The old port is the best place to stay in Marseille. Not expensive. All the attractions are around. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Only provided one towel per person to serve as bath towel, wash cloth and hand towel.

Superb location right next to the waterfront in the Vieux Port area. The hotel is a building in the second row of houses, so you'll only have the "side views" of the sea as advertised. The rooms are functional without any special features and rather spacious. Perfectly clean as well. Wifi was also good. However, the highlight (and the main reason to stay there, I guess) is its rooftop terrace! It even better than advertised, you'll have amazing views over the port and downtown Marseille. Especially at sunset, this is a great place to be! At the end of the week (Thu, Fri, Sat -- if I remember correctly) the rooftop bar also opens -- which might lead to a bit more buzz up there, so be aware of that. Overall, great value for money. Would stay there again!
The chair in the room was a wooden structure which was just super-uncomfortable. Luggage storage after checkout wasn't very professional. It just meant: Feel free to put your bags in the breakfast room, and staff will make sure they don't get lost... Well, it worked for me.
