10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Perfect location within walking distance from the center of Gyeongju (10 mins), a small train station (1 minute) and a bus stop with all the main busses that story (1 minute). - Very clean hostel with all the comforts: every bed has a curtain for more privacy, plug, light, little folding table; in the toilets there are some amenities and the showers are spacious! - Nice breakfast with coffee/tea, orange juice, toasted bread and... cereals! (I didn't have any in the other hostels I stayed in Korea). - SHARON, the girl who works there, is very passionate about her job and the city! She passionately and accurately gives you any travel info (directions, busses/trains, sights) and ensures you understand them! She is really full of resources! ^^ - I spent in the Blueboat Hostel Gyeongju 5 nights, and I was sad to leave!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! It's close to Gyeongju station and the Bus terminal, it's clean and there is even a little breakfast buffet :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is very well located, close to the historical area. The room, the restroom and the common space are clean, modern and well-equipped. The hostel was quiet after 10PM and the mattress rather good, I slept very well compared with the backpackers' hostels I went just before. The breakfast was really good and well-stocked. And special thanks to the owner, for her kindness and availability. Thank you for your advices Sharon!
Cons: Breakfast maybe a little late (start at 8PM)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The manager was vers nice and helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sharon our host was fantastic! She has loads of knowledge of the local area and would suggest where to go each day we were here. She genuinely cared for her guests and was very interested in all our stories and background. She organised a fantastic dinner out and then we did a night tour of the bridge at night and then went for some beers after! The guesthouse was very inviting and great to meet other like-minded travellers.
Cons: Nothing - the place was great, beds were comfortable! Showers could be better in terms of water pressure and kept on fluctuating between hot and cold but not a big problem!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good!

Pros: perfect little mini hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and spacious commons/breakfast area. Single private room was just right for solo traveler; no frills but had everything needed. Would happily stay again. Breakfast is DIY toast, eggs, cereal, juice.
Cons: Very convenient to express bus station (great for late arrivals, early morning departures), but a bit more of a walk to the old part of town with the hanoks and cute restaurants (10 min) Some establishments in the neighborhood seem a bit racy, but there were always people/familes about so I felt very safe.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location. Clean Nice hotel. Nice staff. Wifi per room. Bicycle rent around the corner. Close to bus station and train station.
Cons: I suspect this hotel also serves as a love hotel looking at the plastic layer in te bed. Was slightly uncomfortable since it did not breathe. Apart from that and the tissues besides the bed it looked like a perfectly normal hotel room. Everything was super clean too, but you have to be ok with this. Breakfast was super basic but also cheap.

Cons: Actually aside from the the road it was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was the best place I have ever stayed at in Korea for a holiday break. I really was quiet, warm, comfortable and so relaxing. The hosts were excellent. We were able to barbeque by ourselves after they prepared all the food for us. It is remotely situated, about 20 minutes drive from Gyeongju, into the mountains (and in a national park), so it is the perfect get away from the busy city. It is an excellent place for families as well, as there are facilities to be able to cook for yourself. Our children could play outside, with lots of furry animals to keep them entertained! Another excellent quality was how clean it was upon our arrival. I was really surprised, the linen and bedding was freshly washed and smelled so good. The café is also one of the best deals of this pension, we were able to eat a delicious breakfast with a lit fire in the wooden cabin. Truly a five star experience!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner Mr Huang and his wife. He collected us from the bus station and also took us on a walking trip up a nearby mountain which was spectacular. Although a lovely location for walking it is a long way from the sites in Gyeongjui with no public transport.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The house is located far from everything in the middle of the nature and it’s cool but is better go there with car. I suggest you to bring food to cook so you can be more free to choiche

