Pros: We had a fantastic trip with Huong Hai Sealife Cruise. We were upgraded to the Legend cruise for no extra charge which was amazing. From being collected at our hotel to boarding the ship it was very relaxed and well organised. Once aboard the ship we met the crew - Mr Jackie Pham, Minh, Rosie and Hana. All of the staff make this cruise extremely comfortable and memorable - the food, spa, itinerary and the route taken is superb. Regarding the food, Rosie and her team made sure that GlutenFree food was available as I am a Coeliac and they went above and beyond to do this. I couldn't recommend the cruise enough- a huge thanks to Mr Jackie for such a memorable time. Definitely would have done 2nights retrospectively!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The luxurious cabins. Beautifully furnished and spacious. Friendly and courteous staff. Fantastic meals and excursions.
Cons: That we could not stay longer.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a really nice time at the Huong Hai Sealife cruise! The staff, the food, the rooms and of course the beautiful scenery made this a really memorable trip and we all agreed that this was one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam. It seemed a little pricey to us at first (seeing as it was only for one night), but in the end we were all very satisfied and felt that it was worth it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The boat is indeed immaculate, clean and comfy. The rooms are just awesome and the amazing showers are paradise on such a ship. The kayak tour is a highlight. The staff is super friendly, and will help you arrange transfers in a very flexible manner (Mr. Viet was awesome). The view of the bay is just wow. The lunch buffet was great and the breakfast too! (Just the dinner was not very good) The bay is very clean and the locals do their best to keep it plastic-free.
Cons: The visit of the cave is a bit of a struggle since there's hundreds of people. The dinner food was meh. Would've wished some better quality food. My swimpants smelled of death after sitting on the Kayak. The transfer could be faster as they clearly take the shortest route, not the fastest.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ha and Viet were absolutely amazing. Such great energy and genuinely happy people. The entire staff was so respectful and polite. The rooms were also very clean and spacious. Would recommend to anyone looking to do an overnight cruise in Halong bay.
Cons: Nothing ! Wish we were there longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and spacious. It was a real treat to be there... Ha and his staff were absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have wanted for more - lovely people and oh so helpful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The boat was gorgeous - spacious, clean, well looked after. I loved the sun deck and our room was really lovely and very well-equipped. The bed was huge and comfortable and the windows offered a great view. The shower was brilliant and had hot water and the spa bath was an extra treat (although it seemed to have not been used for a while!). The air con was great and it was lovely to have the option to sit out on our own balcony as well as going up to the sun deck with chairs and sun loungers. There was a wide selection of food, which was delicious and fresh. The trips off the boat and activities on the boat were really well organised. The kayaking was really fun and included an introductory demonstration for anyone who hadn't done it before. Viet and his team gave us an introductory talk when we landed at the cave and when we went to the fishing village, so we knew where we were and what we were seeing. In reality, you're on the boat for less than 24 hours, but the whole trip was really well organised and the staff were very friendly, helpful and kept us well-informed.
Cons: Once you book, there are a lot of extra charges - $25/ person for a return transfer from Hanoi, $10/ person for the kayaking trip and no drinks are included. I was disappointed about the amount of plastic being used on board - it is sad to see so much plastic floating in the bay, especially when we went out on the kayaks and into the fishing village. I would have hoped that companies operating in the bay would be doing more to help combat this, but plastic straws were served with drinks and the sale of water in plastic bottles was pushed - only at lunch on the first day and brunch on the second day was drinking water available, even then, when we just asked for a glass of water, we were not directed to the jugs available and instead they tried to sell us a plastic bottle. If we wanted water with our dinner or up on the sundeck, we had to buy a pricey plastic bottle. There were a couple of glass bottles of drinking water in our room, but making drinking water available in jugs/ glasses throughout the trip would be a big step towards helping reduce the amount of plastic being used. The journey to get there took a very long time - from being picked up at our hotel to arriving at the waiting area, it took 4 hours. We then had a further 45minute wait before boarding the boat. According to Google Maps, which I have found to be pretty accurate around the world, the journey should take about 2 hours 15 minutes. There was no traffic hold-ups and somehow the journey took over an hour longer than that. We mentioned it on our comments form and they tried to claim that Google maps wasn't accurate and that it was because the drivers took safety into consideration. On the transfer back (which took an hour less than our journey there), I tracked our journey on Google Maps and the route they use shows as over an hour longer than the suggested route on Google Maps. Be prepared for a lot of time sat in a mini van!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic time with a two night cruise on this boat. Kien, Viet, Ha and all the staff made it a great experience. Relaxing with great food, drinks and of course the scenery. The boat was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Contrary to other comments we have seen very little rubbish on the water.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff went beyond expectation to ensure we were happy. We let them know in advance that this was our honeymoon stay and they treated us exceptionally well.
Cons: We had to wait an hour between arriving at the dock (after a four hour drive) and boarding the boat. It was explained this was to allow for Hanoi traffic, but it felt like a long wait.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don't know where to start. I just don't know if I have ever experienced a more perfect tour. Everything just worked so seamlessly and easily. Vied and his crew take you out on an unfortunately short vacation. After being shuttled to the reception point at the port where you are greeted by the staff and a drink while you're waiting you're shipped to the boat where the crew is giving you a very warm and special welcome. The overnight trip is well-timed with lots to do and much to eat. I have never experienced such an attentive and helpful staff. Every room gets their own table but when you're a solo traveler and you're caught enjoying a conversation on the sun deck with others they might just ask you if you would like to be seated together in the dining room where everything is already being arranged at that very instant. Of course if they overhear you talking to others about not liking seafood they'll bring an alternative to your table. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is warm and there is always a crew member smiling at you and open to any kind of question or request. Every team member has many jobs to do and I don't know when they are able to take a break. Therefore it remains unknown to me how they can keep up their efforts and attention to the customer. The rooms are just fantastic and of course so is the scenery. I could go on but you should experience all that by yourself.
Cons: Maybe at some point the music was a bit too loud in the dining room.

