerial yoga!)
Cons: Some rooms have blinds without curtains, but the staff put up sheets in the evenings to lessen the light exposure at our request. Food was good quality but expect to pay a little more than the Sri Lankan standard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elke and the staff were fantastic and very welcoming. The house is lovely with great facilities, away from the hussle of Galle Fort. We took part in the meditation morning session which was fantastic and a great way to start our day.
Cons: We are just sad we didn’t stay longer and really appreciate the peaceful gorgeous house.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An oasis, beautiful accommodation, wonderful staff including responsive and professional Owners, food was amazing, pool was huge and lovely... what’s not to love?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is small boutique hotel approximately 20 minutes form Galle on a tea estate. The house and gardens are absolutely gorgeous with a stunning pool. There are daily yoga sessions taught by Elke who also owns the hotel. She is very experienced and the sessions are wonderful. All the staff are so helpful and the freshly made food is delicious.A highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyting was perfect and attention to detail quite remarkable. The house sits right in amongst stunning trees with the pool jutting unto the jungle to create such strong connection with nature. Delicious food served on the divine terrace from breakfast to dinner means you just totally relax. Or enjoy Elkes daily meditation and yoga classes in beautiful space overlooking hillside. Massage treatments plus tea plantation tours and other delights also available. There is nothing to fault.
Cons: Probably the best boutique hotel ever. Unique mix of incredible style and 5 star comfort and yet I felt like I was at home and could totally relax. Absolutely fabulous place created by Elke and her exceptional team.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Being in the mountains with uninterrupted views, quiet and peaceful. The beautiful building and attention to detail, the yoga classes, the food was delicious, staff were attentive and very service oriented. Spending New Year’s Eve there was very special. What a treat.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: beautiful room, and also lovely places to sit and relax
Cons: cant think of anything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Niyagama House is nicely off the beaten track at the top of a tea plantation in a very peaceful setting. The room was comfortable and clean with a lovely four poster bed. The bath room was clean and functional too. The food was excellent and was able to be adapted to my wife's requirement for gluten-free. The service was great though everything is freshly cooked so preparation time needs to be allowed for. The pool area is very nice. Although they don't serve wine or beer, they are happy for you to bring your own and will provide appropriate glasses and even serve it for you. The yoga classes and spa treatments were also excellent.
Cons: The room needed some maintenance - only one of three bedside lights was working and the A/C was so noisy that we had to get it looked at by the manager climbing a ladder in our room at 10:30 at night when my wife was already in bed. We would not have slept without!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: environment nice, yoga class nice, service nice.
Cons: bathroom no ventilation, wet after take shower! for activity offered by property, better to clear the price before offer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Elle and Prasad were very helpful before and during our stay. Thanks to Elke for preparing the birthday cake for us. It’s a pity that our stay is too short that we can’t enjoy the yoga class with elke. Hope to come back to this beautiful place.

Pros: Our villa, Hibiscus, was perfect for relaxing days reading by the pool, and has an incredibly comfortable bed. The food was delicious, service outstanding and overall a really fantastic stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place.
Cons: Can’t think of anything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place and staff.
Cons: Everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Waiters could have been a little more attentive - but that’s being pickie
10.0 Excellent
Pros: KK is one of my favourite hotels, my boyfriend and I stayed here before and I couldn't resist visiting again. It is incredibly beautiful, the rooms are clean and cool. From my balcony I could watch the monkeys in the trees. The food is delicious, and the grounds stunning. I had an amazing massage (as a trained masseuse that's high praise) and to visit Galle they booked a tuktuk who waited for a few hours and brought me back again. The staff are welcoming, friendly and eager to help. And I absolutely love the way the hotel is decorated. A wonderful place to relax in peace and quiet. I will return again.
Cons: I love this place, the only part that could be an issue is the location. It can be hard for some to find but if you can show on maps then no problem.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved outdoor bathrooms, size of rooms.
Cons: Bed was a little small and too soft.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Set amongst the trees about 10-15 mins from the coast, this property is really lovely. We had the Peacock room which was huge. The rooms themselves were very comfortable and well maintained and are beautifully designed/decorated. Each morning we would observe the local wildlife which are present outside the windows. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Whilst the communal pool is lovely. I should have probably opted for a room with a private pool as it would have added to the satisfaction of this accommodation.