Cons: Definitely visit night market! Try espresso in Moly cafe. Go to the historical area - wander there.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location fantastic - near the bus/coach station so easy transport around the city. Also got a free lift to the KTX train station when we left - unexpected and very much appreciated - a big thank you to the owners! This service seems to be laid on if you spend more than 3 nights ta the hotel.
Cons: Breakfast is basic but good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: By far, the best Hotel we had in Korea (and we had few). The first contact was not so great as the front desk guy just said that our room is not ready and we can leave the bags - then wandered off. But the evening guy was OK and afterwards we had no troubles checking-in/out. Spacious room with a big TV and a queen size bed. Toilette so you can do some make-up. Toilet separated from the bathtub - which was with a hydro massage option. Fridge with a free face mask and some small drinks. View from the window was not all that great but we didn't cared about it. Breakfast was a typical one (like in all Korea) but in addition we had a salad and some yoghurt - which was a nice surprise. Location is near bus terminal, but you don't hear any noise from it. All in all, we were sad that we only stayed there for one night. Recommended.
Cons: nothing
Apple House Mini Hotel - Gyeongju - Bedroom

8.7 Excellent (526 reviews)
C$ 53+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Apple House Mini Hotel in Gyeongju, you'll be in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Bomun Lake and Blue One Water Park. Featured amenities include luggage storage, coffee/tea in a common area, and microwave in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We got an upgrade for free! :) There was a computer for guest use in the lobby, the room was big and had many amenities (hair dryer, lotions, shampoo, conditioner, fridge...), everything was clean
Cons: The bathroom was a little dated and there’s no bell in the lobby area to ring for the owner, so we had to wait a little. The most annoying thing however was the harsh lighting in the room, which is kind of like neon tubes: very bright and cold. So having the lights on was not very cozy - maybe the lightbulbs could be changed to a warmer, yellow light
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The guy who checked us in was very welcoming and told us all the local sights of interest and the best ways to get there etc. Really great location so close to so many sights and the bus to get to things further out of town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed only one night. But i wish I could stay longer. The host was really nice to me. Helped to reserve train ticket, and call the service center to make sure sure some imfo. And i left my luggage there for a long time. Good location. Comfort faciy. Highy recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is so helpful and friendly. It just makes my stay more memorable. Location is great too! Just minutes away from the express & intercity terminal bus. There’s a good korean BBQ restaurant right across the hotel too. Overall my stay experience was pleasant
Cons: Perhaps one small downgrade was the check in time. It’s too late, check in time was 4 pm. Perhaps if the owner would reconsider to revise the check in time earlier, it would be lovely.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: it's a quiet central place, great for budget solo travellers the owner speaks English and is friendly and helpful
Cons: it's not that I don't like, but just to note: be prepared to bring/make your own breakfast; there is free coffee and a microwave, though
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed here for 1 night since we did not have a lot of time to spend in Gyeongju. The owner was extremely helpful and nice. We got upgraded to a bigger room, which was of course nice. The guesthouse is located near the bus station, and near all of the attractions in the city. It's totally worth the price and will definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a clean comfort room and good location.
Cons: None

Pros: Beautiful Hanbok house, friendly and helpful owner
10.0 Excellent
Cons: No telephones in the rooms, electronic locks nor room doorbells.

Pros: It has great location and beautiful surroundings
Cons: You pay for using swimming pool separately and it is very expensive for summer season.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Most of the restaurants were closed, despite advertisements on the hotel room TV.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and helpful staff at check-in and guest service! Our family room was very spacious and offered enough room for a family of 4. Perefect place to see the Cherry Blossoms.
Cons: It is a little far from downtown and the sights. You have to use a taxi to go around. Breakfast was very busy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff, a family friendly swimming pool and comfortable beds. The hotel prepares breakfast for kids as well. Organized well for a family with kids.
Cons: Wating for check in and check out was not a pleasant experience...
5.5 Okay
Pros: nice view but nothing more
Cons: I have never been to a Hilton that makes you pay 23 pounds per person per day to use the swimming pool. That is disgusting. No where does it state on booking.com or Hilton website that you have to pay extra for the swimming pool. The room was expensive for what you got which is an average bedroom. No breakfast, below standard shower, uncomfortable pillows. We only went for 2 nights and even if we wanted to pay 46 pounds on the second day the pool was closed all day. No compensation nothing. I would never stay there again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hilton quality with Asian service say it all. Hugely popular with families. Plenty of restaurants to chooz from. This is our third time here, and still loving the hilton, except at breakfast time
Cons: Breakfast time is like eating in the street, so so so crowded, although the variety of food is widely offered
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Deffenetly one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: 40 minutes waiting time for check-in + extra-costs for everything!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: none
Cons: screaming from roller coaster nearby. poor poorly insulated room door and noisy corridor. terrible staff with ugly attitude picture of front desk manager
7.0 Good
Pros: comfort, breakfast, location
Cons: pricey