Pros: Day trip kayaking at the more remote areas was briljant, and I would recommend everyone to do a 3 day tour.
Cons: Not all staff can speak English, but Ving (Host) was an absolute lovely guy with great energy. They try to meet every need, very friendly!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food and service was excellent. We went to areas that were not crowded and we felt like we were kyaking around and swimming in our own private bay. The staff were exceptionally helpful and made the trip most enjoyable. Tim and Megan went out of their way to assist us on every occasion. Thanks to the team for an amazing experience.
Cons: Everything was perfect thanks to Tim and Megan

Pros: Love the surprise cake and the roses for my birthday. Thanks so much for going above and beyond good service for your customers..

This vessel pulls anchor and sets sail from Ha Long for at least part of your stay. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Event facilities at this cruise ship consist of conference space and a meeting room. A cruise ship terminal shuttle is available for a surcharge.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great food, nice crew
Cons: Very rushed over the full day
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were travelling as a large group of friends, 4 adults, 5 children. I shopped around on the net and was overwhelmed by all the options available. It was a daunting task to choose, but we made the right decision without a shadow of a doubt. Transfers were comfortable and took the stress out of travelling there away. The facilities were beautiful and clean. Rooms are comfortable, views (balcony room) were amazing, and crisp clean linen and towels are provided. Food was great (set menus) for lunch and dinner. Breakfast had a large selection. Free to either part take in cruise activities, or stay on the boat. Bearing in mind that this is a tourist hot spot, the cruise did not feel like a packaged tour. Would definitely recommend, either as a romantic breakaway or group.
Cons: N/A
7.9 Good
Pros: The second day was amazing. The food was great and our room was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond for a member of our groups birthday and were so hospitable
Cons: The first day of the trip was bad, we went to a cave and then to ti top island both of which were absolutely rammed with tourists. With better planning these trips could be done early in the morning or later in the evening to make the experience more pleasurable. The amounts of rubbish floating around halong bay is absolutely heart breaking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place took our breath away! The cruise was simply beautiful and the staff were so lovely, welcoming and enthusiastic the entire time ! We stayed for two nights and three days and I would say that this is a MUST! We noticed that the guests who only stayed the one night had a rushed schedule and only had time to visit the big tourist attractions that were flooded with people, however the two nights three days allows you to venture further out on the second day and see the true beauty of Halong bay with only a few people in sight! I would 100% recommend staying two nights as I think it would be a waste not too, we were able to kayak through a fishing village, walk through a cave to swim at a secluded beach and these were things that are only available to people who have that extra day as on the first and last day (which follows the schedule of people staying one night) we went to a cave and a beach that was filled with hundreds of people and it just wasn’t nearly as beautiful or breathtaking as kayaking through Halong bay on our own. The cruise line makes everything fun regardless but 100% recommend staying the two nights three days as you see so much more!!! Picture included is the secluded beach!
Cons: The tourist areas weren’t very fun as they were just so busy and hot, the second day where we had a full day was completely different and the best day of our trip to Vietnam!
6.3 Good
Pros: We were surprised to be upgraded to Hera cruises although we purchased Aphrodite cruises. There were some explanations and history given at the local fishing by our local guide/cruise member James which we later found out he merely learnt English 2 years ago. I'd say for someone whom has just learnt English he deserves a clap on the back.
Cons: There wasnt wifi eventhough it was advertised to have it. The room we stayed at (hera land) has a completely spoilt sliding door latch. We had to use our strength to close the connecting door to the bathroom. Room smelled dank and there were many stains on the long couch as well as bedsheets. Hair dryer was super slow and lack of blowing capacity; but we also faced this at other hotels we stayed at. Food tasted bland for most dishes and English level for the staff could be improved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing time on our cruise! The day trips and excursions were all great. The staff were all so friendly and polite! Would definitely recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything! Room was comfy and the view was so beautiful, food was amazing, tours were lots of fun. Staff (David, Jennifer, Chris) were so friendly and so much fun and became our friends. We loved this cruise so much. They also did something very special for our anniversary which we were so grateful for. Highly recommend this cruise.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Halong bay is recognised as a UNESCO heritage site but isnt protected as it should be.
Cons: There are way too many cruises and nothing is regulated, I witnessed buckets of trash being dumped out of cruises and piles of floating rubbish polluted the waters. The visit to Sung sot cave was a nighhtmare as heards of people were just let in all at once without any proper planning or schedules, we were stuck in non moving lines and being pushed and shoved around (mind you, it is July and absolutely hot and humid). The visit to Soi sim Island for "swimming" was a bigger no as that was also overcrowded and the overpolluted waters was not appealing at all to get in to. It is a beautiful place but I could not stay long enough to enjoy it, as all these oversights and lack of consideration to the envoirnment was too much to take. This is not a fault of Aphrodite cruise alone, but I hope the industry does take action on it soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing! Apple was very friendly. Food was incredible the views were stunning and plenty of activities to keep you entertained.
Cons: That we only booked for 1 night...should of booked 2 nights!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very kind and the food was way better than anything we had expected. Everthing was also very clean and the rooms had great beds.
Cons: We booked the 3-day/2-night cruise. Activities on day 1 were pretty crowded (lot's of other boats). Activities on the second day were great!

