10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hosts, excellent location and really just an amazing holiday. Christophe was fantastic from our pick up to drop off and the house was perfectly cleaned every day and the breakfast was beautiful. The location was so peaceful and relaxing with the calming sound of the ocean and beautiful clear skies for star gazing. Top marks for Christophe and his staff!!!
Cons: Can't fault it
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Adorable two bedroom cabin with living room, wrap-around patio, full kitchen, and washing machine. Spotless and new- extremely comfortable. Lovely, quiet location about 15 min walk south of town. Perfect for families. Christophe is very kind and helpful, and his restaurant recommendations are spot on.
Cons: Like most establishments on the island, payment is in cash only- so it's best to come prepared. Banks are only open for a few hours in the mornings and not all cards are accepted at the ATMs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner. All facilities were clean and very good quality
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable & spacious accommodation. Christophe is a good source of advice on exploring the island, collected us from the airport, gave us a guided tour of Hanga Roa and rented us a car.
Cons: The coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christophe was a great host and the accomodation was very comfortable, clean and with a superb view. We enjoyed very much our stay in Easter Island thanks to amazing tips from Christophe, the car we rented from him and the ideal location of the place !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely spotless and extremely comfortable accommodation. Fully equipped kitchen with plenty of space throughout what seemed like a very recently built cabin. On arrival, Christophe was waiting at the airport and started with a quick drive around Hanga Roa to point out places of interest. Christophe was able to provide a car for the duration of my stay, at a reasonable rate. It's a couple of kilometers from the centre of Hanga Roa but unless the weather is bad it's a very simple walk. 25 minute walk also to the Moai at Ahu Tahai, where everybody needs to experience the sunset. WiFi worked without any issues. Easter Island overall exceeded all my already high expectations. It's very difficult to commit to returning again to a place so far away when there's a whole world to be seen, but I'd definitely love to experience that magical place once more and I'll plan to stay in Cabañas Christophe again if I can make that happen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christophe, the owner, was amazing from the minute he picked us up at the airport to when he dropped us back there six days later. Always available, helpful, full of great recommendations and always with a smile
Cons: Nothing, the place was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't say enough great things about Cabanas Christophe. If I ever have the opportunity to travel to Rapa Nui again, I will definitely stay here. Christophe was the best host. He quickly answered questions I had before the trip, picked us up at airport, easiest arrangement for a rental car I've ever had, took us to our restaurant one night when the taxi failed to show, took us back to the airport, and each day delivered the most amazing breakfast on the patio with a smile on his face. Always asked if we needed anything else. And the location, while out of town, was perfect - right across a quiet street from views of the beautiful South Pacific and the start of the trail going up to Orongo if you're into a good workout. Spacious, clean accommodation. I wish we could have stayed longer. If his place is available when you are looking, don't look any further!
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent 3 nights and received an excellent service, we asked for a crib for our 18 month old and it was already in the room when we got there. Christophe picked us at the airport and gave us a quick tour, he also lent us a tourist book which was super helpful to get to know more about the island and moving around. We also rent a car from him which was really easy and comfortable.
Cons: There's wifi but it's not the best, but consider it is a remote island so the signal is not the fastest neither the strongest. So it's a nice opportunity to enjoy life with no internet :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stay here! You’ll love it!

Pros: Amazing stay on the island because of Pepe and his staff! They pick you up from the airport and help you organise your stay depending on your budget with great offers and prices you can't get any better anywhere else. 7.1 Good
Pros: Location and it was mostly clean.

Pros: Great place. The owner picken me up at the airport and dropped me there again.

Pros: Great location, Rosy was really helpful (even with our non existent Spanish). Pickup and drop off to and from the airport was included. Facilities were all really clean.

Cons: It was expensive for what it was but so is pretty much everything on the island so can’t complain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very wonderful, kind and caring hosts. We felt very much at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pick up and drop from the airport made it so much easier for us and the location is fabulous - close to all the key places like beach, main street and shopping areas.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a cosy, well kept place
Cons: The only downside was the WiFi, but that’s across the island.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This property was very clean and quiet. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast included eggs cooked to order, meats, cheeses, fruits, fresh fruit juice, toast, avocado and breakfast treats. The rooms have a small fridge in them. The rooms all have a sliding door that opens up towards the pool area. It was August when we stayed and no one used the pool but it was nice to lookout. You can walk here from the airport - it is about 2 blocks and there is a sidewalk which is made mainly of bricks - but it is still fine to roll your suitcase on. The rooms have tile floors, comfortable beds and was larger than we expected. (We had a king plus twin bed in our room.)
Cons: The wifi was often not working which sounds like it is common on the whole island.

Pros: Paula and view
Cons: It was called a hotel. Needs a door on the bathroom.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location.

