We chose San Bosco Inn so that we could go out to their sister property and enjoy the hot springs. It was all perfect. There was a happy hour at Volcano Lodge that made it all the more enjoyable and we had a good (though expensive) dinner out there in their restaurant. Although we didn't have a car, it was affordable to get out there and back via Uber. Being in town makes this hotel close to all the best restaurants in La Fortuna. We also enjoyed the pool that was at San Bosco Inn and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything seemed very clean and all the staff we interacted with were kind and professional. Great place!
the pool was very nice bfast was amazing - there was a full buffet of food - eggs, rice and beans, sausage, plantains, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, coffee the staff at the front were very helpful - we really liked Carlos! the room was very clean there was even hot water in the shower! loved the rocking chairs on the shared patio area in front of the hotel doors
nothing - the property was great! only thing is the bathroom was a little old but it was kept super clean so it didnt matter at all
Loved having passes to Hot Springs, breakfast was good, helpful staff.
In terms of value for money, San Bosco Inn is extraordinary. The rooms are big, there’s a good sized pool, all-you-can-eat breakfast, 24/7 coffee and tea, lovely staff and a brilliant location. Plus you get free entry as often as you like to the thermal baths at their sister hotel (about 7 km away). We had a quad room ( 2 x double beds) in the main building above reception with a good bathroom and TV. Rooms are serviced every day and we had beautifully presented and decorated towels :) There was a terrace just outside that was shared with only one other room but even so, had a dining table and chairs as well as rockers. At the bottom of the stairs is the coffee area with 24/7 coffee and a great selection of fruit and black teas. The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t use the pool but it was large and clean. Breakfast is served next to it and, given it’s included in the price, was awesome. It’s not fancy but there was always fruit, cereal, something cooked, pancakes etc with fruit juices and tea/coffee. We certainly didn’t need lunch while staying. It’s located one street back from the main square in La Fortuna so it’s really convenient to get everywhere while still being quiet. A little laundry opposite got our washing back to us bone dry and neatly folded in about 8 hours! The sister hotel, Volcano Lodge, is undeniably a taxi ride away but we stopped off each time we came back from sightseeing. Make sure you get your wristband from San Bosco reception before you go. We found all the staff really welcoming and helpful particularly Jose, who confessed when we checked in that it was his first week. But you wouldn’t know it - like everyone else, he was courteous, spoke good English and had lots of information.
The coffee area is next to the loos. Not really a big deal - we took our drinks back to our room instead. Just felt a little uncomfortable.
Convenient right at the heart of the city, clean and great choice for breakfast The pool is a great add-on when the day is hot They have a sister hotel with hot springs and gave us vouchers to spend the day there. Great surprise!