Pros: What a wonderful experience. Staff accomodation food and activities the best. From the first instance of booking we received communication regarding our itinerary and transport to and from the boat. Any changes were communicated immediately. Staff on board were fantastic. They knew when to engage and when to afford privacy. We were made to feel like people not a number on this trip. There was plenty of time for activities and relaxing. If you are going to experience Ha Long Bay , do yourself a favour and book through Indochina Sails Cruise. Our trip was cut short one night due to a tropical depression and were refunded half our accomodation fee in cash which was more than fair. Highly recommend this company. The rooms were beautiful including the bathrooms. Our boat was the two room Valentine. Food was delicious and plenty of it. We would like to make a special mention of staff member Lucas who was our tour guide. Very professional and knowledgeable of the area and Vietnam. He managed all tours meal times and onboard activities with exceptional manners and humour. It was a pleasure to be in his company.
Cons: Nothing, I have no complaints at all. It was clean safe and staff were great. Would sail with them again. Highly recommend this company as there are so many out there.
6.7 Good
Pros: Deluxe room was spacey with a batch which we had no chance to use anyway. The bed was comfy. There was a lot of for on dinner and breakfast. The lunch was average. The scenery was beautiful.
Cons: The barman and price. We were supplied with 1L of water for a stay in tropics. For extra water or even tea outside meal hours we had to pay. The barman was rude. Beverages were very expensive even for western standards. The wine was not good. Ha Long bay has no life present, the water is not clean and full of floating trash. Not much attractions on the boat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable cabins, dining area and deck areas. Beautifully laid out, very clean. Absolutely stunning views of the bay and very relaxing as you sail through the islands. Booked the 2N3D tour and the day boat to be able to get to quieter areas of the bay was also exceptional. You can also choose to kayak through the islands. We were also taken to a secluded beach which was beautiful. Staff were amazingly friendly and very attentive. The set menu meals were delicious and the buffet was full of amazing seafood. Would book again if we come back to Halong Bay.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were truly excellent and forthcoming; they always went the extra mile. They even arranged a pick up of our luggage in Hanoi which the airline had lost during our flight. The boat was stunning and very clean. It was a wonderful stay!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The boat was very comfortable. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food was great.
Cons: The visit to the cave was not very interesting. Titop Island was extremely crowded but the view from it makes it a worthwhile stop.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The boat decor was beautiful, the staff are super friendly and really went out of their way for you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We live an incredible experience. We had this cruise hired, but for some reason (maybe they had oversold the boat, we didn't finish knowing it well), they sent my family (my wife, me and three children of 9, 13 and 16) to an exclusive boat, who had only two incredible rooms and the whole ship was for us. The ship was the Valentine. The service, the people and the food a quality scandal. We hire the shared transfer and we end up having round-trip transfer in private combi. The truth is that everything was of excellent quality. They could have chosen to do it bad for us and chose the opposite. In us they will have satisfied customers forever. Luckily I chose this company among the other several options available. INCREDIBLY GOOD AND RECOMMENDED.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views from deck and room. Only a few people on board which made the tour almost private. The timing of the itinerary was really relaxed, it didn't feel rushed at any time.
Cons: Kayaking was advertised but turned out to only be part of the 2 nights program.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The deck was really ample with amazing wiews. Excursions were well organized and interested.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money. The young guides were great.
Cons: The bacon in the restaurant was a bit too tough. ( streaky bacon in our Hanoi Hotel was good. )

Pros: Great service, great location.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort, excellent value for money. Pool was incredible and huge! Gorgeous scenery with immaculately kept grounds. Super convenient transport to and from the island, with a little buggy that gets you to and from the hotel to the port. Gym was also nice. Breakfast was excellent, huge selection with every cuisine you could want - looked forward to breakfast every day! Travel agent at the resort also helped us book 2 tours which were great. Cocktail bar in the pool was also great (a bit expensive), especially when good cocktails are hard to come by in the area, it was great that the bartender put a lot of effort into making a great drink.
Cons: Check in was easy but check out took a long time and we were waiting for our luggage to be transported from the island to the mainland for an hour - which almost caused us to miss our bus. This was very stressful and staff were a bit unhelpful and just kept telling us it would be 5 minutes and to sit down and wait. While breakfast was great, buffet dinner was only OK, since it was buffet - food was not particularly fresh. While this resort is 'luxury', it is FULL of children - this is not the resorts fault of course, but just prepare yourself for screaming children everywhere. Perhaps there needs to be an 'adult only' area.

Pros: We stayed two nights in the pent house and were extremely happy. The room was amazing with beautiful breath taking views. We cannot fault the room at all. The food here also is 5
Cons: Not one thing to fault

6.3 Good
Pros: Everything
Cons: Asked for a towel but didn’t receive it until I had to ask again which was 4 hours later after I came back to my room. The sink was broken as I couldn’t get the water to sink as the hole was blocked. The boat was very noisy I could even hear it in my room. The electric car pickup was quite slow as someone should stand outside to quickly move the people out
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We received amazing service from Vinpearl staff during our stay. Apart from that my 3 yr old Son had stomach ache and the staff helped us to go to emergency medical care including arranging a taxi to the hospital in the late night hours.. The service Provided by the hotel was phenomenal.. I have never experienced such a gratitude and hospitality from any hotels so far.. thank you Vinpearl and the entire team for the lovely gratitude!!

Pros: Our initial cruises cancelled on us last minute and we are so glad they did! We had such an amazing time here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It was nice to be away from the crowds when we cruised as we had heard it can get busy with boats but we hardly saw any. Loved the kayaking and even though it rained on the last day we had a great time.

Pros: Everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the staff were amazing and the boat was fantastic. We loved the kayaking and enjoyed the more quiet area of Bai Tu Long Bay over Halong Bay.