Cons: The food could improve - although it is better than many other places I ate in whilst in Sri Lanka.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place - real classy, accommodation was exceptional, staff were amazing, food and amenities fantastice. Hard to fault
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, including a coconut on arrival. Great staff. Really beautiful room including outdoor bathroom and shower. Food was excellent. Pool and gym were also great.
Cons: It was a very quiet, peaceful place but almost too quiet. I thought they could have done with a little soft music by the pool and at dinner. The place was absolutely lovely but I'm not sure it was worth the price.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is incredible. Everyone is so sweet and very attentive. While small, the grounds and views are beautiful. The hotel is beautifully decorated and everything was incredibly comfortable.
Cons: The water in the shower was not hot. I also wish the spa was a little more relaxing. It's small, shades closed so you can't really enjoy the scenery, and the lights were on. Would be great to see a little more investment in this space.

Pros: The location is great inside the fort easily walkable to sights, restaurants and cafes. The hotel is beautiful and staff are all so friendly. We had breakfast both mornings and an evening meal and it was one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. Could not recommend more!!!
Cons: The only thing missing is a pool but with so much to see and do in galle not essential
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing experience! Great value for the service you get which is very special
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was stunning, staff were very helpful and the food was delish. The location was walking distance to everything you needed.
Cons: Our room was cosy - smaller than any other place we stayed but still spacious. Wished the hotel had a pool as it was incredibly hot in Galle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Being the only guest during my 1 night stay, I felt like this place was a real house with living area, patio and bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent inside the Fort. Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Thank you to Chamath who went out of his way to make our stay unforgettable - For instance we wanted to rent a scooter and 30mins later there is one in front of the hotel waiting for us. We felt really taken care of. Also many thanks to Wasantha and Shanika. Decor was gorgeous - the owner can come decorate my home anytime. The food was amazing thanks to Nalin who is a wonderful chef, who also made us "special request" dishes. We tried a few "famous" eateries outside that could not begin to compare with the excellent food at Taru Villas. Don't eat anywhere else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, beautiful building, and impeccably clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Villa is conveniently located, and the staff were very attentive. We had taken up 2 rooms, and the property was all to ourselves on the days we were there. It felt very private and intimate, and the staff made us feel very welcome. It was nice to call it home for a few days !!

Cons: Everything was perfect.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really beautiful and the staff is great. A very quiet and beautiful place in Galle
Cons: Do not take the soaps from the bathroom!! My little daughter took them, a employee checked before we went and he said from the window to the manager when we were leaving. We had to take them out of the suitcase even if it was already inside the car. They told us that the boats were ceramic. It is diferent from other hotel that you can take them. The situation made us feel a little bad and uncomfortable.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: food in the restaurant was very good relaxing place with great and helpful staff yummy breakfast sandy beach close by is good for snorkeling and bathing
Cons: some mold in the shower
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rockside cabanas is nice and quiet place, right next to beautiful beach dalawella. Personal is very nice and helpful. Food is tasty and for reasonable price. Beer is bit expensive (600lrk), but they have happy hours 2 times per day :) We stayed in one of four cabanas and our accomodation was clean and spacefull, with big bathroom. We would definitely come again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: situated by the beach; extra helpful staff; possibility to rear scooter; happy hours for drinks
Cons: the cabana is a bit old, needs some renovation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing and specially, service from Anthony was great. He is a really a great asset to the company. So please look after him since he is all about to make a difference. Keep up the good work.
Cons: There is nothing to highlight.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Massive room, comfy bed, hot shower, excellent aircon (when there wasn’t a power cut), huge bed (over 7ft long!), beautiful views, the sound of the sea, numerous options to sit/lie & chill (balcony, sun beds, beachfront seats), staff service was perfect (thank you Anthony in particular), watching the turtles in the sea was a unique experience, food was good (try the chilli & garlic calamari...hot!), happy hours with 2-4-1 drinks (1-2pm and 6-7pm)...and the beach itself was very relaxed and never too busy. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.
