the staff were very nice. the rooms however where dirty looking and i had my doubts whether the sheets were changed on the bed or not & the shower in the bath leaked all over the floor. you could probably find a better place to stay in hanoi for the same price.
the main draw of mikes hotel is definitely its location, very central in the old quarter easy enough to eat and drink around there.
the hotel itself is very clean but pretty much every wall and ceiling is really damp ridden including our room.needs to be addressed before it spreads further and becomes mould.also part of the reason i booked the hotel was it said in its description online that it had a gym,of course it turned out it didnt.i find a number of hotels in south east asia use this tactic to entice people in very misleading.
So kind and helpfull staff. Clean and tasteful rooms. Perfect spot in old quarter. Can recommend this hotel for anyone with tight budget who don't won't to compromise with quality to much.
Breakfast could be with more and better options, but that is no big issue as it is easy to get a good breakfast at several cafe's nearby.
Our stay in Hanoi is so enjoyable thanks to staff of mike's hotel. We were very pleased to have stayed somewhere with such comfortable rooms and such friendly and warm people. We would like to recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Hanoi.
They picked us from the airport and organized trip back to the airport. Ready to help.
It is centralised in the Old Quarters
The reception is too persistant to sell us tours to Ha Long Bay and other places but be alert with their promises. Secondly, after buying from them the tours, they will totally ignored you the next day and treat you with a 'cold' shoulder. Its the same experience in all hotel in Old Quarters. I do not blame them but the Vietnamese needs to change their attitude towards people.
-The staff was very friendly even though their English was not so good - Location was very good also - Both the room and bathroom were spacious and clean
- They moved us from one hotel to another, which wasn't so nice, but the quality of both hotels is the same, and of course they payed and arrange the transfer - The breakfast was poor
Staff seemed quite determined to sell you a tour. I wanted to get into our room right away when we checked in, being tired from the trip, but the staff wanted to see if we would like to book a tour, etc..
Hotel's staffs. Tour organized.
Hotel with balcony, and breakfast was so excellent.