Pros: Halong bay it is just stunning it is a huge must and with paradise cruise you will enjoy it. The staff, the food on board and the room was pure perfection.
Cons: Not many activities during the cruise, and it is not 3 days 2 nights cruise it is more like 2 days 2 nights as your are checking in at 12am and checking out 2 days later at 11 am, so basically you are not even 48h on the boat

Pros: The food, the services and the tour
Cons: The Queen/king dinner dress need to be repaired/renewed. They broke some parts. Also in the room need more hooks for hanging clothes, towel, etc

Pros: The staff makes this experience so memorable. Rachel and her team did an outstanding job with customer service. Truly great hospitality. The food is delicious and the chill atmosphere of the cruise, with a small number of people, is just right!
Cons: The sundeck terrace could have some umbrellas because it gets quite hot. This next comment is no fault of Paradise Luxury, it is more about Ha Long Bay. There are limited number of activities you can do on the bay and it gets quite packed with tourists.

Pros: Beautiful historical boat, food was great and staff were very friendly and helpful
Cons: Uncomfortable beds and lack of internet
5.8 Okay
Pros: Not much to be honest. Ha Long Bay is beautiful but tourism like this has ruined it. Every sight is filled with swarms of people, the activities are highly controlled and sterile of any real enjoyment. You can’t swim in the bay except for 30 mins in a cordoned off area of a man made beach with the guests of 10 other ships so you’re basically in a sticky polluted suncreamed tourist soup. You can kayak sure, for about 20 mins again in a corderned off area. Want to explore a cave? Great?! But you’ll have to get up there at a glacial pace as you que all the way up the 600 steps to the top as Vietnamese and Chinese tourists for some reason try pushing past you constantly as if it’s going to get them there any faster. Food was okay, I actually found the Vietnamese food served at lunch to be pretty poor quality and I ended up not eating much of my plate which is odd for me as I love Vietnamese food. It had a strange flavour. The western food in the evening was quite nice and I liked that breakfast included grilled tomatoes and beans.
Cons: Room smelt of damp Bed was rock solid Drinks are 4x more expensive than on the shore The staff were so unhelpful they ruined the trip and we left a day early. We booked a 2 day 3 night trip and were happy with the itinerary which said our second day would be spent exploring various caves and islands etc on our own without the 1 night people. After dinner the ship manager came over to us and explained we wouldn’t be doing that but instead would be taking a boat to the market in Ha Long and would spend the morning there before coming back to port and meeting the new passengers then we would repeat everything we did on the first day again. We told her we had spent money to be in the bay on a boat not at a market and that we didn’t want to see the same sights all over again. We spent hours speaking to her about this, mainly because she wouldn’t leave us alone. We had many debates about why we wouldn’t want to go to a market or do the same things twice, and we spoke to the main customer service team on the phone a number of times as they were refusing to let us cancel because of booking.com commission which we said we would pay if necessary. The next morning I had emails saying that the itinerary was not just the market and the manager told me that this is not what she had said and it was just her poor English that was the problem but she had seen the itinerary now as it had been emailed to her and we could do all of those things if we wanted. Clearly that makes no sense, either she knew the itinerary before and explained it totally wrong or she received it later by email and decided we could do that but it can’t be both. Its very strange to say it’s the fault of her English considering the long conversations we had all about the market and doing the same activities again. If she cannot speak the language of the majority of her guests well enough to regurgitate an itinerary that they must run quite regularly then perhaps she is not in the right role.

Pros: Emeraude created the perfect surroundings for exploring Halong Bay. The staff was very helpful, the food was delicious, program well organised. A little detail such as the week chosen background music at the sun deck and during meals was nice. I will definitely recommend Emeraude!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historic ambiance, well maintained, exceptional staff, a good mix of covered and uncovered deck areas to lounge. Would recommend.

Pros: The food was great and the service very good. The Paul Roque room was the stand out as it included a private deck area at the front of the boat on the second floor.

Pros: Our tour guide, Can was very friendly and helpful. He went an extra mile to arrange our bus accommodation after we left the cruise ship. There was a wide variety of dishes cooked by the staff on board for the guests’ meals. They also took note of each guests’ dietary needs.
Cons: The itinerary for the 1 day stay at Legacy Cruise ship can be slightly improved (E.g more water activities or a selection of other alternative activities (for instance, we could not do squid catching as it was low season for squids to be out roaming in the sea) Guests would also need to take note that there is no WIFI on board (good way to disconnect)

