Dirty coffee cup, dirty sticky table place mats, too many objects covering every surface. Most bathroom decorations needed cleaning, the wall next to the toilet was dirty. Shower wall had black mould between the tiles. The room itself was over decorated with nick-nacks covering every surface. Photos of the owner in the room and the walls decorated with cheap prints. The bathroom was also over decorated with many jars and perfume bottles each covered in dust. The TV is located in a wardrobe at the end of the bed. However, the wardrobe door partially obscured the TV. The position of the wardrobe at the bottom of the bed reduces the room to its narrowest point of about 1m. This narrow channel is the main walkway from one side of the room to the bathroom. For some reason the owners have placed a tacky, cheap chandelier in the middle of this wall way, suspended at only 5 foot 7 inches in height. This makes it almost impossible to pass without ducking down or banging your head. Breakfast is in a room shared with the owner's partner watching TV. Breakfast was average apart from the black pudding which was below average. On the first night the internet failed. At 10pm I asked the owner's partner if he could do anything. The response was "I don't have anything to do with that". I asked if the owner could look at it. He replied that he didn't want to disturb he because she had "a big day". The next morning I asked and she hadn't reported the fault. She was extremely patronising and said that "this sort of thing happens in the country side". My reply was "I live in the country side". She snapped at me and said "Well what would you do then?" If you don't conform exactly, then be prepared for a poor attitude. My wife decided to spend the daytime in the room while I was out. The owners clearly didn't like this. It seemed as though they were trying to disturb her with loud cleaning noises and door banging. At one point they tried the door handle of our room without knocking or calling. Basically, this b&b is fine if you want to conform to exactly what they expect. We left 1 night early. preferring to sacrifice one night prepaid rather than spend another night there. In keeping with the poor attitude of the owners, there was nobody around to tell.