10.0 Excellent

Pros: Breakfast - especially Paula's eggs, the fresh juices and coffee - is great. Paula is very gracious and full of great suggestions on what to do, where to eat, etc. All of her recommendations were excellent. We stayed in one of the sunset cottages. Great view from the bed area and porch and very quiet. The vibe here is in line with Easter Island and we loved it! Paula's graciousness continued, even after our stay, as she helped return a left item to me.
Cons: I can't think of anything.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Paila was very kind and made sure it felt like home. The room was clean and had nice decor with sea view. The location is within 6-7min walk from the main street. Breakfast starts at 8:30am and was very nice.

The hotel is walking distance to town with many options for eating and shopping. The room was very spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable (and warm as we visited in July.) The rooms are in good conditions with average level of comfort, but enough for this type of stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel grounds and the hotel itself is really beautiful. We were in a group of eight so we took up one whole house, as each house has four private rooms. The rooms were comfortable and we were relaxed and had an amazing time the full three days we were there. The food was great and we had breakfast there all three days and dinner twice. Our waiter was fun and attentive in the evenings and the breakfast staff were helpful as well. It is a buffet in the mornings but they brought us coffee and whatever other condiments we required. All restaurant staff were pleasant and very helpful. The ladies in reception were all helpful and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Our entire group agreed that it was the most relaxing and beautiful places we have ever stayed at and we would stay there again if we should ever return to Easter Island. Well done!
Cons: Nothing. Maybe better lighting on the paths at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, everything necessary was there without too much exaggerated fanciness, limited but excellent breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very comfortable and had a nice common area. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The staff was great.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Well allocated: The hotel is 5min-drive from downtown and 7min-drive from the south coast. 2. Quiet: no noize at night (or maybe I slept too deeply). 3. Safe: they have guard doing the night patrols. 4. Helpful: Receptionist introduced general travel info to us and helped us contact our car rental company to pick us up. 5. There are 4 bikes you could rent for free from the hotel. 6. Restaurant is good
Cons: The hot water in our room was somehow a little bit unstable, we had to have really quick showers to make sure hot water didn't run off too quickly. (if you wait for a while hot water will come back)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast!
Cons: Far away from town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely professional and easy to work with. Their English was excellent and they quickly worked through any issue that came up. Very satisfied with our stay when considering how remote the Island is.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is very pleasant........basic but funtional. The Bungalow is very nice and is spacious. Bathroom was very clean and spotless. Breakfast at teh Restauarant was very good with a good selection and plentiful. Hotel Reception was good and able to answer all questions. Hotel Transfer pickup was 4 houtrs before actual flight time which seemed rather excessive but when you see how small the Airport check in its worth getting there and processed and get out of the terminal and enjoy last of the Sun.
Cons: Th patio doors did not seem that secure which was a concern as when you closed one side the other side seemed to pop out. Took a little while to get to grips with how you amnaged to close both sides.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel if a little pricey. The staff were mostly very helpful and the breakfast and facilities were all of a high standard. They helped me organise my day trips etc but I would advise doing so far in advance and be aware emails can be slow to get responses.
Cons: After 11pm, reception closes and a security guard appears until 7am when it reopens. The guard was quite rude and unhelpful when I was waiting for the sunrise tour at 5.30am. They also run a shuttle to the airport but it will have you there 4hours ahead of your flight which is ridiculous when you see the airport. I ended up paying a taxi to bring me 2hours ahead of time and that was more than enough time.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to town. The food and drink at the property was excellent. The breakfast buffet was very good. ATM nearby was a plus. Very friendly staff. I will stay here again on my next visit. Thank you!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and most definitely the restaurant staff
Cons: Wifi was very poor

Cons: Nothing I w
6.7 Good
Pros: Great location, located at the main street of Hanga Roa, next to the property entrance there is a small supermarket.
Cons: Poor WIFI. On the 2nd day there is a group of 5 pax check-in who stay next to us, which they held a BBQ party at the garden on the same night and the next night, talked loudly and play music until mid-night. It was so annoying! Will not recommend for travelers who are couple or family but fine if you are a big-group of people. The soundproof is the worst ever, I could even heard my next neighbor who is going No. 1 or 2.
7.1 Good
Pros: Sometimes rating a hotel is difficult. Comparing it with experiences in 'usual' touristic places may be misleading. Comparisons should be made with 'what else' you can find in the same place. This is such a case since the Easter island is an isolated place, in the middle of the ocean with a lot of particularities in the 'methods of construction'. In this context the hotel may be a reasonable budget choice and I may underrate it. The hosts are kind and friendly and I appreciate their effort to have it nicely, painted and decorated. What is beyond doubt is the excellent location. Expect all shorts of provisions and services but at a minimal level.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great people , great hosts, they pick us from the airport and drop us there in our last day. The location is on the main street, near several shops and restaurants.
Cons: Our first room was smelly because of the recent rain .We request to change our room and we received a bigger one, in the backyard .
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean rooms. Shower was good. Hostel was located in the center of the main street of Hanga Roa and all restaurants and shops were on walking distance. Owner was friendly and fanatic BBQ 6 days a week.
Cons: Breakfast was the same each day. WiFi/internet was poor and after certain time no internet access. Rooms were noisy and we heard dogs and chickens in the evenings and sometimes at night.

