The owner of this Inn is a really friendly and welcoming person. He tried to get to know us a little bit by having a friendly conversation whenever we came back to the Inn. It is hard to describe but he made the stay a lot more enjoyable. The Inn also has a room for everyone to come to with a place to sit, TV and manga. They offer dinner for a small price. (slightly cheaper than restaurant) The room we had was enough for 3 futon to fit in and have a little extra space.
The wifi did not reach the upper floor where the sleeping rooms were located at.
Clean, well located and exceptionally kind and well informed owner, Yuji and his wife, who went out of their way to make is comfortable and help us restaurant recommendations and short trip ideas.
Well situated guesthouse with sleeping on traditional japanese futon. It will take few minutes of walk from JR station Kurashiki but around will be houses of old centre with many art museums and gallery. Small wooden lockers in each room, same as AC and fan. Owner could give you some advices about surrounding area or near cities.
Location is in the middle of Bikanciku where is the tourist spot. Very cheap compere the other accommodation near that. Kind staff, good hospitality. Feel like coming back to home. This is the second time to stay there. We will come back again.
More modern style toilet would be easy. But nothing complain for money value. It’s all good!!
Yuji-inn was in a great location, and the room was basic but clean and comfortable. The owner is very helpful, and all the shared spaces are super-clean, and nicely designed. It's great value for a location right on the edge of the historic canal area, but also easy walk to supermarket, train station etc.
Not a bad thing, but be aware that it feels a little more like a hostel than a guest house - all facilities are shared, no towels provided, no room locks (small safe boxes where you provide your own lock) and the house is closed during the day (although we were given a code so we could get access).
With a stay at Kakure-Yado Yuji-inn - Hostel in Kurashiki, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Kibitsu Shrine and Canal Area (Bikan Historical Quarter). Featured amenities include microwave in a common area and refrigerator in a common area.
