The room was fine. Comfortable pillows. AC worked well. A few hairs in the bathroom but overall clean.
One person working in the late evening after 10pm. A 12 story downtown hotel with ONE employee. They lock the doors at 7pm, and the ONE employee sits at her desk in the back room where she can't see the front door. We stood out with the homeless people and the smokers puffing away, awkwardly waiting with our bags. Finally a hotel guest let us in and then mildly scolded us for not using our room key to open the door. I told him we hadn't checked in, so had no room key! Got up to our room, and the hotel room clock with the ONLY USB charger in the entire room, did not work. I had 3 teens at home alone, and had to work the next morning remotely from the room, and a dead phone just wasn't an option. I called down to the desk, and was informed that she, with absolutely no personality or concern for her guests and no customer service skills at all, told me that she couldn't help me.She had no maintenance person. I told her I don't need the clock fixed. I just need another clock. I told her I would come down and get a clock. She said no, she didn't have another clock. I asked if she could grab one from another room. She said she couldn't leave the desk. Even though she wasn't at the desk when we came in, she couldn't step down the hall for 30 seconds to get a clock for me. She blamed it on COVID. I blame it on her complete disregard for her customers. If you are going to staff a 12 story hotel with only 1 person, maybe have it be someone who actually cares about customer service. And maybe you should get some USB ports in your rooms like the rest of the world.
I have a pending charge presumably to put towards the mini bar, which I never used. Why hasn't this been removed? I checked out on 8/4/19???!!!!
Excellent Location. Near Rice and the medical center, and just about everything else downtown. A quick Uber ride to anywhere. Has a restaurant and bar. Staff is friendly.
Charges for everything. From self parking to coffee in the morning... everything has a price. The only thing included in the price is the WiFi and TV service.
Antiquated tv system. Tiny, slow, intermittently connected set with a tricky remote and bad interface. Acoustically thin walls. Tiny room. Bad communication between desk and cleaning staff. Might have been nice once upon a time.
