Pros (+) I liked that it was quiet and only a couple of minutes from where we were going. Tv had plenty to watch, ac worked great and room was clean. It had plenty of room for my kids to play around in.

Less than eight miles from Long Beach Airport and less than five to StubHub Center, the Mission Motel is a simple, unfussy location for business and leisure travelers in the Los Angeles Area. Around ten miles from the heart of the City of Angels, guests of the motel can visit the Hollywood Bowl, Venice Boardwalk, Staples Center, LA Coliseum and all of the famous landmarks in just a few minutes’ drive.

It is a low-key property designed to look just like one of the early mission buildings with a tower, and stucco and terra cotta accents. Pros (+) The room seemed clean (I'm also a germ-o-phobe so I clean everything anyway, 5 start hotel or not) & spacious for someone who just wanted somewhere to stay - without interest in amenities. I drove so proximity amenities or food within walking distance wasn't important. I had a room on the ground floor with no other rooms above. As for it being a bad neighborhood, it's no West Hollywood, but for so...
Cons (-) The parking lot was really small and took some maneuvering in to spaces but that being said, I didn't have a problem finding a spot close to my room. The walls are paper thin, I could hear the phone vibrating for the person in the next room & when they talked on the phone. Obviously this is a design flaw that can't be changed but if you're a light sleeper you might have a problem, I had none.

Pros (+) -Very good value for an LA motel -Staff very responsive and kind -Gated + security cameras on-site -facilities (bed, fridge, shower, drawers) adequate
Cons (-) -Room was way too hot, poor ventilation. -Loud noises during the night, including 1 night of a couple arguing + 1 night of loud gunshot noises -Local area very poor, many shops are protected by metal bars; hotel booth protected by bullet-proof glass
Pros (+) Staff was great and very helpful with getting me into my room. You have all the essentials in your room.
Cons (-) The area is a very sketchy part of Los Angeles area. I wish I would have done more research in where I was staying
