10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and good service.
7.9 Good
Pros: a family project still in progress. nice design and friendly staff
Cons: water was not working at some point and then in the evening it came back. we were rushing to a night tour and thus could not take a shower
4.2 Okay
Pros: I liked the idea of staying in a B & B... and the price was right. I liked that the rooms had enough beds for all the group -- there were 9 of us total... 7 women and 2 men. We got three rooms. I liked that our host seemed nice! He generously offered that we could use the larger kitchen to prepare breakfasts (because he doesn't serve breakfast at the B&B anymore)
Cons: My group and I were very disappointed in just about everything related to the experience. There was a lot that upset me... but here at the highlights: The B & B was missing the Breakfast... and even though I sent him an email inquiring as to the price of breakfast... the host didn't tell me that he wasn't serving breakfast until we arrived on day 1. He did say that we could use the larger of the two kitchens to prepare our own breakfasts... so we did. The issues with that were plenty -- everything was filthy. Cups, plates, silverware, utensils... all dirty & gross. We had 6 nights reserved... we left after 2 and found a better place. My room smelled like cigarette smoke.... bad. The showers were actually quite nice (open air, tile work) except for the facts that 1) the water only works if the host turns on the well pump for you 2) the "faucet" is just a pipe hanging out of the wall.... there is no shower head. My group of 9 returned after a long day and we all just wanted a shower... there was only enough water in the tank for two people to shower. The host accused us of using up all the water. Our host said that he would show us how to walk down to the beach (just 300 meters away), but he never followed through with that. Instead, he choose to get drunk and entertain some woman in his room. We arrived home at 6pm our second night and couldn't find him to help us with some things that we needed. When we did find him, he accused us of putting a wet towel over a fan (while in use) and burning up the motor. We did not put a wet towel over a working fan... only an idiot would do that. Nonetheless, he did get us a new fan. They were doing construction on the B&B, so there were constantly workers around, cutting wood, hammering, nailing, screwing, etc... sometimes right above your porch (they were putting a 3rd story on above the 2nd story). I wouldn't stay here again even if it was free... and even then....
5.0 Okay
Pros: Super friendly, cheery and helpful owner which makes it kind of hard to give a bad rating like this. Nice location in the woods with soothing jungle sounds (once the noise from the other people stopped...). Good location.
Cons: Very basic furnishings, uncomfortable mattress and no hot water in the room (which isn't mentioned anywhere) which unfortunately ruins what would otherwise be a nice semi-outdoor shower. Surrounding grounds kind of messy, too expensive for what's offered (although value for money generally seems to be an issue on this stretch of coast). Loud noise from other guests or the family (not sure which) until late.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff is super friendly and it’s super cool living in the jungle!
Cons: So me and my boyfriend stayed here for a few days and had a good time but there were some issues. The first room we were out in the bed immediately broke and the water didn’t turn on and the second room had no pillows sheets, blankets, or propane for the kitchen. The kitchen is decent and you are living in the literal jungle so if u r scared of rats and bats and birds and insects I don’t recommend it. All theee things we saw in our room which was fine but if u don’t like those things it’s not for u. The beds r super uncomfortable and the sheets do not fit whatsoever. Beware that there’s no taxi service in Manzanillo so DO NOT bring a lot of stuff. This place is far from the bus stop so when u get to town rent a bike! It truly is a house of adventure. It’s a little pricey but Manzanillo is small and the staff is friendly. Good for light traveling backpackers or adventurous families!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's authentic, you feel like living in a jungle. Really nice terrace with hammock outside.
Cons: It is around 1km away from the village, where you would have to walk next to a road
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Directly in the nature, awesome host!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect wood house to stay and to wake up with the sounds of monkeys and birds!! It is inside the jungle just 7 min on foot for the beach. The host is very warm and friendly and we liked him a lot. I suggest it !
7.5 Good
Pros: The host was very friendly and gave us good tips for activities and restaurants. The place is charming and is very well situated. Punta Uva beach and Manzanillo National Park are a quick drive away, and you can easily walk to another beach from the house as well. We only stayed one night but for longer stays a shared kitchen is available where you can cook your own dinner.
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable , the mattress might need to be replaced .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and extremely quiet (away from the backpacking crowd). A lot of thought was put into the little details, from the roof design (when it rains making a calming/meditative type of sound that isn’t too loud) to the distance between the cabins.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast and great location. Close to the best beaches in the area, nicely secluded in the jungle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect cottages in the jungle Patrick and Irena could not do enough for us. Dinner recommendations were all amazing. Bikes available to access the whole of the coast. Breakfast was brilliant with unlimited coffee and eggs how you like with tons of fresh local fruit and bread. An oasis in Talamanca! Would highly recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As lovely as everyone describes! Everything was set up to entice you to linger: your private patio, with its bench seat and hammock and the breakfast area where afternoon tea, coffee and cookies are laid out. No expense has been spared to maintain the place, which is a constant challenge in the humidity. Screens on the large window and wide double doors allowed for maximum coolness and private views. Lots of convenient surface space to put our belongings. Bubbly Irena did everything possible to make our stay exceptional. Misc: Access to the beach is ~300m away and the several km long pristine beach made for excellent walking and swimming (especially between Punta Uva and Manzanillo, 8km return).
Cons: Nothing to suggest!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This lodge is located in a magical jungle forest, a block away from the beach. Irena, the owner of the place is the kindness person I have ever met and best host ever. The place is absolutely well taking care of with lovely breakfast and strong coffee in the morning.
Cons: I loved everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bungalows are in the jungle but near the city. You have everything you need and no TV what is perfect. Place to forget about stress at all!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was absolutely Gorgeous! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and had lots of great tips for things to do around Punta Uva. Breakfast was amazing, with a large selection of fruits, and a large amount of coffee, which was freshly brewed, and then a selection of delicious breakfast foods. Every morning we were gently woken up by the sound of wildlife, such as howler monkeys, a large variety of birds, and geckos. Korrigan Lodge has a few bikes that are available for use, for free. Punta Uva has many fun places and restaurants within biking distance, which made biking a great option. My wife and I were absolutely satisfied with the lodge, the breakfasts, the staff, and the location. Would recommend with no hesitation. A side note, there is no A/C in the lodges, which wasn't a big issue for us, but might be a drawback for those used to cooler temperatures.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was fabulous. Breakfast was great. The room felt spacious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying with Irena and Patrick was like visiting good friends. The cabins were really cute and sparkling clean (I have no idea how you even get things that clean in the jungle). The staff was very kind and had helpful tips. The property was beautiful, and we did a lot of wildlife watching right on our deck (sloths, howler monkeys, bats, reptiles, amphibians, and birds). In addition, we were easily able to walk to several beaches and there were great restaurants in proximity to the cabins. One of our favorite parts of staying at Korrigan Lodge was enjoying the beautiful breakfasts cooked by Irena and Patrick and getting tips from them about the area.
Cons: It was honestly all great.
