Relatively smooth pickup process and easy dropoff. I would recommend any travelers be sure to take a picture of the damage sheet and the car because the person receiving your car at the return did not have a copy and thought we put the dent in the passenger door. Once we showed the photo it was all fine, but we would’ve had trouble without that. Overall the Localiza staff were friendly and helpful on both sides. I would rent from them again.

They need better signing at the airport, it took a while to find the office. The car had a broken tail light when I got it. They should fix the cars before they rent them again. And the car didn’t have any windshield liquid so I had to clean it manually.

Pros:

Yes the staff was friendly however, they had no solution to provide a better vehicle which I had contracted for and I was charged for a lower class vehicle at the same rate I contracted for....the air conditioner did not work most of the time, the windshield wipers were all worn out, the rear seats were broken, etc etc etc. Extremely disappointed that a rental company such as AVIS doesn't have a quality control standard in place at their dealers to provide quality vehicles.

The entire experience.

Pros:

I did not like anything. I could not rent the car, and you took 40 dollars from my card, and you have not returned it yet, even though the company sent a message that there were not available cars. Therefore, I want my money back.

Cons:

Do not book a car where there is not available one.

There has to better directions to get to the place. It is pretty hard to find. And pick up and drop off timing need to be improved upon. It tooks us 1 hour to take the car out of the place and 20 minutes to return it. Worst experience I have ever had. Also, it took us 30 minutes to find the guy, we had to ask the people near the airport as the address given was wrong.

First they require a $1000 dollar deposit for your rentalnwhichbisnt stipulated anywhere on the site or after making reservation. 2nd...the car initially had AC and after about an hour after driving off, the air turned off and never turned back on. I was already in route to Barranchila and couldn't turn back. This truly ruined our drive as we had to endure the heat for our extended ride. I returned the car 1 day early and explained to the budget rep the situation and he refused to refund the money for the extra day that I chose to not keep the car. Shady business practices and they forced me to buy the local insurance although I explained to them that my AMEX Platinum covered the insurance. I would never go back to Budget Cartagena. Never ever.

Cons:

Get rid of this budget rental office. They run it like a extortionist renegade franchise. Truly making my experience with budget one to never want to rent a car again from. They should redund the day I didn't use the car.

We planned a trip to Cartagena four months before our trip including our air fare and car rental. We reserved an automatic crossover (Chevy Tracker or similar) since we had to drive about two hours from Cartagena to get to where we were going to stay. I called two weeks prior to confirm and I was advised that there was a system glitch and the car that I had reserved was never in their inventory, only stick shift was available and the price of my reservation would not be honored. I explained to them how far in advance we had reserved the car but the best they could do was either give me a stick shift for a higher price or refer me to another car rental agency for an automatic car for an even higher price. I also asked how come I was able to reserve this car when it was non-existent in their inventory and they continued to say it was a system glitch. In the end, we got private transportation but this caused some major unnecessary anxiety before a week-long trip with a toddler ..