Cons: The room was basic but adequate Shower was a bit temperamental Would have liked a kettle/ coffee machine in the room and extra towels for the beach would have been nice
9.6 Excellent
Pros: You arrived and instantly felt relaxed, the sound of the ocean could be heard (and seen as you walked to your cabin!) and you were just minutes away from Tahai (the perfect place to watch the sunset!)The breakfast was great! Every morning it was slightly different and obviously made with love! The airport transfer service was such a great bonus and made for a stress-free arrival! Perfect location, just a short walk along the waterfront to the town centre!
Cons: No safe in the rooms
7.1 Good
Pros: The view is excellent. The staff very very friendly. The cleanness was okay but could strongly be improved. Wifi is very good but only right next to the front desk (office)
Cons: The location. We were very disappointed when we realised that the location was not as defined in the webpage. It is ca. one km from the original location. Wifi did not work in the room.

Overview Reviews
Located in Hanga Roa, Hostal Pukao is in the historical district, a 4-minute drive from Ahu Tahai and 5 minutes from Ahu Akivi. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at Hostal Pukao. The garden is simply magical and invites you to relax and enjoy the nature. The rooms themselves provide everything you'll need and the kitchen is equipped with all that is necessary. Maria and her family are excellent hosts and provided us with all the information, that made our stay at Rapa Nui unforgettable!
Cons: There is nothing to complain about. This place is simply beautiful and worth the 20 min walk to the city's centre!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location (a fair walk from town), welcome juice and lovely doughnut type pastries, met at the airport (free) and dropped back to the airport (5,000 pesos), all the animals (chickens, cats and dogs) but a special mention for the white puppy Mitty who was simply beautiful and loved to play and then fall asleep on us. Very clean, cleaning done everyday and nice hot shower.
Cons: Quite expensive (but that's Easter Island for you), would be good if breakfast was included for the price. WiFi is very bad but then the free WiFi areas on the island aren't really any better. It was.painful to even load a webpage. Our flight was delayed and we were told by the airline what time the flight was delayed until but for some reason they insisted on dropping us to the airport 4 hours before our flight was due to take off. This we didn't understand and it meant we had to wait a long time at the airport which is tiny and very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 10/10 is not enough for Hostal Pukao! The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Everything had been thought of with shampoo, towels and space to hang clothes. The kitchen had everything you could need and the utensils were clean. The garden and seating areas were well taken care of and a little paradise within paradise. It was good fun watching the kittens play, the chickens running around and meeting the little puppies! Maria was an excellent host and keen to practise her great English. She was kind, friendly and offers a taxi service for anywhere you need to go. Maritza was very friendly and despite her limited English she did her very best for the guests and hostal. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and eggs from the chickens each morning, and amazing pancakes!
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like about Hostal Pukao and 4 nights was not enough. The property is a 20 minute walk from town which was inconvenient when I was hot and tired but well worth the effort for the space, peace and tranquility of the setting, as well as the opportunity to see more of the real community on the walk. If you hire a car it is no problem - Easter Island was the first time I have driven by myself and the roads are wide and quiet, just watch out for the potholes!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Maria and Maritza were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to assist. Comfortable beds and working showers.
Cons: Distance from markets and restaurants require either significant time for walking, getting a taxi, or renting a vehicle. Wifi is weak, but internet on the island is overall problematic.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room is spacious and the garden is nice. The sky is amazing.
Cons: Kitchen improper, dirty Had the feeling to disturb everytime we asked for something to the landlord
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, Room service is excellent, Breakfast is really good.
Cons: It's a 20 - 25 walk from town, Internet is really slow, better to use an Entel Sim Card (Entel is the only mobile network provider working on the Island).
7.5 Good
Pros: Fresh Bread for breakfast
Cons: Cockroaches in the bathroom...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was fantastic. Maria was warm, welcoming and very helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maria was waiting for me at the airport. Put a lei around my neck and drove me to show around the town in advance. Amazing!! Thanks to Maria I made a lot of memories in Easter!!

Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. This hotel has 3 meeting rooms available for events. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: I'm very happy with my stay at the Hanga Roa Eco Village. The property and my room were exactly as they'd appeared in all the photos. The location was even better than I'd hoped, providing a sense of distance and peace, while at the same time being within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and much beauty. When I'm on vacation, I indulge in the luxury of eating at whatever time I feel like, so it was lovely to have a cafe/bar on the property that had long hours and continual service. Everyone I met was friendly, and I was grateful for the number of English-speakers on staff. I absolutely feel that I made the right choice when I chose this as my place to stay on Rapa Nui.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent rooms and friendly, professional and available staff. View and closeness to town good. Free transportation to and from the airport. Free glass of wine each evening at sunset. Facility is spotless.
Cons: No televisions, internet is to slow to stream and goes out. To be fair , my understanding is the entire island has some issues.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Minimal towels Dirty paveways inside property
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location of the resort and the island
Cons: Nothing in particular
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved the spaciousness of my room the style and the deco. I did not like not having a tea kettle and coffee machine in the room as with jet lag I was often awake at night and it would have been nice to get a cup of either tea or coffee to not feel so hungry. The hotel is a little away from the city but still quite manageable by foot. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The first 6 days I had to listen to the same music over and over again as they did not have anything else. After telling them about it though they managed to find something else. They also provided me with a tea kettle on the 7th day of my 10 day stay. Generator humming at night can be a little loud and internet is spotty which helps disconnect but can be quite inconvenient at times...
Cons: The fact that the staff from the spa was not helpful and never let me know that I could use the sauna during my stay. After walking about 220 kms in 9 days it would have been nice to have access to stretch in the heat. The controversy with the local population accusing the hotel of wrong doing and protesting with big graffitis boards all around the propriety is an eye sore.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very good breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom and shower inside the room, also the shower cab was not comfortable and the bathtub impossible to use without spilling water on the floor. Room cleaning failed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious and the atomosphere is wonderful to relax. Nice restaurant!!
Cons: Just a bit far from shopping area. Takes 15-20 minutes walk and not close to Moai statue.

6.7 Good
Pros: Location is great. Grounds are well rendered tropical gardens. Breakfast excellent and staff very friendly.
Cons: The rooms are fairly basic. Double bed, ceiling fans, small bathroom. Some mound on inside of window, ceiling and on curtains (which is normal in a subtropical climate) but the rooms could use a thorough clean. It’s an island in the middle of the pacific so wifi is dodgy
4.6 Okay
Pros: The hotel is right in the centre of town and the staff are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Some parts of the hotel have nice planting and a view out to the ocean over the town.
Cons: It's just not an eco-lodge and is very basic for the money. Our room felt like a modern motel room in any dull city - with a dusty roofed internal bathroom and a horrible outside area - not a balcony or anything remotely 'eco'. It was a real disappointment. We moved after one night. The hotel is falsely named and didn't offer anywhere near the value of the place we went to next. It needs a big upgrade or to put the price way down to reflect what is offered.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff.

5.8 Okay
Pros: only flowers
Cons: the rest
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and personal staff.
Cons: Google maps directions to the place. The first choice route sends you to a dead end very close to the hotel. From the airport, if you take the first right off Tu'u Koihu on to Pont gets you there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite place with many birds. The staff offer us an upgrade at reasonable price. The daily issues were solved as soon as possible.
Cons: Zero findings
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: The location was 30 minutes walking to the centre in the middle of the countryside. My friend was ill and there was nothing to eat nearby. The staff was ok, but one person was very rude with us. Sometimes there wasn't electricity, and my friend couldn't dry her hair after the shower.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Well furnished room and nice terrace. Close to the airport - walking distance.
Cons: Slow wifi, worked for very basic stuff only. There are some cocks and chickens around so it was very noisy since early morning. Not happy with the housekeeping. They touched every single item we had in the room and moved it somewhere else. They threw away some things we were planning to use - soap, tissues, bottles, plastic bags for shoes and cosmetics. They opened all windows that we closed in the morning for security reasons. We got new towels after first night even though the used ones were hanging on the racks - we didn't need them, it's not ecological at all. Plus there's no "Don't disturb sign", so the housekeeping is coming anyway.
5.0 Okay
Cons: No 24 hr receptions not best location if you don't have your own transportation.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything is very nice
Cons: The welcome was a bit too cold ! Reception open until 8pm that is a bit early if you need something Afterhours . She explain to us all the hotel rules etc and she haven’t give us wi fi that was very important then we had to knock the door to a neighbour
6.7 Good
Cons: On one of the four night I stayed there, there are some people holding a party nearby (~15 meters away?) until 2:00am, which is super noisy. Not sure if they are local residents..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the roosters (wake up service) very much.
