Very good location if you need to get to the airport. The train station is only a few minutes walk away and from there it’s 2min on the train.
The pillow was a bit small for my liking and the reception is closed for most of Sunday (I arrived on a Sunday) so couldn’t ask for a better one.

Excellent, basic, no-frills place to stay - made arrangements very simple. Electronic check-in worked well. Very comfortable bed, plenty of warm water, powerful shower. No coffee/tea in room, but free bottle of water. Central in Echterdingen, with several varied restaurants around, including a Cantonese one just across the road which proved very good indeed. The airport is not far away, and can even be reached on foot with a one and a half-mile walk.
Lack of staff around the place doesn't reassure - if you had problems after 9pm with the access code, for instance, for either front door or room, I'm not sure you could sort it out easily. For a hotel just down the road from the international airport, all the instructions were only in German, and the TV had only one foreign-language channel (Bloomberg, in English).
