good position, very clean and comfortable, and staff were very accomodating and helpful, and was able to leave luggage for a few hours.
Madrid is a fantastic city that never sleeps! Was offered choice of a front room with balcony which I chose, but because it is next to a busy road I couldn't sleep, so I was moved to a back room, and had a good sleep!
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with our room. We were given a room in the new building (2 blocks from the address given). The space was big for the price! Location was also very good as it's in a quiet area and yet in the city centre. Very happy with our stay considering the price we paid. Hair dryer available to borrow. Heated towel rack useful for drying our laundry.
The shower floor floods but when I just turned on the shower midway (not fullblast), it didn't flood. It was just a little thing though, as most important to us were cleanliness, location and heater. Heater was centralized though and sometimes it was a little hotter than we would have wanted so we just opened the window a bit. Hard to get hold of the receptionist, but I realized later on the receptionist was in the 3rd floor (students dorm), and he was available 24 hrs...
Perfect for couple. Location was excellent. Right in the centre. Staff verry nice
the staff clean the room every day, change towels. Confortable for the money. good location, not noise at all even is in a main street. Highly recomendend.
good friendly and very helpful staff and good location and good facilities.
Very confusing check-in situation. No clear directions where to go. Could be very simple dissolved by placing clear signage at the entrance.
Really good location, great access to plaza mayor and puerto del sol and gran via and metro to get to anywhere else, also near restaurants and bars. room very nice and clean. Really good value for money. felt safe in hostal and it was a very nice building. overall great stay in hostal martin.
Location was good; a minute from the closest station and about 10 minutes walk to the atocha station. 10 minutes or so to plaza de sol and bunch of places to eat or shop around. Safe and not too noisy. Internet connection was strong enough and no problem.
Stayed for 3 days, but the first room assigned was so small with such a small double bed (for 2 persons) and no shower goods (shampoo, etc). We complained becase it was too different from the picture, then they assigned another room in another floor, and that was big enough and with packets of shampoos, etc. The wall is thin and sometimes people were going crazy and annoying... the towel was tough and looked like being used for 5 years with machine wash... There was a huge hole under the bathtab and after taking shower, water coming out from that hole and that smelled terrible.
Their response to my request for a quiet room. I got one! Their bilingual help and their knowledge of the area
I was confused about the floors and the elevator.
Staff was very helpful, parking arrangement (we had a car) was close and reasonable.
Location on Atocha street which has alot of traffic. One block away would be much more pleasant. No sound insulation between walls, heard everything in next room. Cigarette smoke comes into the room from other roooms if you leave window open, room gets stuffy if window is closed.