Cons: We stayed in room A-2 rather than one of the Cabanas so can only comment from that perspective but the road noise and occasional very loud train did make sleeping beyond 6am a bit of a problem. Although we were never in bed late as everything close by (and the hotel) shuts at 10pm so we did always get a good sleep overall. The other strange concept was having to order your dinner by 5/5.30pm if you wanted it. When I’m paying as much as this for a hotel I do expect to choose when/if I eat and make a late decision if that takes my fancy. The restaurant is advertised to the outside world so what do they do if someone walks in off the street at 8pm and asks for a table?! Although another minor complaint in what was generally a positive experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place! The staff was absolutely lovely, caring and helpful, in special Antony. The cabana was very nice and clean. Breakfast was amazing and dinner also delicious! Thank you these wonderful days. We would recommend the Rockside Cabanas Hotel 100%
Cons: Everything perfect!!!
6.3 Good
Pros: Being so close to the beach was great. Anthony was really lovely and so helpful! He was so friendly and nothing was too much to ask from him. He organised taxis for us, recommended places for us to visit, arranged for us to have our breakfast on the cabana and was generally a very lovely friendly person, he really made our stay there. Mini bar prices were cheap, and aircon worked very well. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of food. also the Tuk Tuk driver opposite the hotel was great he gave us his number and was always there whenever we needed him he recommended places to us and was very friendly! I would recommend using him
Cons: The cabana bathroom roof was cracked meaning when it rained the floor was slippery and wet. There was only a very thin small sheet for a bed cover which was not very comfortable. The whole place just looked a little tatty and old, it could be a really really lovely hotel if a bit of money was spent on it, it could do with a refurbishment. One night we had two rats run down the inside roof of our cabana, we asked to be moved rooms by which the hotel owner told me it couldn’t possibly have been a rat and she won’t move our room. To which I told her I won’t be giving her a good review and she was completely unwilling to help in anyway. So the next morning she found us another room in the main hotel, another cabana also had a rat in it and she set traps to catch them and release them elsewhere. The cabanans are extremely dark and could Do with a nice big window or sliding door.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location. The beach outside has a lovely reef with a lot of fish to discover. We also saw sea turtles in the surf while on the beach. The swings outside allow for great photos over the water with the sunset in the background. The staff were wonderful, in particular, Anthony, who went the extra mile to make our stay a happy one.
Cons: The balconies were not private. Early in the morning, we would see a staff member on our balcony, cleaning. As we had our curtains open for the view, we felt exposed. Kids had to share a balcony with strangers from the next room and felt uncomfortable. They also felt awkward knowing someone could see into their room at any time so they kept their curtains closed and didn't use their balcony which defeated the purpose of having a seaview room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property right on the beach, very helpful and professional staff. And the owner went out of her way to please us. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment.
Cons: The bathroom had not much ventilation.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: With an array of places to sit and, relax and take in the beautiful surrounds, the intimacy of this hotel was perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. 7.1 Good
Pros: Basic guesthouse near the beach that we were not able to visit because of the high waves. There is one shop just next to the guesthouse where the holder also cooks dinner. The guesthouse owner organized airport pick-up and transfer to our next destination in air conditioned comfortable van by a very kind taxi driver. Breakfast was very simple continental type.
Cons: Recommended only for short stays, we stayed there one night. Located on the main road which is very busy so walking to nearby places is highly discouraged.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Had a perfect one night stay at Anara. Just a pitstop before a wedding nearby. Kasun was very hospitable and accomodating. Especially as I mucked up my dates! The room had all I needed. Just a bit closer to the main road than I imagined but all was great.
Cons: Not many dinner options open nearby with the off season, so I just went next door to the super local family kitchen. Great meal for 400rs. Free smiles and laughs ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you're looking for a beautiful, clean, yet authentic stay close to Galle/Unawatuna/the prettiest beaches a little bit away from the mainstreamed touristy places, this is all dreams come true. It was honestly the best stay I have had in Sri Lanka, just because it feels like home. The room is beautifully decorated, everything is clean and Kasun does not leave you with any wishes unfulfilled. Enjoying the sounds of the waves in the hammock or directly on the beach, which is perfect to swim and chill at in the shade of the palm trees, or breakfast on the private porch, you can have it all!
Cons: Seriously can't think of anything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kasun is awesome! He is so passionate about his flourishing business. We loved the tour of the property and beach on arrival. He is very friendly, up for a chat and to give advice on the area. The beach is the best we have seen in all of Sri Lanka! We loved it. The rooftop is also cool especially during the monsoon rain. You can have a lay in the hammock and drift off to sleep. The bed sheets were beautiful - loved the colours - and also very comfortable. Lastly, we had the best massage ever from the beautiful Balinese masseuse! Highly recommended!!