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was good to explore the city but walking. Bus stops right outside and 10 minutes walk to one market .. 15 minutes to shopping. Room was spacious and cleaned every day. Staff friendly although little English. Although check in time is 3 they are happy to store bags etc. was travelling by myself this time and felt completely safe.
Cons: As per previous comments .. carpet in rom is worn .. but overall completely adequate.
4.5 Okay
Pros: comfortable bed, at least there was one person who spoke english in this hotel that advertises itself as "tourist".
Cons: breakfast was a disaster. bad quality food, cold food, bad service and depressing atmosphere. On top of that, breakfast only available till 09.10hrs. Lights in room switch on automatically at 8.00 hrs....time to get up? Room looks comfortable at first sight, but smell of cigarettes, despite all smoking penalties and warnings. All in all, I wonder is this a hotel or a prison? Upon check out nobody asked me about my stay and I very much doubt the reliability of the relatively high "booking.com score" the hotel eagerly advertises....
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms were big and comfortable. We enjoyed having a lot of space. It was also right next to a convenient bus stop and it wasn't far to walk to the interesting parts of town.
Cons: It took a long time to be seen at the front desk and the staff refused to provide water for guests using the fitness centre.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I left clothes behind (forgot) and they were never found, when we called they said they did not have it. It was a bunch of stuff in a bag and a leather jacket.
7.5 Good
Pros: Does everything it claims to do. Nothing outstanding but a comfortable stay and a good choice for location. Bus stop right outside and express bus station round the corner
Cons: It wasn’t full and we arrived at 1pm the inability to check in seemed to be part of the rules rather than I’m sorry but your room isn’t ready yet. However they stored our bag and we happily hit the tourist trail. Plastic mattress protector ☹️
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Given the very reasonable price of this hotel, we were pleased with it. The room was spacious, and location was excellent, right next to the bus stop, and just along the road from the park entrance. The breakfast was very good too - they even had Earl Grey Tea!
Cons: The recliner chair in the room was old and a bit saggy, and got in the way. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were cold. And the bathroom could use a handrail and space to put toiletries. These are minor complaints!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, spacious room and huge bathroom.
Cons: Check in - had to wait more than 1 hour.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location within walking distance of most sites I wanted to see. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bottled water was appreciated. Overall, great stay!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value. Good location. Huge room. Brilliant bath.
Cons: Definite ex-love-hotel vibe.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is good and they had free parking.
Cons: While checking in we were told that we have to pay an additional fee (16.000 Won) if we wanted to pay with card, when I took out my phone to check the booking details they changed their mind really quick. The heating was very insufficient and the room cold. We had blood stains underneath the pillows.
7.0 Good
Cons: No reception service
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location
Cons: Was very difficult to sleep because every 20 minutes a very loud humming noise was coming from somewhere, maybe from a boiler or other electrical system, extremely annoying. Also no toilet roll and the sheets on the bed kept sliding off the duvet as they were not attached. Uncomfortable.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is excellent! Just a 5 minute walk through the tombs to great cafes, restaurants, and shops. Check in and check out were very easy, and it was nice to not have to rush on our last morning, as the check out time is noon.
Cons: The room was dingy, and although the A/C made it too cold, if we turned it off for too long, the room became very stuffy. As a westerner, I prefer my bed be a little softer, and I really missed having a comfortable pillow.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is good, short walk to some of the historical sites and to the city tour bus stop... loads of places to eat out at walking distance.
7.5 Good
Pros: The bed was so unbelievably big. I've honestly never seen such a big bed in my life. Wow.