Pros: We really enjoy the trip so much. It was a lot of fun when doing kayaking and swimming in the halong bay. The views is beautiful especially in the Surprising Cave. Our tour guides Mr Lucky is super friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of informative throughout the trip. If u like the wooden architecture, royal palace Cruise is the best choice.
Cons: Maybe the generator not strong, so the rooms will just have air con after 5pm.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: There was a lot of food and the activities were well organised
Cons: The room was way smaller than the photos ( but you’re on a boat so to be expected )
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was absolutely fantastic. Food was glorious and plenty of it. We had a great tour guy named Tony and Alex on board was very helpful. An unexpected upgrade to the Royal Suite was amazing. I was celebrating my 50th birthday on board and was supplied a cake. I could not fault anything with the trip. It exceeded all my expectations. It was also a smaller cruise which is what i prefer.
Cons: Lack if internet was our major issue and no free water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was a great cruise. Beautiful scenery and the room was lovely. Alex and Thu were terrific guides, very knowledgable and friendly. The food was delicious and the activities were very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience was amazing. From the time they picked us up with the bus, to welcoming us on the boat and treating us to different food and events. You can get different packages for this boat, which means you end up doing different activities. Two options are 2 days/1 night and 3 days/2 nights. I would highly recommend 3 days/2 nights if you have an extra day to spare. It makes it a much more relaxing experience. You will still see/do all the activities on a 2 days/1 night package, so if you don't have the extra day, you can do it all in 2 days, but its a bit rushed. Remember, you get picked up in Hanoi around 8 am and get to the boat around 12:30 pm. On the way back, the boat drops you off at the pier around 12:30 pm where you are picked up by the bus and then dropped off in Hanoi around 5 pm. They break up the bus drive with one 30-minute stop where you can use a bathroom (clean) and buy snacks/treats. Activities on the boat/off the boat were: hike up a small hill on an island (good views), kayaking, cave visit, karaoke, Tai Chi in the morning, teaching you how to roll Vietnamese fresh rolls. Great food on the boat. Lots of variety, lots of quantity, and they even went out of their way to cater for people with vegetarian and other food requirements.
Cons: It was not always clear what activities were happening 3+ hours in advance. Having a printed out plan and giving it to guests would have helped.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fantastic. Certainly no shortage of food.
Cons: Nothing. The whole experience was enjoyable.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff on board were very intentive and helpful.Activities were fun.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most beautiful boats in Halong Bay, not all plastic and metal. Our group was upgraded to the two Royal Suites with balcony and there were amazing! The rooms are stunning and so comfortable. Tony our guide, and Alex the skipper were really helpful and friendly - always making sure that everyone on board were enjoying themselves and had everything they needed!
Cons: No free drinking water on board
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Alex, the manager, and his crew, are so energetic and engaged in doing things for the satisfaction of the client. They are always there for answering our questions and to accommodate everyone. Everything is so well organized. The meals are incredibly tasty and there is a lot! Only seafood in two days. I was there with my family (husband and 3 teens). We had the Deluxe rooms with private balcony. One of our best in 3 weeks in Vietnam.
Cons: Ha Long Bay is VERY touristic. But it is wonderful. So you will probably go there anyway. If you choose to go, do it in Royal Palace Cruise. And take time to read about how the trip is going on in 2019 to not be too disappointed about activities, beach, plastics in the sea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very good,Alex and crew were superb
Cons: Cost of alcohol drinks, need more bottled water

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I was shocked at how bad this hotel was and am confused by the positive ratings. There was construction from 7:30am to 5pm that was very loud- no sleeping in. We were sold a tour that was terrible and way overpriced. Staff members tried to sell us side services. The AC did not work properly. The staff was not very friendly. Really bad experience. I will never stay at a Wyndham again.

Pros: The buffet breakfast was the best, I have ever had. The food was delicious. And there was a huge variety. The views sensational. It was in a great location. Very clean.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Disgusting and dangerous room. Stank, damp mouldy walls, stained carpet, dangerous wiring, dirty windows, terrible view.

Cons: We could not use swimming pool because of someone’s Wedding. And also very noisy. And damped blanket I cannot find the proper plug for hair dryer Because every electric plug were malfuction
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel to stay in Halong bay and do a one day cruise! The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very kind. We recommend people to stay at least two nights!!
Cons: Everything was perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel it self has a amanzing facilities, brekfast was the best I have ever seen in any hotel. Swimming pool was just perfect and hotel rooms very clean even for european standard. Casino availiable and fun as well.
Cons: The only dislike was laundry servise, which is super expensive and we haven't agreed on price before and they wanted for aprox 3 kg of dirty clothes 100 USD. Also all the plug ins in hotel rooms didint work properly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel . Room is really clean with nice sea view. We’ll come back.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Way too expensive breakfast
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge, clean and I enjoyed the bath tub after a long day of travelling and exlploring Halong.
Cons: Location was far from city center, restaurants, market. We booked an 1 night 2 days cruise through the hotel that was a huge disappointment. I do not recommend Golden Cruise, it was a waste of money, we weren't taken too far from mainland, activities did not meet our expectations. Even though we had full board we had to buy water! Cruiser was old and in need of some renovations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view..the pool and the room service was delicious and not very expensive
Cons: It was amazing the staff were so helpful and the view of the bay superb
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing property with fantastic views. The bed was incredible. The room service was delicious and the breakfast buffet was huge. I had a great stay.
Cons: The tour desk wasn't able to help me book a spa visit. I was a little disappointed. I was able to find a spa on my own so it worked out.

9.1 Excellent
Pros: I paid $150 USD compared to the other $310 offer I received for a solo traveler. I was over being around tourists at this point at the staff was awesome. They let me eat on the stern where they prepare the food and left me alone when for the most part. The crew were really amazing. Hung out with most via Google Translate and Minh the tour guide late night just shooting the s**t. Food was very good and bed was comfortable.
Cons: Nothing. Cruise was great for the price. I believe they offer a shuttle from Hanoi. Halong Bay is over priced for Vietnam, being over developed and has no good places to eat (I'm talking about 50,000 dong pho and com chien place too). Take the shuttle from Hanoi and don't bother with Halong Bay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely attentive and the food was really tasty and plentiful. The activities were very well organised and we weren't bored for the duration of the trip.
Cons: Slightly cleaner bedroom and shower would have made the trip more pleasant but still didn't detract too much from the overall experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and relaxing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The cruise overall was very enjoyable. The staff and tour guides were very kind and knowledgeable. It was a joy to have everyone so accommodating. They even set up a table for the guests who spent the same amount of time on the cruise so that we can be together. The itinerary for the activities were great!
Cons: Our room was slanted a bit that the drain in the shower was on the upper end so water was collecting a lot. Otherwise, things were great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked that they fed you a lot. I loved swimming and just being able to relax in the water. All of the guides were charismatic and very helpful.
Cons: I think it would have been a good idea to better get to know people maybe with an icebreaker just so we all felt like we could approach each other better. It seemed as though the people who were there for one night were separated by the two night people and it didn’t feel as much of a community that way.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing and well organised trip. Value for money! The food was great and plentiful.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Got lots for your money. Amazing food and catered for everyone dietary needs
Cons: Possibly too much food! Don’t like to see waste
7.5 Good
Pros: Without the company of the other fabulous passengers, our 2 night visit would have been boring.
Cons: The food whilst very generous in portions was not always to our liking. There was a lot of variety.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. AMAZING TRIP. Thank you Lihn, Captain and all crew
Cons: Too much food
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Entertaining food preferences
Cons: There should be snacks available to buy in the bar
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Luved the amount of people on the boat. Not crowded at all. The food was great and plenty of it.
Cons: Had to change boats because of some inspections... Second boat wasa nicer boat. But the staff weren't as good.