Cons: Just the wifi connection wasn’t very strong- however it turned into a positive because we spent more time talking to each other and enjoying the nature! We even saw monkeys in the early morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall expirence is great...very friendly environment....hope to visit this place again ❤️
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpfull staff. Good looking room, big bathroom, nice bed, close to the beach! Very cheap price for this accomodation!
Cons: Wifi is not always working.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean and big room, really comfortable in here...nice staff
Cons: Wifi connection,please fix it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, but special mention to the owner:) very helpful, always keen to help, breakfast was delicious, we had a chef cooking three meal course for a very reasonable price. The beach is a two minute walk and it’s beautiful best beach in the area by far. I absolutely loved my time at anara villa and would definitely come back:)
Cons: I loved everything just a little suggestion, a swimming pool will be a great;)
7.9 Good
Pros: Everything is simple in a good way. The ocean view is great and relaxing.
Cons: Distance from the city

Pros: The room, the view, the kindness of the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location ,near the ocean, ocean view rooms are amazing and spacious.
Cons: Kind of expensive,
6.7 Good
Pros: Bath tub with hot water
Cons: Reception staff is sometimes careless! Not worst but not good ! They laugh to us when after we leave the reception without reason! Really embarrassing to us!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: One of the best beach properties I've ever stayed at. A wonderful experience. The breakfast spread was amazing!
Cons: The layout of the washrooms may not be for everyone. Great amenities but it's completely see through so not everyone will be comfortable with that. Also, they restaurants could have more vegetarian options. Especially for dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were staying at a garden room and it was great for the kids to run on the grass as we were having our coffee.
Cons: Only the overhead shower (rain shower) was working and it was not always convenient.
6.7 Good
Pros: Room is like a full apartment, very spacious. Two sinks in the bathroom is very convenient. Bathroom also has a bath. Facilities are good. Big outdoor pool. We asked for a late check-out; we could stay till 14:00 and make use of the Spa Facilities to dress-up.
Cons: Food and drinks very expensive. Food not good at all. Staff not very friendly and not smiling. Airport Taxi overpriced. Quite far from Galle.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location and excellent layout.
Cons: Had bed bugs one night....flew in to the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was amazing. It was better than the pictures. The rooms are super spacious and well equipped and the staff cant do enough for you. The breakfast was small, but had everything you could possible want or need, and the poolside menu and evening meal choices were great. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are looking for something relaxing picturesque.
Cons: The pool was super lovely but it could do with some re-tiling in some areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: That was a long time I did not have breakfast in the room. That was a great service and beautiful view for a breakfast. This resort is small enough to feel like a boutique hotel but big enough to offer all the facilities. Yes it is pricy for Sri Lanka but this is real international level and service. The ocean view room are just gorgeous and very large. Bathroom is spacious and with two separated space for each of us.
Cons: no table in the room for the breakfast

Pros: EVERYTHING!!! GAVIN is awesome!!!
Cons: The cab recommended to go to the airport.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property located in the midst of Galle Fort Dutch neighborhood. The food is outstanding!
Cons: The room size is slightly small, as long as you're not traveling with huge bags you're fine. Stunning villa!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant at the hotel was phenomenal - great food and service. The room design and decor was delightful. Wonderful staff who were so helpful and kind. One of our favorite hotels in Sri Lanka!
Cons: The sheets had some stains on them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Bungalow at Galle Fort was one of the best properties we stayed in in Sri Lanka. The rooms were chic, clean and comfortable. The dining was superb and the staff incredibly attentive. A special mention for Gavin, the manager, who paid particular attention to those fine details that make all the difference.
Cons: Nothing to mention
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gavin and all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, amazing start to our honeymoon. Food at the restaurant is also amazing, definitely recommend
7.5 Good
Pros: I stayed at The Bungalow from August 10th - 13th. I had a delightful stay at the vintage boutique hotel. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities. The restaurant manager Gavin and the staff was very attentive to my needs. The food at the hotel is par excellence. The breakfast was included in my room rate. They make really good waffles. The breakfast menu was a la carte but it could certainly do with a few changes / modifications. I had to order juice separately as it wasn't included in the breakfast. Whereas a lot of hotels serve juices in their breakfast. I'd suggest that juices, tea/coffee, cereal and fruit should be laid out on a table for the hotel guests and only the breakfast be selected and ordered from the menu. At US$110 + taxes per night, you'd expect to have more value for money.