7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel makes a good first impression, it is just a few minutes away from the Hwabaek International Convention Center, and the hotel is good for large groups. It first annoyed me that I had to book the sauna to visit the fitness room, but a visit to the spa is absolutely worth 14000 won!
Cons: I have no idea how the hotel got the 5 stars on booking.com. As far comfort and attention to details are concerned, it's more like a 3-star hotel. Given the price I had to pay, it wasn't very surprising though. Do not book the traditional Korean room unless you know what you are doing! It's not about adding some local flair to your experience. Instead, it's just about not having elementary conveniences that an average european takes for granted: a chair, a desk, and some kind of a mattress.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very good spa and pool (with additional charge, but really fair price (30,000 KRW for 1 adult + 2 children; <20,000 KRW for spa only)). Staff is veryfriendly and helpful.
Cons: Restaurants quality: average and limited offer in low season. Ondol rooms are on 3rd and 4th floor and have no view. And too hot. Rooms are a bit old and should be refurbished. Like many hotels around the lake, K-Hotel is designed first for weddings and congress. Makes it a bit impersonal. But ok for the price.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly staff, big room, clean.
Cons: complete lack of charm, for from everything you want to see in Gyeongju- but that is true for all of these major hotels in this area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: spa center and location. Breakfast buffet is very nice, good selection and reasonably priced. Children eat for free.
Cons: No coffee making facilities in room, just two bottles of water. Rated as five star but it actually is only 3. Nothing bad about it but definitively not a five star room or facility. Prices match a 3 start hotel and guests get a 50% discount for pool and sauna.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast buffet was good
Cons: Room was little bit small
6.3 Good
Cons: Breakfast not up to the international standard, more to local style. Interior are more to local style. wooden furniture .

