Loved the look and feel of the place! And location is just great.
Kent, the owner is fantastic. He provided several great recommendations (tailor, barbershop, etc.). He maintains the space very well including all of the great nooks and crannies. He even DJ's the soundtrack that can be heard throughout the space. There are a lot of bars and restaurants on the street and and on Love Lane around the corner.
I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the room. It's the epitome of faded glory. After a day though, I settled in to it. Toilets and showers are shared and outside--not a problem for me but you should be aware.
The bed was comfy. The AC was great in the twin bed single. The outdoor shower was fantastic! Kent was kind!
Very carefully and beautifully decorated homestay-like house. We loved the owner Kent (who was just born for this job!), our little double-storey house (the photos on booking.com don't necessarily show the real deal, we had a double superior room and those consist of little two-storey bungalows in a backgarden) and the little café. We also loved the possibility to buy postcards inside, decorate them with lots of stamps which were free to use and then to send them away immediately (because there's a mailbox directly in front of the housedoor, a service that you don't see too often in Malaysia. ;) ). Kent, if you're reading this: I hope that you will be having continuing success with your homestay so that you will burn some money for the ghosts at the ghost festival too next year. ;)
Unfortunately, we had the ONE room where Kent didn't manage to exchange the old mattress for a new one (every other room has new ones, don't worry) and I rather had an uncomfortable sleep at night. I appreciate Kent's honesty though, as I mentioned the old mattress he wasn't looking for excuses, but admitted that it's an old one and explained why it hasn't yet been exchanged for a new one. Being treated with honesty is actually rather a plus point. :)