Cons: I met the hotel manager Shamith on the 3rd day, while I was checking out, as he had been on leave earlier. When inquired by him about my stay, I mentioned that I was disappointed as there was no TV in the rooms. Life in the Galle Fort gets boring past 10pm since everything is shut, so you need some entertainment to keep busy. He said that they have an entertainment room/TV room upstairs with DVDs and board games to which I was astonished as I had not been told about it earlier. The guests should always be told about the facilities when they check in. Secondly, the restaurant and bar close by 10pm. All the staff leave the premises by 10pm. There is nobody from the management in the hotel at night for assistance, if anyone needs to order some food or beverage etc. It would be nice to have some staff at the hotel at all times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best ever. Just stay and enjoy there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s location in the fort is perfect for exploring the shops and narrow streets on foot. It’s also easy to take a tuk tuk for visiting nearby beaches, temples and markets. The property has been beautifully restored and aircon in each room is greatly appreciated after walking around in the heat all day. The main drawcard is the restaurant for lunch & dinner - the food is absolutely delicious and the waiting staff are lovely. We loved eating on the outside entrance terrace - it has a lovely ambience. Almost too lovely - I was so relaxed I left my bag out there but the staff found it and returned to me a good 30 mins later before I’d even realised!!!
Cons: Breakfast was included in the rate but we were presented with a menu for choosing from with prices on it. This was a bit off putting (were we only allowed 1 item??) and fruit platter & fresh juices weren’t even an option. I love Sri Lankan set breakfasts where you get a little bit of everything - fruit, juice, pastry/toast, hoppers, dhal, omelette, etc. Much easier and enjoyable way to start the day. We also had to ask questions quite often. Most places tell you the wifi password straight away, and offer advice on where to go, how to get there, etc unprompted. Makes a tourist feel more welcome that way and less demanding, especially as there’s no dedicated reception area. And a small but quite important observation - our room needed hooks cause there was nowhere to hang my clothes. Plenty of drawers but I only use them if staying for 3 or more nights, and they’re no good for dresses. I did have a wonderful time though! Would definitely stay again - they’d just get 10/10 from me if the above minor criticisms were fixed
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful old Dutch renovated bungalow with a fabulous location right inside the fort. Very lovely courtyard and breakfast patio looking out on to the Galle streets. Breakfast was our first try of Sri Lankan Hoppers and were truly delicious. Gavin and his team were delightful and took very good care of us! Also special mention to the very lovely bathrooms with huge walk in showers (felt very luxurious)
Cons: Queen size room was very small and dark - would recommend opting for a larger size/ one on the top floor so the light comes in. If also on bottom floor patio can be loud in the evening & in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing place with a lot of character. The best place during our 5 week trip. Gavin, the manager and his staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for the old Fort area. 5 minutes walk from interesting historical highlights such as the Marine Archeological museum, the old Dutch hospital and the Courts area. A ton of good restaurants and souvenir shops within easy walking distance. Good breakfasts and lovely warm hosts who could not have done more for us at the Seagreen guesthouse. Rooftop and first floor terraces are excellent places for drinking a beer and watching the world go by. We had a wonderfully relaxing and welcoming stay for 4 nights. Would happily have stayed a bit longer.
Cons: This is nitpicking, the rooms were clean but very basic, could do with a bit of updating and some more comfortable bedding.. On the plus side, there's effective air-conditioning and a fan to keep you cool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Reception was friendly and informative, giving us the local highlights. Very helpful when we had to leave and go to the bus station. They arranged for a tuk-tuk and made sure we got there without any delay.
Cons: N/A

Pros: Great location, clean facilites and bathroom, comfy terrace, nice views, they had an adapter for the electrical appliances which was great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Naman picked us up from the airport and he&his team gave us a really warm welcome in Sri Lanka. We were able to communicate in English and even German. The hotel is super central in Galle Fort, room was simple but clean and comfy. Breakfast was really delicious. They organised tuktuks for us and took care of us very well. In addition, the view from the balcony was amazing. We recommend this guest house wholeheartly!