Pros: Location and service
Cons: Room was a bit small. Other than that all good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The free breakfast was phenomenal. I would pay a good amount of money to eat there. They had rice dishes, pho, chao, standard eggs, quail eggs, tofu, noodle dishes, pastries, toast, and MORE! The room and bathroom was beautiful. They had Kleenex tissues which was nice as I noticed most hotels don't have it here. It was a little odd that they combined two full beds to make an extra large bed, but we couldn't feel the crack.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and took extra care and effort to make sure every need of ours was taken care of. They had quite a lot of options for vegetarians as well!
Cons: The trip felt 'slightly' cramped in terms of its itinerary.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The junk boat was such an intimate, cute little thing. It was very memorable! I woke up two days in a row to beautiful ocean and the sun shining on the islands! I like that they stay away from the more heavily trafficked areas of the bay. The food was usually pretty good, and the quantities were more than enough. The activities were perfectly spaced out and there was a good amount of downtime to enjoy the view. My first guide, Marcus, was really cheerful and fun and told good stories about the region. The second was a bit more businesslike but still good to talk to. Kien was the third guide and he was very helpful and got some fun activities going after dinner time. Overall worth it!
Cons: My sheets were slightly dirty and the comforter was old. The room had a very slight smell to it that was easy enough to ignore but could bother some people. I didn’t spend much time in the room, though. Although most of the food was great, some was lukewarm or bland.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The decision to take the cruise to Bai Tu Long bay vs Ha Long bay was vindicated with the lack of crowds and the more quiet, unpolluted areas. Arrive hungry - you will be fed A LOT and OFTEN! The scenery is amazing and afterall, this is why we go there, right? Having chosen this particular cruise / boat, it was smaller than many which did make for more less partying which was good, and enabled us to soak in the views and have some quality conversations with fellow travellers and staff.
Cons: The cruise itself felt overpriced - more so when we found that other travellers had paid less than we had by booking local. The guides try very hard to ensure you are having a good time - almost too hard so that the forced jokes and enthusiasm felt a bit over the top at times. We had 4 guides over the 3 days / 2 nights itinerary. We were also dismayed to see some of the staff sleeping on the floor of the bar because there was not enough beds for them - yet we know the boat was not full. Our "suite" had a double bed pressed against the wall so one of us had to climb over the other to get in and out.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Ha Long and Bai Tu Bay
Cons: Mechanical in nature. Not much cruising just sitting at Anchor. Kayaks very uncomfortable. Not much information given. Day cruise boat food was awful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were helpful and courteous and were available whenever we needed them. A cruise around Ha Long bay is a must if you visit Vietnam and I recommend using swan cruises to do it.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were amazing! They went above & beyond to ensure our experience was fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful food which just kept coming! Some of the best seafood we have eaten in Vietnam. Great prices for drinks onboard. Lovely cocktails. The day cruise was pretty and we visited some interesting places.
Cons: The air conditioning in our two rooms (interconnecting) was terrible in both rooms. On our second night, it stopped all together and we had no air. In the small rooms it was impossible to sleep. The lovely staff did everything they could to try and accommodate us by supplying fans to the room. There was however not enough fans for all guests! This was NOT the staffs fault in any way, SWAN cruises need to ensure they do not blame the staff for this!
6.0 Good
Pros: La planificación y las actividades fueron perfectas.
Cons: Si quieres beber algo tienes que pagar aparte por ello, no se incluye ni una botella de agua.
6.7 Good
Pros: The boat was nice, very clean. Squidding was fun.
Cons: Our friend couldn't participate in the excursions and stayed on the boat. All the power was switched off, no aircon in middle of the day in very hot conditions! Staff all disappeared, she couldn't ask for a cold drink or anything. Excursions mediocre. There was no orientation or any talk or information about the region. A little bit of info would have been nice. The afternoon "Party" on top deck just felt awkward. The exact same Techno beat blared over and over!! The deck wasn't even set up for the party, the chairs tables etc. were stacked to the side. I hope you like fruit as that's the main staple of food. I do love fruit but not for party food, then served for dinner then desert and then for more snacks! Overall disappointing compared to another trip I did a couple of years ago.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, comfortable accommodations. Food was good and plentiful. Best part was the cruise sailed to a part of Halong Bay that was not crowded
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Jenny our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, welcoming and funny! Also, lots of good activities provided.
Cons: Breakfast was too westernised. It would have been nice to have more Vietnamese options. The souvenir service station half way through the journey is overpriced and the staff try to be helpful, but actually follow you around like a shadow.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Ha Long Bay is really beautiful, but also very contaminated. The staff was really nice and they did their best to entertain us during our stay.
Cons: The ship were we stayed was really old. It wasn't clean and there were roaches on the restaurant. In the restaurant you need to share the table with other guests, which is not a problem, but they put six of us in a table for four people. The room's bathroom doesn't have hangers, just a rusty towel rail that ruined my wet clothes. Not good value for money, for sure you can find a lot better for the price you pay here.

