Nearby Pub in village was good. Host was friendly enough but a little abrupt.
I can't emphasize just how unwelcome we were made to feel. Claudette was incredibly rude and pugnacious to the extent that she made my girlfriend cry. It started from the first phone call when we called to check if it was ok to arrive at 6pm as traffic was slowing us down. Claudette said this was not ok despite this being within the specified check in time. There was nobody to greet us at the property however we were given a code to get in. I tried calling on both contact numbers to see if we could access the garden and decking through the house, as advertised. Claudette did not answer either phone or attempt to call back. The kitchen door was open so we left our bottle of wine in the fridge to enjoy later on. The next morning we came down to breakfast and tried to introduce ourselves. Immediately Claudette launched into us for entering the 'private' kitchen the previous night. Of course we had no idea the kitchen was private as nobody had told us this and also had not noticed the small 'private' sign as the door was left open. We apologised profusely however she was on the war path and would not drop the subject. My girlfriend was extremely upset as we were staying locally for a friend's wedding. The host also attempted to charge us for a lamp which was accidentally knocked over, however on closer inspection the lamp had clearly already been broken before, it was held together with glue and zip ties. The final and most shocking issue with the entire stay was that my car was vandalised whilst parked outside the property. My windscreen has been severely scratched with what looks like sandpaper, directly in the eye line of the driver. It ruined what should have been a stress free weekend. Please save yourself the worry and find another property nearby!