Cons: No mosquito nets but there were no mosquitos at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - outstanding location, amazing value, wonderful staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best accomodation in 2 weeks of SL. Kind staff, perfect position, nice terrace view, clean room and bathroom, excellent quality/price. Great experience
Cons: Expensive breakfast, but it's the standard price in Galle.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, we couldn't find a better one in the fort! The balcony is also great. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Tip: try the fresh juices at the local market stand across the homestay a little to the right near the sea! They are only 60lkr and so nice :)
Cons: The breakfast is great, just a little expensive if you're on a budget.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, modern building, great pool, friendly staff and a secluded spot. Deen and Kepi were incredible hosts and made us feel very welcome. The towel arrangements we can back to each night were very sweet touches. We were very sad to be leaving this special spot behind. Couldn’t recommend it more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Zen-like atmosphere, totally relaxing place. Service was warm and friendly. The property was spotlessly clean. The lack of ACs was quite refreshing, we didn't miss it.
Cons: Food options were a bit limited, although perhaps understandable as there are only three rooms to cater for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are AMAZING and extremely attentive. We had fantastic food on site for two nights, where a private chef cooked us a delicious four-course dinner the first evening and a traditional Sri Lankan spread the second evening. The location is beautiful - very tranquil and quiet. The rooms are large, very modern and clean. We would definitely stay again!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The chef was very nice, the food is delicious especially the breakfast.
Cons: Overall we didn’t enjoy our stay as much as we expected considering the price. The location was probably the biggest negative for us, just too far to walk to the city. The welcome at the beginning wasn’t the best.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I cannot stress enough how great the food was. We had the four-course dinner which was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. It was freshly cooked right in front of us and was the perfect amount. The breakfast had more options than we could finish and it was absolutely amazing. We loved the board games at the lobby and it was the perfect way to spend our evening. The bed was comfortable and I loved the unique design of the property. We also loved the service from the staff.
Cons: The TV in our room wasn’t working which was quite disappointing. It was also a bit loud during day time because there were construction work around the property. It would be nice if they could do something to sound proof the rooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning villa - everything about this place was amazing. The pool, the rooms the hidden spot to sit and relax with a book. The staff were incredible helpful and due to the hotel only having 3 rooms we really felt we go to know them and them us. They were incredible helpful in booking use TukTuks into town. The pool is just simple beautiful and built into the rock - this really is a eco-hotel.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like - but reflecting on my Sri Lankan trip I would say that the evening meal was a little overpriced and if I was to repeat I probably would have spent some evening eating out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place and friendly staff!
Cons: The view, the pool, the food!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Simply amazing, it was one of the best experience in Sri Lanka. I already recommended the hotel to all my friends. I will definitely go back in this place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous interior and architecture, lovely, helpful staff, beautiful food. Couldn’t fault anything!!
Cons: The property is a little out of Galle and a little hard to find but once you’re there it’s truely amazing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lots of space with different places to sit, very helpful staff, stunning building, short tuktuk ride to local towns, jungle setting with monkeys and peacocks.
Cons: Very noisy at night, barking dogs and traffic, have to wear ear plugs to sleep.

Pros: Wauw, we had the best villa #3!! Such a nice employers, beautiful swimmingpool, lovely food and a very nice escape from big city Galle but super close! The gardener picked fresh spices out of the garden! No plastic waste.
Cons: I loved everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great one night in a jetwing kurulubedda. I can’t say anything just I can say wow!!! ☺️☺️
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Most staff seemed pleasant such a shame they are let down by the company or management
Cons: No reply to emails, picked up phones then put down, all maps take you 5km wrong direction, can not check in or pay there have to pay for transport to another hotel just to pay check in and out. Ants everywhere in bed and in towels. Room mouldy and damp. Loud party through the night nearby. Swimming pool not able to use due to maintenance none of the longstanding ongoing problems communicated before arrival, so easy to send email or phone to say pool not in use or offer some directions.
7.5 Good
Pros: Peace and quiet. Definitely for people into nature. Ideally suited for a couple. I will recommend this place.
Cons: The private pool needed cleaning. Informed staff and they agreed to clean it promptly.

Pros: If you’re looking to live quietly, to watch the rhythms of plant and animal life (monitor lizards, peacocks, monkeys, birds) and do it from beautifully planned spaces and with attentive service, then kurulubedda is for you. Prabhat, the manager, and his team set the bar high on good service. The location is also close to Jetwings Lighthouse which you can access if you feel like going to a different restaurant or pool.

