Good location, very friendly host, quirky and interesting breakfast
Runs an honesty system for drinks, which when someone is dishonest results in random charges against other people ( ie me), once we have left. Owner then refused to refund. Very disappointed and so would not return.
Location on the sea ! Superb breakfast.
A bit crowded.
Space heater provided for cold, damp nights was welcome and needed even in June. Generous breakfast featuring local products was fantastic provided you're not a coffee drinker as this was undrinkable. Convenient location just steps from the main street. Small terrace outside the room with chairs and tables was very much welcome in the evening as sitting inside a dank, musky room full of clutter isn't to everyone's liking. And host made certain to reassure us that he is fine with blacks, immigrants and Muslims who are "normal", which was a nice touch.
Not suitable for anyone with allergies - this a stone house and the rooms are damp and smell musky, and potpourri is used liberally. Beds and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, more akin to what you'd find in cabins at a campground. Owner has strong views on immigrants and minorities and doesn't think mosques should be allowed in France, so non-whites and non-Christians may not feel welcome here. Eclectic collection of knick knacks in the rooms will be whimsical and fun for some, while others will feel that they've checked into a flea market. Very expensive for such rustic accommodation at €110 per night even though this is facing the beach, it is a rocky beach with rough waters unsuitable for swimming.
Everything! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The position of the property could not have been better. The beach only yards away, just across the road and walking distance from the very busy and popular town and harbour. Room was comfortable and clean which opened onto a terrace so was perfect for the dog. Best of all were the breakfasts! I have never seen such variety and so much of it with plenty of time to eat it.
The only thing missing was some milk for the tea or coffee, but there was a fridge in the room so we just bought a bottle.
Very close to the beach. Excellent bakery and market within three minutes bike ride. Easy going town with good value restaurants.
Watch out for extras! We stayed in the gite and were charged 200 euros for linen/towels - that might have seemed fair if they had been changed regularly, but they weren't changed once during our ten day stay. In the small print there is a charge for linen/towels, but according to Booking.com the charge should have been 72 euros. An undisclosed (until the final bill was presented) extra accommodation charge was put on top of our Booking.com quote despite the fact that we had on three occasions emailed that we would be four guests, not two (the only number that the website allowed us to enter). These extras had been added to our bill, and the money taken from our card before we had a chance to argue the toss. Booking.com relies on clarity and transparency so that you can compare quotes like for like; this place ruins the trust that is needed for that.
