The hospitality extended by the staff, the food was exquisite, the outdoor onsen
Futons were a little worn and not comfortable for a westerner with a bad back
We stayed in the main building. The property was clean. The shuttle to town (5km) was efficient. The meal was ok and the outside onset was pleasant. The staff was friendly.
Worn carpet, chipped table, torn curtain in room. The meal was fine but not amazing compared to others we had, even at places that costed less. We did not feel that it was good value overall. Next time we would just stay in the town.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Dinner snd bfast were more than abudant. We had so many Japanese dishes that we could not finish them all. It was all very tasty.
We had a room in the old building.. Our room was clean and spacious but corridors needed badly renovation. Public areas including onsen would have needed updating.
Quiet peaceful and a nice onsen. I left my glasses at the ryokan and they courier it to me in Tokyo where I received it the following day. Great customer service!
Lovely evening meal, after a relax in the great onsen, both in doors and out. Dinner was a composition of lots of flavours, breakfast a similar experience. Room was a traditional room, comfortable and clean. Overall a great place to stay, especially with the pick up and drop off in Kiso.