Cons: It was low season so i was alone in the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best Sri lankan breakfast we had in 3 weeks!!! Nice interior design! Hosts were really friendly! They also made it possible to check out late so that we could wait for our train later the day!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was absolutely perfect, bang in the middle of the fort but tucked away in a quiet back alley so it wasn’t noisy at all. They have a pretty decent breakfast as well. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.
Cons: The room was a bit dark, did not have enough lighting. Also the shower wasn’t the best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were airy and spotlessly clean. The towels were thick and luxurious - ( not seen previously in SL). The Sri Lankan breakfast was extremely generous and scrumptious. The staff were so helpful and even brought up breakfast for my mother who was struggling with the stairs. Cannot recommend this place more highly. Thank you Antic Guest House - we loved our two night stay in Galle Fort
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The way the place is decorated and styled is just the most pinterest-able. Beautiful. The breakfast! First you get a massive platter of absolutely everything that functions as breakfast food in Sri Lanka and even though you'd promised yourself a light breakfast you eat everything, it's just so tasty. Fine, you think, you just won't eat for the rest of the day. But you will, and immediately, because as soon as you clean the first plate they bring another, this time with this nicely arranged, colourful and juicy fruit selection. Why wouldn't you have dessert after breakfast? Check out till noon and breakfast till 11. It's your holiday and you can sleep in if you want to. The staff were lovely, nice to chat with and v.helpful. It was fun to watch them work on jewellery and gem stones and learn about the uniqueness of Sri Lankan sapphires. Free bottled water. Very good location.
Cons: The idea that just because two people share a room they are also fine with no bathroom door is way too far-fetched. You really should install bathroom door. I feel very strongly about that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated, amazing Sri Lankan breakfast - what a spread!!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ambience lovely. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast was amazing. Clean rooms and any small issues dealt with very promptly. And the jewellery in the shop is fantastic!
Cons: No door on the bathroom might not work for everyone (this is not in all rooms ) Would have been good to have a bedside light right by the bed
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Personal hotel in the heart of Galle. Helpful staff. Best coffee in Sri Lanka! Large room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A nice place, rightly decorated and located in a quiet street right in the middle of Galle' Dutch Fort. Add to that a friendly and helpful staff (they organized any visit and other taxi that came to my mind during my stay with them) then why would you like to go elsewhere?
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the lovely breakfast every morning, one of the best on our stay in Sri Lanka. The owners were very helpful organising onward transport. The room was clean and had artistic flourish
Cons: We were in the back room upstairs which was s little dark. Some hand towels would be nice in the bathroom. Overall the standard quite high here
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about it, very nice tasteful rooms, cleanliness and the best breakfast ever....very helpful and nice staff!

Cons: Just the location is a bit too far from the main Galle city and attractions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's an amazing place. Takes you back to when you were a kid. The staff is so hospitable and accommodating.
Cons: My stay was too short
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very helpful The food is excellent - a menu of local, Asian and continental food. We ate at the hotel all 3 nights - it was that good! Rooms have an old world feel - high ceiling, lots of space, lots of wood. The hotel premises itself is beautiful. Being able to walk onto the verandah and courtyard is amazing. The bathrooms are huge! Our room its own small courtyard with a bench and frangipani tree. Nice touch.
Cons: We were told upon arrival that the spa is closed for renovation. It would have been nice to be informed of that in advance. The hotel is a 10 minutes drive from Galle Fort, and off the main road. You'll need a car to get around (which we did).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay. The staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming (our 5 year old said he missed them)! The pool is the stuff of dreams. Our room was lovely with air con and a huge bathroom (perfect for families). The breakfast was awesome (hoppers for everyone!) And Galle just an exciting tuk tuk ride away. Can't fault our stay. Cons: Maybe they could put a Nespresso Machine in the room, next to the Tea Pot..... for when you need a caffeine fix. And Watch Out for mosquitoes!!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted warmly with a welcome drink and a smile. The bathroom, bed and cute veranda were lovely and all very clean and the staff were great.