Pros: Location
Cons: They charged me 800K vnd (35$) for the dirty bed sheet (my 18 month old son ate grapes and there are 3 small finger prints on the bed sheet). The carpet is so smelly. And there are a lot Chinese tour groups in the hotel (noisy and crowded all the time)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff at Reception were very warm and helpful
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel is excellent. The reception staff are lovely and the rooms are a really good size. There’s also a lovely pool area.
Cons: We intended to have lunch in the bar but we’re met by an incredibly rude waiter who did not speak or understand any English. This was the only time in the hotel that someone could not communicate with us in English and given that he is in such a guest facing role I really didn’t think it was acceptable. The language barrier I could get over but his aggressive behavior I certainly cannot and this is something management should look into.
7.5 Good
Pros: big room with view .nice jacuzi
Cons: breakfast as not good as 5 star hotel .so crowded hotel at the lobby up on check in time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was very satisfied with everything. Rooms were comfortable and the staff were very professional and efficient. Efficiency is a key attribute in my lexicon, so well done to the staff. Thank you!
Cons: I have no complaints, but if I did I would certainly let you know.
6.3 Good
Cons: Staff attitude is not what i expected from a five star hotel. The bellman on the first day of checking in seem like yelling at us when we tried to be as polite as possible. The quality, facilities and service can not exceed 4 star according to international standard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: english speaking staff and friendly personnel, we love our rooms and the floor we were given
Cons: carpet change (rusty design that looked dirty but on a closer look it was a flower lining)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: View from window out across Ha Long Bay was exceptional. Room was very clean and bathroom facilities were impressive.
Cons: The bar closes very early.

Pros: Lovely and super helpful staff, I felt very welcomed. The breakfast buffet is great and the hotel facilities are just wonderful. I had a great stay and can only recommend it to you.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - room was beautiful and large as was the bed. - great bathroom - recommended tour of Ha Long was very good - excellent choice of breakfast - nice staff
Cons: - Beach and pool are not near the hotel - House keeping made some errors with my clothes and it was an exspensive service. - The island is super quiet so a bar with some energy would have been nice. - Food menu was very limited. - Behind the property is a building claiming to be karaoke which turned out to be super dangerous and me and my friend got harassed by a gang of young men there. The hotel should advise guests to avoid it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about the property. It was so amazing the staff the food everything

Pros: - the room was amazing, the beds were so comfortable (best beds in all our trip) - the breakfast / buffet was really good, there was a lot of different choice - the staff was helpful and very kind - the location was very good (10 minutes from the pier) and calm

Pros: Rooms were big and beds were comfortable. The breakfast has a large variety.
Cons: Breakfast was a walk dow the street. Although it was a short walk it was an inconvience. There are no other restaurants in the area for western cuisine. You are restricted to the hotel. We hired a scooter and made bookings off the island. The pool is NOT on site. They shuttle you to it.

Cons: Sea view turned to be partial sea view . At the time of our stay there was lots of building work noise during the day. Unusual smell in the corridors. The restaurant staff doesn’t speak English therefore they mixed up our order. My friend ordered cheese sandwich and got cheese and ham sandwich. Myself I ordered Halong club sandwich and I received chicken burger.

Pros: Good location nice breakfast Staff professional. Clean shower & room
Cons: nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel with reasonable price
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was clean we asked for a joining room that was great. The view was awesome. The pool was good except when it got busy and the furniture was old out dated. The gym was reasonable...my son is 10 and he trains in our gym at home but he wasn't allowed to train here as you have to be 16yo. Hotel is in a very good location close to sunworld and a 3$ taxi drive to Halong city centre. Staff where good and we had a beautiful desert one night. Banana fritters and split.
Cons: For the price you pay facilities a little worn out the top. Looks like it would have been 5 star back In the early 90s. The bar could have had a better bartender friendly speaking better English and they could have played some music. Cocktails where average we ordered one that tasted like mouthwash. The buffet breakfast I would not have paid for, it came with the deal. It was very dirty with lots Asians talking coughing sneezing over uncovered food. We also took our own utensils as there was so much dirty hands touching them. The coffee had curdled milk and the waiters organising the used dishes next to our table making a huge noise was a shocker. The elevators slow and hot, no aircon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were amazing . Staff very helpful
Cons: Should have been told there would be a room inspection before you can check out. We didn’t know and had a taxi waiting but had to exit until room inspection . Otherwise no complaints

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant staff! Good hotel and great rooms
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Nice shower. Great buffet breakfast. And the staff was really greta to me. I was getting sick and it was bad weather and the staff treated me excellent even though I probably wasn't at my best.
Cons: Halong Bay in general. This is by means no reflection on the hotel, but Halong Bay is way over priced for Vietnam and it being over developed with no good food or nightlife, and I say that in comparison to Saigon or Hanoi or Nha Trang not to the US or other places. If you do get stuck here, Halong Plaza Hotel is a good hotel and a fair price to stay at.

Pros: Amazing staff, location, itinerary, and food. This route visits less busy areas so it is very enjoyable.
Cons: Balcony had broken floor boards. No access to fridge or ice, so you have to pay money and use lots of plastic bottles or drink warm water.

