The service here is splendid. Even if the staff don't speak much English, it is easy to communicate with them. The housekeeper is lovely and a splendid cook. Dinner here is highly recommended. The rooms are beautiful and the hottub on the roof is stunning. This was our second stay here and we'd definitely go back!
Everything was perfect!
Lovely room - spacious, clean, comfortable bed, great decor. Located not far from Saadian tombs, interesting neighbourhood with local market, and an easy walk to Djemaa el Fna square. Staff friendly and organised an early morning taxi to the airport.
Hot water for showering was limited, good at 8am on but not available in the evening before bed.
Location is good
This place needs lots of maintenance. Shower did not drain and some paint coming off. Safe box is not working. Closet door do not shout down. Communication is not great unless you speak French or Arabic. Breakfast is just below average and nothing special. It might be ok if you just sleep but we wanted to have a good access to the Médina that why we choose but not for 4 nights stay.
When we arrived the first night we had pre booked dinner. The dinner was excellent. The breakfast every morning was very tasty and enjoyable. I liked how the housekeeper remembered what i wanted for breakfast every morning. The room was very clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable and slept very well every night I was there. I liked the balcony upstairs, you could relax up there the sun was shining and it was so peaceful it was as like you were not in a city at all as the place was like as if it was sound proofed. The Manager of the riad brought our bags up to our room which was nice as there was no lift. They had the hotel well decorated.
I was not able to communicate with them very well because they had very little English, and no German. I didn't feel like at home more than likely because of the language barrier. The atmosphere was very poor. The welcome we got could have been alot better, but it didn't stand out, as it was just ok. Nothing was explained to us for example we didnt know how to work the heating system, or how to work the safe to lock up your personal items. No shower gels were provided or no hairdryer.
+ Riad offers Shuttle Service from the Airport (bit more expensive than a regular taxi but the driver knows exactly where to drive and drops you off in front of the Riad) + Very welcoming Staff and Owner!! Supported us for our daytrips, gave as helpful advices for the city and the surroundings. + Directly in the middle of the Medina and easy to get to / from the Airport ! + Riad offers Daytrips outside of Marrakesh for the same price as everywhere else + The Breakfast Bread and Juice was freshly made everyday (even tho the varity of choices has been the same the whole week)
- Only big Problem for us has been the cold shower water in the evening. Other than that its just a matter of getting along with a new culture .... - A Language Barrier can be avoided with a Moroccan sim-card and google translate - Be adviced that the Riad is right in the middle of the Medina and an busy market area for locals. Therefore it will get loud early in the morning. - Always have bottled water in your bathroom as the water from the pipes will make you sick
With a stay at Riad Bab Agnaou in Marrakech (Medina), you'll be a 2-minute walk from Saadian Tombs and 9 minutes by foot from Agdal Gardens. A train station pick-up service is available for a surcharge.