Cons: Our room was downstairs next to the kitchen/reception area and it was noisy in the morning. Also, due to the rain (although not the property's fault completely) there was a loud and constant dripping through out the night. Not the best value for money in Sri Lanka.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel with a beautiful garden in the middle of the fort. Our room was perfectly clean and had a big bathroom. The staff helped us a lot (even with a super-express laundy). Thank you Pradeep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Great little hidden boutique hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful small hotel, located in a small street in the heart of Galle. This is old Dutch mansion that has been lovingly restored. We were upgraded to an upstairs room with a lovely little balcony. The rooms are small but comfortable, there are large common areas - we really appreciated the common tea counter. Breakfast is large and very good - especially the Sri Lankan and English breakfast.
Cons: Because of an electrical fault, there was no hot water on both days we were there, and no water on one day. But the manager was extremely apologetic and let us use a downstairs bathroom for our showers.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was perfect
Cons: Price/quality
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden, with a family of 4 we got an upgrade with a private terrace. Very complete breakfast. Welcome drink. In the old fort of Galle, so al sightseeing very close.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Located inside the Galle Fort, this smallish boutique hotel is like an oasis in the desert. The staff gave us a great welcome and really looked after us. The room was smallish but had everything we needed. Bathroom was adequate. Comfortable four poster bed with over net if required. Good WiFi. The breakfast was light but very enjoyable and the lounging area out the front is wonderful and cool.
Cons: would have liked a pool but it was explained that under the Galle City rules, all buildings must be sympathic to their past, and thus a pool is not allowed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tucked away in one of the side streets within Galle Fort, Mango House is a little oasis of peace and quiet. Perhaps not as many frills as some of the other hotels nearby, but has so much charm and personality. A simple but lovely breakfast was served on the terrace, overlooking mango trees, and the pretty bougainvillea and frangipani. I loved the books available to borrow to read, and my room, complete with four poster bed, was restful and comfortable. And a very special mention for the very lovely man, whose name I have forgotten, who welcomes the guests, and serves breakfast, who was so friendly and helpful.
Cons: I'm not sure I would change anything or ask anything more of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, service was sincere and friendly and extremely helpful, the location itself is absolutely beautiful, right in the middle of the Fort. Highly recommended
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great in the centre of Galle Fort District. Lots of intersesting Colonial buildings in the area and a wide choice of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.
Cons: Coffee could have been a bit stronger.

Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were very polite and helpful. For our first night in Sri Lanka we couldn’t have made to feel more welcome.
Cons: The electric switches off in the night but I noticed when everything turned on again at 5 am.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This boutique hotel is set in an old Dutch house which has been lovingly and beautifully restored by it’s owner. We spent one night here and we happened to be the only guests, we literally had the whole place to ourselves (usually it’s always fully booked). We had travelled for 14 days in Sri Lanka and stayed in quite a few boutique hotels and this was by far the best place we stayed in. The service, the rooms (the butler showed us all of them) and the food was faultless. The owner has really thought about all the small details; natural insect repellent are part of the toiletries available in the rooms, a turn down service where they light essential oils wading off any bugs but also leaving a lovely aroma and as phones aren’t in keeping with the decor, there are cute butler bells placed in the common areas. I would happily come back here and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to spend a few nights in Galle.
Cons: Everything was great. The only small complaint is that they charge you ($10) if you use the flip flops which they place in the room. With the price point of this hotel they should be free.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was perfect the location and hotel was beautiful and the staff were exceptionally brilliant
Cons: Pool had not so safe level difference step on which one can knock ones chin area of your leg

Cons: The lighting in the bedroom is very poor - but that is the only criticism we have. Also there is no minibar in the room but the staff more than make up for that. They are so incredibly attentive all the time.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nice deco
Cons: We literarelly stayed awake the whole night because of the mosquitos. We have killed more than 30 of them in the tent and don’t know how many inside of room. It was crazy. The staff light up some medical and left seemed didn’t care. Hotel staff were not greeting us in the morning and not smiling at all. Even when we checking out, one of the staff use the finger to point the bill to me without saying anything, it was really rude. We left the hotel without any services and seeing off, not a word of goodbye.

Pros: Location was perfect to see Galle. It is a beautifully decorated restored building. It was like a home away from home.Very good and professional staff. We loved the sea view room we had. One night, we had dinner in the hotel, which was very good.Breakfast was excellent. There is also a small pool in the garden. They recommended us an excellent Tourguide to show us around Galle. We certainly recommend this villa. We also stayed in the Taru Rock Villa in Bentota. This was also a fantastic Villa.Really nice location and service. I think, that the Taru concept will be appreciated by a lot of people.
Cons: Nothing