Pros: Our guide, Lucky Hoi, was fantastic, he looked after us well, was informative & was genuinely caring towards all passengers, made this a great experience. Definitely recommend joining his cruise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our room (1 double and 1 single bed)four our family of 4, A/C and a small balcony with ful length windows to take in the view of the bay. The staff were lovely and Hai (our guide) was so friendly and helpful and was with us from the moment we were picked up from our accomodation in Hanoi from the moment we were dropped back off. The meals were great and there was so much! We dont eat pork and our son is vegatarian... they catered to our needs throughout our stay and made so much effort. Special attention was took for our children who recieved properly fitting life jackets which we really appreciated! Activities - - the kayaking was around an hour and was amazing (I went in a double kayak with my 9 year old). And my husband went with our 3 year old in a traditional Vietnamese boat that held about 6 people per boat. - There was a pearl farm stop on the way back from kayaking but thats not our thing so we just waited outside as it was really quick anyway. - Wine and fruit sunset party was really nice to get mix with the other guests and there were fruit juices for those that dont drink wine. - Squid fishing... again, wasn't our thing so we didn't participate in that activity. - Tai Chi morning class on the deck was really nice and our instructor was very enthusiastic. - Cave and beach trip was a really great trip! But you cannot swim in the sea (its some government rule)... paddling is allowed. - Cooking demonstration was great and hands on. Was perfect for the whole family and we made spring rolls. We dont eat pork so we had a separate veggie batch to make.
Cons: The only thing i can fault them on is I think water should be free. It was very expensive too... I think 2 dollars (around 45000 dong) for a small bottle of water which would really add up when it was so hot out and for a family. But we already heard about the drink prices so we brought our own water.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great trip - very busy as lots to do! Kayaking, visiting a cave, squid fishing, karaoke, tai chi. Lots to eat too. They gave us lunch when we arrived, drinks and nibbles, dinner, breakfast - so much to eat! There were vegetarians in our group and there were very accommodating. They cooked various veggie dishes. The beds were super comfy and the views were amazing. There was also plenty of space for everyone so not at all crowded.
Cons: Would like to have had a swim but there was no opportunity.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wooden cabins, felt quite luxurious and the food was very good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Super friendly staff on board. excellent breakfast / lunch & diner
Cons: booked a 3 day 2 night cruise. sadly got calcelled after the 1st night due to expected bad weather
6.3 Good
Pros: We had a comfortable bed. Staff were attentive. Rooms were clean and there was plenty of food.
Cons: We weren’t given enough water. You had to pay quite a lot of drinks. No tea or coffee or snacks provided throughout the day. Our bathroom was not as clean as it should have been with hair around the place. The staff had very little idea of serving etiquette and we saw them littering. The cruise was not relaxing as it was jammed with activities. We had to completely check out of our room at 9am but didn’t leave the boat until 1pm. We had no chance o rest before the journey back to Hanoi. The boat was slightly aged and needs a refurb.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cruise staff were very helpful and friendly especially lucky who was our guide for the second day
Cons: There was too much food and a lot was wasted. Maybe concentrate on fewer but higher standard dishes
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The food and the swimming + kayaking
Cons: They had no Idea what to do with the people who staked two nights

Pros: Good but noisy location

Cons: The smell is not good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is very good, swimming pool is beautiful. I like to stay in Novotel very much. The room is huge and well maintained.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is great, in the central of tourist area. Near Sunworld and not far away from Tuan Chau port. I was here quite long time ago with fam, so I decided to come back and see how things change. Facilities in room are quite old, still in good condition tho. Staffs are friendly and attentive, they noticed my bf bday and congrats him with a (nice) cake. Also gave us a room with nice view of Sunwheel and Water dancing. We also rented a motorbike at a good price.
Cons: Pool is small, not a good choice for anyone who like swimming. it was quite annoying on our last night, small knocking sound played all night.
10.0 Excellent

5.8 Okay
Pros: The room and the vietnamien breakfast
Cons: - there is no beach near to the hotel(as it was wrtitten in the hotel's description) -the outside swimming pool was closed. -the staff in the reception are not very helpful and sometimes very impolite( not all of them, of course) - the room is a 5 stars hotel. The rest of the hotel is a 3 stars hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The views of Halong Bay are amazing. Free spa vouchers were nice. Great location.
Cons: The smell of smoke in the foyer and even on the non smoking floor rooms due to centralised cooling.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: staff are fantastic and price wise it is exceptionally cheap given the quality of the rooms. Decent gym and the casino is a lot of fun.
Cons: food options are incredibly limited. Restaurant menu and in room service where both very disappointing. We ended up getting a taxi to the Halong Bay shopping mall and buying food there as the restaurants near by are also quite disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good. No complaint. Strongly recommended for family vacation and friends. An ideal hotel to stay for relax and friendly staff. Will come again for sure.
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room & staffs.
Cons: Breakfast variety, so many pork items which we do not like as we are tourist here & didn't get chicken/beef items or vegetables without pork.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff from the moment of our arrival were brilliant - extremely professional and welcoming. The rooms are massive with great views and the quality of the furnishings throughout are brilliant. The location is great if you’re looking for nice bars and good restaurants to eat at, a 5 min stroll away takes you to a newly built strip.
Cons: My only negative is the hotel restaurants. The pricing being a lot higher for food in comparison to restaurants nearby (that have beautiful views, amazing food etc). It’s a shame as discouraged us to eat there as there really isn’t anything extra special the restaurant offers to justify being expensive. The lack of customers eating there suggests we were not the only ones to think this.
6.7 Good
Cons: People are smoking everywhere even in elevators. Staff is not speaking english, i have found only one person, and he helped me alot. Others were just smiling and saying "sorry I cant understand you". Another thing is hotel is not trusting you at all.. you need to sign pappers for umbrella, they are checking its condition after the usage (in case of damage u have to pay), personal stopped me during my run in GYM in the middle of the process, as I need to sign somewhere with my room number.. They have a price for every Item in the room, and pricelist is present in the room Windows are very dirty
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The room was spacious and comfortable
Cons: Room smelt of smoke because of people smoking in the casino and passing through the ventilation throughout the hotel. The hotel catered for Chinese generally Located in a construction site
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were big and comfortable, and the sea view was nice too.
Cons: A bit further down the road from the night spot Sun World entertainment area. No free shuttle service to the above mentioned tourist spot and night market place nearby.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The casino is fun and the drinks are free
Cons: 1. In a country where you cannot drink the water, it is a bit ridiculous for the water in your room to be the most expensive thing in the minibar VND 70,000. Even more than a beer VND 60,000!! They still allow smoking everywhere. Went for a swim on the 3rd floor indoor swimming pool and everyone tolerated a guy smoking at the pool.
