The location is perfect - but that’s the only pro.
Cons: - communication is difficult as the hostess does not speak English - the room was too hot due to no air conditioning (but this is still understandable as Finland most of the time is not a hot place) - I have been to many hotels but NEVER have I been to a hotel where it is impossible to store luggage during non check in time. We came at 9 o clock in the morning from a ferry and wanted to leave our luggage at the hotel only to come back later for check in (which is strictly from 14.00 until 22.00) and it was very difficult to get inside the hotel as it is on the fifth floor of an apartment building. I do with most respect understand that check in time is at two o clock and I do not have a single problem with that, BUT every single hotel I’ve ever been to in my life does have a possibility to store luggage even though it is not check in time. We tried to call the hostess but she only told us to wait for someone to get out of the hotel so that we could enter and leave our bags there. SO, if you arrive during non check in time, please beware of the fact that it can be very difficult to get inside the building. And try to contact the hostess beforehand in order to solve this issue, then you will probably get a much more pleasant experience at the hotel^^ - this is not by any means a hotel, it is an apartment on the fifth floor with people in the building being quite disturbed by the hotel guests. -there is only one shower, though there are ten rooms.
Sadly the staff couldn’t speak English.
That the staff could not help us
The location - so close in the center and everything is reachable by feet in a few minutes.
One woman (not the wife of the owner I think) just spoke Russian. No Finnish, no English. I could not speak Russian...so I had to enter my English sentence in a mobile for translating - and I just wanted to know how many single rooms they have in general. That was a bad experience. At least English - even broken sentences - should be spoken from any staff.
The price. If you just want to stay to sleep overnight and take a quick shower for a low price, it will do.
It doesn't look like a hotel at all and room is very small, but I expected as much. Don't have too high expectation. This is at the level of airbnb.
Great location, retro decor, little balcony which was perfect for 2 having breakfast, good kitchen facilities, wooden lift (it's on the 5th floor).