Pros: Such nice staff! I felt very welcomed when i arrived and whenever i needed help they were there and just so accomodating. The room was big and clean, so was the bathroom. Heat blanket in the bed was so cosy. Bulguksa temple was right around the corner.
Cons: Really close to Bulguksa temple but not much else. I suppose i arrived off season, but i had trouble finding open restaurants. In fact, I walked around for like 20 minuts and only saw like 3 people.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cost and cleanliness
Cons: Old computer software. Hard bed.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Distance to temple
Cons: Room needs renovation especially the bathroom.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is near Gyeongju amusement park in Bomun Resort. Quite far (15 mins with taxi) from the town but it has cinema and other convenient stores around. The hotel itself is quite remote so you can have your peaceful sleep in silence.
Cons: The beds are quite hard and the room was slightly cold. I wish that they have warmer rooms for us.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, fresh air, good breakfast
Cons: People drunk outside late at night on a weekday
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The parking lot was huge (in comparison to other hotels in Korea) and the staff has been very kind and professional.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall, it is quite good. The bed is comfortable, air conditioning is working. Breakfast is good, there is a lot of options for everyone taste.
Cons: Something stinks in the bathroom. The humidity is quite high at the bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and tidy. very nice balcony. even faced a blossom tree right outside my room! Nice location near the lake, only a few minutes' walk from the bus station where you can easily get a bus to city center
Cons: The balcony was obviously never cleaned...had to wipe out all the dust on the chair before sitting down. Not a big deal though, probably it was never used in the winter that just passed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A decent hotel, clean and good location
Cons: Bit overpriced due to holidays
8.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: N/A
7.5 Good
Cons: Smoking in rooms comes through vents and is extremely unpleasant
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super kind and nice. They checked me in early without extra payment. There's a small gym near the lobby. The room has all the necessary facilities. Instead of one big bath towel there are four small napkins, but they are very absorptive.
Cons: There's no curtain in shower, so you're essentially showering quite above the toilet which is getting wet, even if you put the lid down.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing
Cons: Hard mattress
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is clean, with sufficiently large rooms, and all the basic facilities (but no kettle - although there is a hot water dispenser on the floor and a free coffee machine in the lobby). The bathroom was very nice, and had a generous supply of shampoo and body wash (which is a consideration if you need to shower more than twice a day due to the high heat and humidity). Staff were very nice and helpful. Finally, the price was great - very much worth the money.
Cons: There is no sidewalk access to the property from the front - you have to walk along the road (this is a motel, after all). There is a pleasant path going to the back of the property, but it is not terribly well sign-posted, and is not suitable for those with reduced mobility or with luggage (you need to jump over a little stream and take some irregular stone steps). There is nowhere nearby to have an early breakfast - you need to walk for 15 minutes or so to the nearest place which opens before 9.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The facilities offerred.
Cons: please provide english speaker at any time. It is a little harder to communicate. Amenities like tea or coffee sachets were not available.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: good location
Cons: no breakfact
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good access to attractions and restaurants. Staffs were very kind and provided really good services.
Cons: Everything was perfect
4.5 Okay
Pros: We liked the location. A lot of buses that connected you to different attractions was brilliant. The hotel staff let us drop off our luggage at the hotel after check out so we could sightsee.
Cons: When we arrived the first lady at the front desk was trying to argue with my friend regarding the price. She was asking why was it so cheap? We had the booking.com to prove I would be paying the Korean won equivalent of £25. She was not happy. This was really awkward as we never set the price. The air conditioner not powerful. I couldn’t sleep with the heat. We only had small towels that would only fit a baby. When we called for actual human size bath towels the guy at the front desk was arguing with my friend. They kind sent up 4 bath towels but only because my friend wouldn’t give up.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has great facilities such a kitchen with a common area and a gym. The double room was spacious with a clean bathroom and tube.
Cons: Far from the central part of the city.
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Gyeongju Sarangbang Guesthouse in Gyeongju, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Bomun Lake and Blue One Water Park.
6.8 Good
Pros: + location is very good, near by bus terminals + wifi worked well + the histess was kind ( but she didn't speak englush) + common kitchen where was possible to make breahfast (therd were i.g. eggs, toasts, coffee/tea available). + traditional korean style accommodation.
Cons: - the room was shabby and small. There was not enough shelfs or tables for goods and hooks for towels - water was icecold or boiled hot, it was difficult to get a shower.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Well, it is a traditional Korean house, so the level of comfort of the room can not be expected as in a regular hotel, not even a motel, you are going to sleep in the floor, and have a little room, but that is what the experience of sleeping in a place like that is about.
Cons: There is not an actual reception there, so a very nice person, would show up eventually and open the room for you at check in time. It is not very convenient if you expect to leave your bags before the check in, start visiting places, and check in later.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - love the garden and the kids spent a lot of time outside - we love the attached bathroom and self service kitchen. The owner got us eggs and we loved having breakfast at the garden - we loved the ondol system (heated floor) and experience in the traditional hanok - amazing location near bus terminal and walking distance to sights
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location. Quick and simple breakfast of bread, butter, jam and eggs provided. Simple place for tired legs after the tours.
Cons: Nothing to say.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's near to landmarks such as Cheongsomdae and other tourist attractions nearby this ancient observatory. If you want to go to Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, there's a bus stop directing to those two locations near the hotel. Staying at Sarangbang makes you experience a little bit of how to live in Korean traditional house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Place with great location, nearby bus station, very cozy room. Host is kind woman, thanks for keeping our luggage! Sleeping on the floor, traditional bed and small pillow. Space enough for 4 people and that's the limit.

Located in Gyeongju, Time Motel is within a 15-minute drive of Bomun Lake and Blue One Water Park. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: super clean, decent value for the price, lots of space, free wifi, free toothbrushes, at least some of the front desk staff spoke english. The whole town is geared towards young couples escaping for the alone time, and this place was no exception--softcore channels, odd images of lingere all over the place and weird poorly translated romatic poems. The difference is that in america such a place would be filthy, but Time Motel was squeaky clean. If you need a clean place to stay with good access to central gyeongju, you won't be disappointed with time motel.
