Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Manistee

Staff was rude and not very welcoming or pleasant to approach. Employees could smile more. Customer service at the front desk I would rate a 1 on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being extremely poor. I also asked specifically if we could pay with two separate cards to split the cost with the other person who shared a room with me. But, when we came to check out they had already charged the card we used when we checked in. I don’t understand why we were assured otherwise and then billed without even being asked how we’d like to proceed. The morning we checked out I walked out of my room and passed someone in housekeeping cleaning the room a few rooms down and she clearly saw me leave my room. I forgot my key in there and glasses so I went back and asked her if she’d open my door. Her response was no without hesitation due to safety regulations? Mind you, she was short on words and straight to the point no further explanation nor did she offer me help. Instead she said I needed to go back down to the front for a key instead of escorting me or calling someone with authority to open my door. Never have I heard of such a regulation. Employees gave the face of this hotel a bad image and didn’t represent them with positive energy at the least.
